Colm put a lot of work into his music, I hate to admit it but the first time I saw one of his song covers I thought he wouldn't make it far, now I'm eating my words faster than I said them.
"Rolling down to Old Maui" was written by the Legendary Stan Rogers in 1979. He is a Canadian hero now. What I have read in the past was that Stan either found or bought the diary of a whaler man and found some phrases, or a short poem that inspired Stan to put that whaler's feelings into song. Recognize and honor the inspiration of a man who left this earth WAY too soon at the age of 33. There is a Canadian stamp in his honor now. "Barrett's Privateers' is the unofficial anthem of the Canadian Navy. . . (I DON'T LIKE how you changed the WORDS. When STAN wrote, 'Stunsal (SP) Bones," He meant it!!!!)
Loving this! 'The Star Of The County Down' scene, based on an actual scene? suggests a military fleet on the water, late 19th - early 20th cent. destroyers or corvettes? Certainly not fishing boats! Any thoughts where this could be?
I sent the image of that track to my grandmother today, because her grandfather was on Byrd’s expedition, and she replied, “I have pictures of that memorable evening somewhere!!! That’s a dramatic photo of the ship!”
I love everything in this. But: is there anyway you can set the ad spots to between the songs? It's so damn annoying that RUclips plays them DURING THE SONGS. Maybe that out of your control.
Those ads are usually out of any RUclipsr's control. The more views a channel has, the more likely to have ads popping up during the videos. This is how the site makes its revenue - hosting ads. Its algorithm dispers randomly those ads among channels of different audiences and levels of popularity. They are dependant on viewer's country of origin (IP adress from which they access the platform, in technical terms). I, a Bulgarian from Southern Europe, will see totally different ads (including many in my native language) than you. Popular RUclipsrs that make revenues out of their channels do receive parts of the platform's revenue that has been specially made through their videos. I am also a huge fan of Captain Halyard's magnificent compilations!

Great compilations. Did I miss Stan Rogers somehow?
Seo é an ceol Gaelach is fearr a chuala mé le fada an lá.
English sea shanties and folk songs seems to be popular now?
I wish he could sing the dunes by shane McGowan
Ich habe Krebs und höre diese Shanties, sie erinnern mich an bessere Zeiten, als ich noch selber zur See gefahren bin
Hey man, source on image?
Half of his songs are Stan Rogers'; covers are great, except when yours pales so badly in comparison to the original.
Nah, his cover of Northwest Passage is class
