I've been focusing on the lyrics to MTM. Several songs have purely depressing lyrics. That didn't stop them from making rock music. It also pushed them to greater popularity. OML doesn't compare with any edge because it is dull.

"Wet" is an adjective that we use to describe what happens to an object that, when it comes into contact with water, changes its state of being to be full of moisture/water and becomes moist/damp/soaked. idk y people always want a band to produce the same style and to express the same emotional things, music must go through development, which is the outward manifestation of what band members' developments of the thoughts.
It really sucks because I was hoping they would follow up this album with a better one and redeem themselves
That's honestly the saddest part. If they had written a magnum-opus album before what happened, that'd be one thing. But the fact that Chester's last record is, by far, his worst adds a whole new level of depressing.
Mike shinoda and the rest of the band has confirmed that there will be more Linkin Park in the future, either with a different singer or as an instrumental band. They refuse to let this piece of shit pop album be their last record.
But yeah it's pretty lame that Chester made this his last album when it's so generic and bland

Comparing Chester to Avicii was a little uncalled for...
This album seems like it was more for Chester. If you read the lyrics now after the suicide, it's kind of like he's singing his own eulogy. Maybe that's why he was so depressed when his fans said they didn't like it. Also his best friends birthday that came up probably pushed him over the edge. Even though I wasn't down with your new shit, your first albums helped an edgy child grow. RIP.

I get the critiques of the album, but as someone who has always like the sound of Chester's voice I still enjoy this album even though their style changed.
IMO they should have made like a Hunting Party 2 - half pop half hard rock/nu metal with some eletronic music elements - with more fleshed out guitar riffs and solos, before you know...
