This turned out so gorgeous. I can't believe you figured out how to roof that shell and make it look natural! I have such a hard time with roofing.
same, roofing is not my strong point Sims 4 should bring back auto roofing 😉

warning unsolicited thoughts: I don't think you should feel pressured to perform if you don't want show more of yourself, you already give enough to us, if part if the build process has to happen off camera, it's just part if the process for you and that's not our business. I love seeing more of the process and it's cool to see that real time thought process, but I wondered if you struggled more because you felt the need to perform on top of feeling a creative block. We want to see what you want to show us, but don't feel bad if you need time off camera even in the middle of recording. excited to see the rest of vlogmas ♡

Black can certainly be Hampton’s. Not so much in the way that she used it but adding a contemporary take on Hampton’s calls for black.

People don't really live in the Hamptons in these type of houses. These are usually vacation/ second homes for rich people from NYC and NJ.
Was gonna say this. The Hamptons as we think of it is for vacations for people who probably aren’t watching Sims content on RUclips 😂

Deli: I love to create a house for a Sim so I come up with a a storyline. Her storyline is a single lady, no kids living her best life. A couple minutes later. Maybe a kids bedroom here. Hahaha, I love you so much Deli 😂😂

When I first saw the shell I was like "OH NO", and you really turned this build into a beautiful home for a lucky Sim. :)
I love the build! Born and raised in upstate New York, now in Brooklyn and I definitely see the Hampton’s style in this build. I think it’s accurate! I’ve always just called Hampton’s style New England because I feel they are similar but that may just be my family. It’s all just northeast beach style. Hampton’s just usually has the more expensive homes. The beige, blue, greys and whites are spot on.
I always thought of it as New England or Cape Cod style. Very light, airy, and beachy. Blues, whites, grays, and creams, but usually lighter shades. Also sometimes Colonial, minus the brick you’d seen on colonial homes. The Dogs and Cats pack is basically it, just a little “dated”. But as those were the early colonies, many of the homes are pretty old; they’ve just been maintained and renovated over the years.
Btw! That’s not a dream catcher, Deli. That’s macrame art! Dream catchers are from the Ojibwe tribes in North America

The original fireplace was beautiful and I alwaaaaays use it! You can raise up a TV and use moveobjects to place it in front of the mirror bit so you can have the fireplace AND a TV 😻
Deli deli deliiiii I think a LOT of us would buy an tea advent calendar if you made one ! With all you favourite flavors and lots of inside jokes. I know it takes months to plan merch so I'm throwing the idea out here ❤️🥰☕️

I'm in the Southern US, had to look up Hamptons style because I didn't know it was an actual style. lol All I knew was rich people had vacation homes there in New York or somewhere up north.
This reminds me so much of the beach house in Grace and Frankie!

If you moved the stove over to the right one, that little one by two room back there would've been good for a stacked washer and dryer. Love it 😁💖
The one thing to remember about the Hamptons is that it’s filled with rich people. Rich people do whatever they want, therefore you can style it however you like. Obviously nautical themes work, but if it’s screams ‘entitled’ then you did it right. Coming from someone who lives a good 2 hours away from the Hamptons so I don’t really know. The family I work for has a vacation house just north of the Hamptons in the North Fork of Long Island and it’s pretty sweet.
The outdoor fire “nook” was fabulous.
I love the little sitting area you made with the weird triangle room, the fire nook is one of my faves

So happy to watch your build videos, they're always so relaxing :) This gives me Cape Cod style home vibes, which is what I think the Cats & Dogs décor is based off of....also American style, coastal, and on the east-side, so not particularly far off from Hamptons, just slightly different.
Edit: Okay, it was bugging me to know the difference, so I looked it up and apparently Hampton styled homes are based off of Cape Cod styled ones, but they're slightly more contemporary, lol.
You did A great job with this shell Deli…especially the roofing! Love the Aussie Hampton’s aesthetic ❤️❤️. Even though is not modern, it’s still a clean build and the blue on blue is chef’s kiss 😘. Looking forward to tomorrow’s post! 🎄🎄🎄
My mind makes me think "upscale Cape Cod", but without all the boating and fishing accessories. Probably because Brindleton Bay gives me Hallmark-summer movie-overload-Cape Cod/New England-coast vibes rather than USA Network-"Royal Pains"-Hamptons vibes. 😁
I would love to see you do more build types that you don't normally do or are outside of your comfort zone. Whether its style or color palette like modern goth lol idk i’m sure someone else has some better ideas but I think it would be interesting to see you try and what your take on these would be.

I don't know if you've shown Bowser before but this is my first time seeing him. I grew up with a cinnamon chow, his name was Simba and he passed away last year. It was so nice seeing someone else with a chow. they get such a bad rep.
You did some magic here... When you first placed the shell, I honestly didn't think it was possible to turn it into a build. Amazing results!
I love it 😍 The Windows and doors reminds me of my childhood home, and we also had the classic round window up in the middle of the house 😍

I live in Brisbane, I always end up using ceiling fans and even CC Air conditioners. 😂 And rarely remember fireplaces.
It's a macramé hoop not a dreamcatcher. Dreamcatchers are part of North American indigenous culture Ojibwe/Anishinaabe. Dreamcatchers are one hoop wrapped in deer hide cord with sinew tied in a spiderweb pattern inside the hoop. tied to the bottom are feathers that dangle. It's placed in a bedroom (typically a childs) where the light can hit it in the morning. It's to catch bad dreams and the morning light makes them disappear. There is a beautiful story to go along with this that everyone should look into.

I grew up about an hour away from the Hamptons for the first 25 years of my life. Anybody lucky enough to own a home would feel silly living in it because you can earn a small fortune just from renting it out. Also the only people who come to the Hamptons are not from Long Island. I’ve never even been there!
Could you do an “every room is a different aesthetic” build? Dark academia, Y2K, cottagecore, etc. I would love to see what you would do!

I know the Hamptons and Hamptons style homes are widely known, but being from Long Island it's almost jarring to hear you talk about it! Not in a bad way at all, I just feel in a weird way like I'm getting a shout out (and also it's kinda cool how you're from halfway around the world but referencing a place so close to my home)
I also have a tea advent calendar. Tumeric tea isn't so bad. The imagination required to do a shell challenge is amazing..

You did a great job in my opinion. I'm not sure I could have figured out a layout so well.
I also think of shingles-the-virus, not roof shingles. For those who don’t know, it’s the same virus that causes chicken pox! But it’s what adults get and it’s really painful. My uncle had it once.

You can rotate a shell build any way on the lot, so any side can be the front.
Hello from a Long Islander! Classic Hamptons is brown shingles for exterior siding. Interior should be light and beachy, but comfy.
I love this house it turned out really good! The shell looked so hard at first and you really made it amazing
You should combine two challenges do the shell challenge where you place the furniture down first before doing the layout

I would describe this as Coastal New England...more Nantucket/Martha's Vineyard, less Hamptons!
