Fruit Cake Recipe
A Dense tea cake with candied fruits
Preparation time: 20 minutes
Cooking time: 30mis
Serves: 8
Recipe Ingredients:
225g flour
110g butter
110g sugar
150g mixed candied fruit
5 tbsp condensed Milk
5 tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
1 tsp baking powder.
Recipe method:
Preheat the oven at 180C.
Dust and line a 2 lb. loaf tin or 6" round cake tin.
Sift the flour and baking powder together thrice.
Beat together the butter and sugar till pale and creamy.
Add in the condensed milk. And vanilla essence and beat for another minute.
Ivied the flour into three partd snd milk into 2 parts.
Fold in one part flour, one part milk, second part milk, second part milk and the final part of flour.
Do not overmix.
Rub the candied fruit in 1 tsp flour and lightly fold into the batter.
Bake for approximately 30 mins in a preheated oven until a skewer comes out clean.

Mam, i followed the recipe to the T. But still my cake turned biscuity..like a cheap cookie texture. Could u tell me what might have possibly gone wrong? Oh another thing i would like to say,i preheated my oven at 160 ℃ for 10 mins before i put my cake batter in. Could this be an issue? Please let me know.

I am sorry to say that your written recipe and video is not matching , as in written recipe says condensed milk where you showed two egg 🥚. I hope it’s negligible mistake 😃

Please make custard tutti frutti cake for vegetarians bcz I tried to make and each tym sponge get flat after cooling and its taste like flour only no sponge .
