The Insecticons, because of their cloning ability, make ideal Sweeps for Scourge. 3. The twin Cyclonus, which was supposed to be part of an armada of clones, was never shown again. It's a holdover from cut scenes in the movie featuring clone Cyclonus. One of many animation errors, which TF fans love to pretend are actually canonical and require explanations. No, they don't. They're just errors. 4. Supposing Skywarp became a twin Cyclonus and was subsequently killed off: That makes only two Sweeps, consistent with the movie sure, but ever after there are three. So there you have it. The Insecticons are Sweeps, or still alive in the toy catalogue, and Skywarp is not present, but Cyclonus is. The Bombshell camp are just more TF fans taking animation errors too literally.
I want to endorse the third option theory that Cyclonus is Cyclonus. I think Unicron was holding Cyclonus, and Scourge & the Sweeps, prisoner, and he simply "exchanged" them, one for one with the Decepticons. I interpret the scene where it looks like Bombshell morphs into Cyclonus as instead, Cyclonus filling the space where Bombshell was 'transported' away, and into a holding cell, once occupied by Cyclonus. ( if Skywarp can "teleport" himself, then I suppose Unicron could teleport multiple transformers at close distance, all at once.) This theory would also mean Skywarp , Thundercracker and the Insecticons could've still returned, if Unicron wasn't destroyed. ... unless, somewhere floating in space, is a chunk of Unicron, with a prison block , filled with deactivated transformers, waiting to be found...
The figures and their cartoons, which have given us such joy and happiness, could never be despised. We always have to thank them that today there are so many lines and variants of transformers figures. They are part of our childhood of those who are already over 40 years old. The collector who does not respect and consider the figures of transformers generation one, does not appreciate or respect such a beautiful legacy. I Being skyward and Scourge being Bombshell, skyward is a better fit with looks and personality, plus both scourge and Bombshell can both clone themselves and have guns on their head
"Die-cast construction its a lost art" Miss this fig one of my old fav cons. It is funny how he did a lot in the show and well was basically cannon fodder in the comics. Off to thw Stormtrooper!
I'm with you. One of my favorite G1 toys and by far the best jet mode. I can weirdly remember the feel of the toy in my hand. I love the Kingdom toy, and am hoping they give us a redeco in toy colors.
Loved your skywarp plug. Great review. You know, there a lot of difference between the personality of skywarp and cyclonus. In my head canon its because of the Unicron update, made him way smarter and a better tactician.
This was still my favourite Cyclonus figure until the Kingdom Cyclonus came out, boy that figure is simply amazing! For a G1 figure I think he was also one of the most articulated and still display mine (and my G1 Scourge) with pride. My copy really does need new stickers though. Also, Simon Furman's run at Marvel UK with the Transformers comics (Target 2006 all the way through to Tme Wars) is still my favourite TF comic run to date. I really with they would be reprinted again as I lent out a few of the trades and never got them back :(

Same can be said for Scourge, though Galvatron pretty much stayed Megatron up until his lava bath.

What's the argument? The camera pans with the one that was Bombshell. Skywarp makes more sense, but the footage clearly shows that it's Bombshell.

IDW was reprinting all the UK comics and great collected books then canceled at book 5...which was going to be the TIME WARS story!!!!!!!

I miss the feel and weight of the metal in the G1 Transformers. I love the new Cyclonus, but wish he was a darker purple like the G1 toy.
