I'm honestly a little shocked this hasn't happened. (Can't wait til he does!) Can we get Hills of Connemara and Lord of the Dance too? So many good songs perfect for Colm still left. It's almost like he's drawing from a rich longstanding musical tradition or something. :-D
This has always been one of my favourite songs to perform. Thanks Silly Wizard for giving us such a wonderful (and cheeky) song, and to you, Colm, for your wonderful version of it!
@@captaindeadpool1997 Yes and another great version it is but it is simply not true to say they wrote any of the verses . Give credit to the actual writer Andy M Stewart
@@captaindeadpool1997 the dubliners covered many scottish and english sangs. indeed ,luke kelly learned his trade playing with english folk band in a folk clun run by a scotsman ian campell then the dubliners formed in 62.
Colm, in the time I've been following you, you've covered no less than 21 of my favourite songs (Don't Stop Believing, Skye Boat Song, Loch Lomond, Soldier Poet King, 16 Tons, Chemical Worker's Song, I Wanna Be In The Cavalry, Roll Northumbria, Sweet Home Alabama, Country Roads, Come Out Ye Black And Tans, Jolene, Star of the County Down, Sound of Silence, Barret's Privateers, Northwest Passage, Row Me Bully Boys, Auld Triangle, Humours of Whiskey, The Parting Glass, Santiana) and introduced me to many new favourites or revitalised songs I didn't consider much because of your wonderful mix of trad and modern styles. And now you've hit favourite song number 22 with this one. Honestly, I'd swear you're reading my mind. Thanks for another great rendition!
Its people like colm who bring peace to me in a time of trouble. Thank you so much colm. You have no idea how much your singing brings me calm. Stay handsome lad.
Colm is such an angel, his voice, even in a harmony, is so magical! Everytime I hear his voice like this, it just yanks at my Irish heart strings, to me, he IS the definition of Irishmen. I love him so much! I have a girlfriend, but Colm's voice is so magical and beautiful and full of Irish spirit, it brings tears of happiness and Irish pride to my eyes! 😭😭😭💝💝💝💝🤗🤗🥰🥰❤️❤️❤️
I wish I could like this song a million times over. I love this song or at the very least, this cover of the song. As much as I like more folk songs, I don't actually know that many. So Colm is expanding my horizons. Anyway, fantastic work as always. This has become my personal favorite (so far). Considering how many times I've said that since beginning to listen to Colm, I'm not sure how long it'll hold onto that top spot, lol.
I already gave you praise during the premiere, but here's some more. This was awesome! I grew up listening to the version performed by Alex Beaton (performed in D Major) so needless to say I was surprised when you covered the song as well! I think the key of F#/Gb Major is underrated, so props to you for performing in it! Keep up the fantastic work!
Just a humble suggestion ive made during livechat so it doesnt get lost: "go the distance" from the Disney Song Hercules. Keep up the great song. Awesome tune as always colm
Every time and I mean EVERY TIME I am thinking about learning a song from someone like Seth Staton Watkins no more then a few days later Jonathan Young or Colm will put that song out and it feel like a sign that I need to learn the song.
Another oldy but goody. How many more mindblown can colm give before I cant listen to any other version. WAIT ITS TOO LATE. This rambling Rover is now my favorite🎉🎉😂❤
You covered one of my favorite songs! I thought nothing could beat the Silly Wizard's version, but you're giving them a run for their money. Love from Germany! 😁
As a man with arthritis, colitis, and bollockitis, this song made my fecking week.
I'd love to hear Colm cover Finnegan's Wake.
This would be fantastic
Oh yeah!!!

I almost forgot that masterpiece existed!

Your ability to combine trills and grit in your vocal lines is so goddamn handsome.
We finally get to see Colm play the bodhrán!!! There isn't anything this man can't do!
This is SUCH AN AMAZING COVER!!

This has always been one of my favourite songs to perform. Thanks Silly Wizard for giving us such a wonderful (and cheeky) song, and to you, Colm, for your wonderful version of it!
I believe this is the cover by the dubliners they added a fee viruses that the wizards didn't have
@@captaindeadpool1997you believe wrong this is the original lyrics written by Andy M Stewart of the scottish group silly wizard
