I'm in love with this car and I'm typing this while in bed next to my wife. I think this car is perfect. I have a B5 a4 avant.

This car has aged so well. It still looks and performs like a modern car. And the color is outstanding.
I'm still dailying this car, the beloved B5 S4. Just crossed 300,000 km's (186,000 miles) and the thing runs like new! I'm worried that i'll miss it dearly if I sell... :)

I had an a6 with that 2.7t in in and a 6speed manual. I sold it . I regret doing that

@kamionkami1 I finally sold it last year, and it was running very well. About 335,000kms. It was my only car and with a family it was not making sense anymore, as it was often needing small fixes here and there and getting old for a daily. So I bought a cheap daily Civic and am planning to get something fun for a second car so I can have more serious fun with it! The S4 will always be fondly remembered!!

Yep, and the B1-B4 was the Audi 80, the A4's predecessor. Kind of like how BMW labels their cars with E39, E90, F10, F30 etc. Mine had the 2.8 liter v6 engine. I miss the B5, I would take it over the new Audi's any day.
***** True. I liked all the older Audi designs. Too bad that most of them are in junkyards and salvage lots low....
***** My B5 went to the junkyard as well. Deep down, I knew something was wrong with the oil pump..I should have had it looked at while I still had the chance. Would have saved myself a lot of heartbreak. Oh well, ya live and ya learn..
I've been subscribed to Chris' channel for sometime now, and I must say, his S4 is the most perfect one that anybody could ever want. It looks incredibly clean and factory modified, yet can blow the doors off of anything below a supercar. Great video, and you should review his Boxster sometime!

best s4 I've seen! I love that he drives it hard and the car has a oem plus kinda build. I've been subbed to him for along time! Excellent review btw!!!! keep ones like these coming! This car seems like a dream to drive, I have always wanted one but the maintenance kept me away.

Those are B7 S4 stock wheels.
Yeah, I saw the thumbnail, and was immediately like: "Is this Chris' S4?" I remember some of the more recent mods from my time on the Vortex and absolutely adore the car. (I've said to myself on a number of occasions that if it goes up for sale, I want it. Lol)

The buttons aren't hooked up. Someday I might try to make them works.

This is still my favorite vehicle out of the VAG family. The biturbo engine was a monster and tunable to no end. Its unbelievable that Audi went to a V8 for some to the newer generation S4s. I like that he has it tuned so it can still hold its own against most modern sports minded cars of today. Enjoyed watching this.
I'm a big BMW fan owned many different generation M3s.but I've always loved the older S4s/RS4s especially the B5 they are monsters.
I love my nogaro blue B5 S4. The day I bought mine I was beyond excited. I'm about to finally k04 swap my car and go stage 3 👍🏻

awesome review. constructive criticism would be not to take both hands off the wheel while the owner is sat next to you in the passenger seat. that would annoy me if this was my car.

My nogaro blue has 270.000km and still running nice. When the engine is dead I will upgrade to 3lt with big turbo kit.

Fantastic video!!! Chris O's S4 is just about perfect, and his RUclips channel is fantastic. Probably one of the best Audi's that I've ever seen. And it's nice to see him doing some for with Winding Road.

I like the direction the channel is headed. This feels like a POV version of Matt Farah's one takes.
I don't like the v6 and v8 engines ,the 1.8t engine is more reliable and may be slower then the S4 engine ,it has better mpg then the S4 . My dad had a 1999 S4 and that car always had engine problems . I haven't maintain my a4's oil in 3 months and it still turns on , my old 2001 Honda Civic would never turn on if you didn't change the oil every three months .
The 2004 A4 I own is the best car I have ever purchased , the second best being a 1999 Honda Prelude ,which I miss ,that car had HKS headers with AEM spider exhaust system ,it was 220 whp as fast as my A4 .But I sold it for $2500 dollars because I needed the money .

The wheel is custom - the base wheel is from a B8 S4. Nexon Motors then reduces the diameter and makes the rim thicker...and of course adds the carbon.
The airbag should be functional.
Chris O does the steering wheel controls work? I am thinking of buying a B5 A4 1.8T and I want to do a steering wheel swap like yours.

Audi build quality on the bodies is top notch. I owned 20 year old Audi’s in perfect shape Paint and body wise.

not many mods available and let's not talk about the timing chains either.....
EminentLine. Yea since it went to timing chains went to the back of the engine it's a maintenance nightmare. If you want a v8 get a A6 wide body and they have timing belts but it's mounted on the front end. I you got the money Forced induction is the way to go.

Hard to say, but to build something similar yourself you'd probably spend $15k-$20k in modifications.
