I was born and lived most of my childhood in Venezuela. We had smooth concrete floors throughout the entire house and on the huge back patio. When we were kids we used to wet the patio down and "ice skate". Come to think of it a lot of our childhood entertainment came from sliding around on those floors. 😂🤣😂
Hi ! I’m studying architecture in France and brutalism can be seen in forms like really sharp and straightforward architecture or in textures/ materials like concrete or untreated wood, stone… Hope this help some of you ;)

It was very popular during the Soviet era so a lot of ex-communist Eastern European countries now have to suffer with the depressing concrete buildings.
This has to be one of my first times watching you. And I am so impressed by how the shell turned out! I was so worried with the style you were going with but I ended up adoring it. This has to be one of my favorite builds. And it's a shell challenge 🤣
i actually used this shell as the base of a haunted manor for the rags to restoration challenge! it turned out so well, i wish i could post it to the gallery but it’s got a lot of cc lol. cool to see how differently you interpreted it! love the creativity of the sims community
brutalism is about a little more than just concrete, it's about minimalist efficiency. brutalism is comprised of straight lines/edges and sharp geometry for quick construction with strong materials. These materials are concrete, brick, glass and timber. the emphasis is not on flashy design, but on simplicity. another great build as always, Deli! i really enjoyed this!
This us the reason why I personally don't like to see CC in a build It's not even do with then I can't download it because I'm on console just that the video is actually more entertaining/engaging/relatable to me when I see things being used that I use myself (in game items) I still love your videos! 🥰
I made this shell challenge into a two story multi family home Japanese apartments. Upstairs was a bit more modern 1 bedroom/1 bath home. While downstairs was more traditional family home with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. During the build my game glitch luckily I remember what I was doing with the build and redid certain parts.
I actually love this build. It’s beautiful! In general though I hate brutalism. It’s so cold and lifeless and I’m personally way more into cluttered like updated Victorian homes
Hey there! Interior design student here :). First off love the build. They key elements with Brutalist design is the simplicity and harsh lines. It came about during the Mid Century period, and it’s simplicity really evolved are the fact rescores at that period were more limited (the war and socioeconomic factors worldwide, as well as trade restrictions). If you enjoy the style I highly suggest looking at some design by Lane, or Paul Evans. Simple, clean lines, with harsh angles, to really emphasize the items, essentially giving the simple design as much visual interest as possible. Your design here has some brutalist elements but actually I’d say falls more into industrial scandi-modern! Regardless amazing as usual. For a brutalist build inspo, look up Ennis House, design by Frank Loyd right I believe in 1942. It’s a true prime example of brutalist architecture!
CC could really help especially if you take inspo from Ennis House. It is in many people opinions a tad bland on the exterior (very beige, but the little details make it beautiful) The interior however is astonishing!!!!

I could never ever live in that kind of style, I love it when it's a little bit crammed, cosy, warm and I need to have all my stuff around myself xD You did great with the design of the house :D Upper-class modern houses in germany do look like this most of the time xD
Watching the show as I do my housework. Mediately noticed when James rubs off on deli. 14:50 Deli uses James batoo Catchphrase. This design is absolutely gorgeous I love it.
I feel like every time Deli does a tour of the house, it's a guessing game whether she kept the kitchen how she made it in the video or completely recolored it jdfksddjjd

When she was doing the kitchen I got a single dad, a tech guy maybe. Possible a widower and it’s minimalistic, but there was an interior decorator who helped him make it more homey for his kid. And since I have been watching Hallmark style movies for three days, he probably falls in love with the decorator.
The thing I would love for The Sims 4 team to work on is that glitch you’re talking about with the roofing. Whenever I make foyers that are open to the second floor, if the roof extends into that space it will show. It’s so annoying. Also, I would LOVE if they could make the roofing a little more customizable. I’m going to try to explain this to the best of my ability… 3 2 1 If you put a pitched roof with the trim normal along the top of your build, and you put another pitched roof perpendicular through your existing roof that stops at the edge of the other roof, I wish the trim could be deleted in that intersection and maybe even clip to the other roof trim and make it look seamless. I don’t know if that makes any sense. AH!
I wouldn’t live in a house this style either. It looks very nice but the vibe I’m getting is like, a lobby of a hotel or bank or some other big building…I’ve even seen that kind of style inside some car dealerships. The kitchen and dining area feels the most home-like to me.
I love this build. I could definitely live in it. But would have to move the TV screen - the glare it would get from light coming through the windows at all times of day! XD

I don’t know why but I imagine a very artsy person living here who is very successful, maybe runs their own business or is a CEO. They can be kinda cold and hard headed but they adopted a teenage girl who needed help, so now they go on little adventures and do bougie stuff like go to local French cafes and art galleries and now the adult has softened and opened up a bit more. Idk just sounds fun!
I had to admit you had me worries a bit at first Deli, with the outside but it looks FABulous! Amazing job on a hard challenge, I think Kayla would be impressed!
I loooove your builds, and your progression over the years in building😍😭 but i’m always so bummed and sad when you skip the floorplan, the floorplan is honestly the most interesting part because it can be so versatile and also hard to figure out, especially in this shell challenge which also is so much about making a floorplan work in a shell already made, i’d wish you to show when u made it 🥺🙏🏻

I turn that diagonal side into an living area with full glass windows and just add some garden on the outside, then close the top with curved platform to "smooth" it out. Then the roof are basically flat roof with different heights using platforms.
I am from PR and we have concrete houses with concrete floors lol I fell down the stairs once and I survived lol so it’s not that bad Loved the video Deli, amazing house 💜
I did brutalist, modern for the shell too! Made it a villain lair for the Villarreal's with a secret surveillance garage and most of the house in a basement!
Plss do the "honeycomb "build challenge in ts4. It is where u make a honeycomb shape build 3D -ish and every square is a room as if it were to be a regular-shaped home with rooms. U can also search on the web for more details abt it. But u would do amazing in that challenge :)
Should do something like this same concept but the builder(simsi) adds a few random things in the house. You have to use it, can change where you use it but you can't get rid of it.
Love the build! I personally wouldn't ever go for a brutalist home, but I am quite a fan of wabi sabi. I'm not super knowledgeable about architecture styles, but it seems like they can share a few similarities in materials and so a similar aesthetics (with interiors especially) can carry over a bit.

I don't know much about houses and styles but I like cottage house and like a dark academia vibe house. I don't know, I either want it to be colorful or bland (brown)

Ok but if you use that coffee table one more time I’m gonna rage quit RUclips 😂😂😂 Loved the initial large wooden square one, and when you picked that horrendous 80s rock again, I literally said, “NOOO!” out loud hahahaha. Really love the exterior, though, and the dark bathrooms!

yeh my grandparents live in bangladesh and thats how their floors are smooth concrete. isnt that bad and especially with the heat it works better

You can fix that glitch by using one of the more narrow roof trims, and the roof wont show through the wall

Our basement was unfinished when I was growing up so it was concrete. I could draw on the walls and floor with chalk and create my own little world
