That Miguel-Robbie scene seemed like the writers trying to re-invent the scene from the first Karate Kid movie but obviously a bit different. Miguel overreacted to Robbie being around Sam like Johnny overreacted in the first movie to Daniel being around Ali.
I think it was suppose to be like what if Johnny & Daniel reversed roles in KK1, because Miguel clearly Is suppose to be a similar character to Daniel Larusso from the start of the series
Robbie was just helping Sam down the hill when he was holding her, and she viewed Robbie was a friend and isn't aware of his crush on her. Robbie seemed to back off when Sam told him she had a boyfriend. I agree Miguel was drunk and overreacted and shouldn't have shoved Robbie in the first place. I disagree that Daniel was being immature, his anger was quite understandable considering Robbie misled him and kept the fact that his father is his old nemesis and considering Robbie's first intentions was to use him to get back at his father even though Robbie did change for the better, Daniel doesn't felt deceived. The Karate Kid Part 3, gives better insight on Daniel's mindset regarding being deceived and manipulated.
Correct & your right about kk3. As a stand alone movie it doesn't need to be watched but because of the cobra kai series it is essential viewing & for a whole different number of reasons.
I still think Daniel's reaction was poorly written. I don't think there was any reason for him to believe that Robby was conning him. Especially after Robby defended him from Johnny.
It is Moon's character to forgive and see in others what is underneath. You'll see more of her personality in future episodes. She is a person who will admit when she is wrong, so her turn in this episode is keeping in her character.
Loved the "recreation" of the beach scene in Karate Kid 1 with Robby, Miguel and Sam. Ironic that Johnny's son is in his arch rival's position love little ironies like that
Teenage drinking always cause for some trouble. Robby held Sam's hand because he wanted to be a gentleman. He even said to Sam "Your dad always said to be a gentleman". I think Sam trusts Robby well enough because her Dad has been taking him under his wing.

He originally did it to get back at his father so he has been in conflict what will happen if he comes out and tells the truth. I do think he backs off from Sam when she says she has a boyfriend. What happens when Robbie sees Miguel is ignites the reason why he went to work for Daniel. Robbie one was trying to get back at his father and also was a bit jealous of how Johnny was treating Miguel. So its not just the writers recreating the scene in the original story but also showing how such a grudge that Johnny and Daniel have for each other now will infect their children and students. It all starts with a girl. Miguel is in some ways both Daniel and Johnny for being bullied. Robbie and Miguel is like them both for not really having a true father figure. Robby also adopting or having more of Daniel's somewhat moral like attitude, which cuts both ways. So while on the surface it seems like a recreation of the scene from the original movie. Its reveals Robbie and Miguel as partially the same as both of their teachers. This is why I like this show and how it was written.

Im black and i dated a white girl in middle school who deliberately went out of her way to avoid introducing me to her family,even though id introduced her to my mother. Her biggest answer to why i was never invited to her house was because her dad was racist and didnt want to see his daughter dating a black man and boy when i tell you how much that crushes you as a growing man its impossible to describe. I ended up ending things with her when i came to the conclusion that she just wanted to have a Boyfriend but i knew this had no long term survival as a legitimate couple.
I feel like daniel reacted that way because Terry Silver pulled the same thing on him in Karate kid 3 mike barnes attacked daniel and terry silver jumps in acting like hes protecting Daniel when it was actually just a sick mind game i still didnt like that reaction though

Miguel was TRULY in the wrong, although accidentally context is 20/20, just as much as hindsight, or are they one in the same? Either way, its true. 😊

Miguel was just being petty because he already had a seed of doubt planted in his head about Robby. That and his opinion about Daniel through Johnny's eyes and being drunk for the first time. Drinking doesn’t just cause that, someone touching your girlfriend whether sexual or not would piss any real guy off unless they were hugging as friends, Sam brought Robby to a party where she knew people (one of those people being Miguel) would be getting drunk and wonders why her boyfriend was trying to fight Robby
