Silicon Valley where I am right now is full of "I'm better than you because I have more education" snobs. All that extra education usually does not translate into wealth or capability here. How much education one achieves in life is typically due to opportunity generated by the wealth of their parents. Of course a woman who grew up poor in Isan is not going to be as educated as this snob. But she is very likely going to be a much better person.

The thing is she probably went by a guy like this several times already. But every time something prevented their spark: 1. She was occupied by her work duties and had no time for any private life 2. He had some hard time and was not in the mood to approach her 3. Either or both of them were in a relationship A lot of pieces have to come into their places in order to a random meeting produce a spark of the mutual interest. @@fkscopes I tried to date a Thai woman - it is not easy. Firstly, their Thaiglish is so hard to understand that she had to repeat everything 2-3 times. It makes any meaningful conversation a torture. Secondly, the majority of Thai women are poorly educated and we have very little to talk about. It is boring to talk about food all the time and we had very little else to discuss. So, when the dating is reduced to going out to a café/restaurant or shopping, it becomes boring quickly. Yes, we can find a young Thai woman but her young beauty is her literally only virtue

When I lived in Sweden, American, English and Australian women would come there and get really upset. They all said the same exact thing, "I don't like all these beautiful Swedish girls everywhere"! They couldn't manipulate men like in their home countries.. and they were getting a dose of what it was like to be a man where they came from.
Firstly I have to say that many men retire overseas because they have no ties in/to their cold, wet and expensive home country, which has very little to do with the women. Secondly I'd say that she is the perfect example of why men are leaving Western countries to meet women elsewhere. Whilst she is quite pretty, she has very masculine traits which most men find very unattractive, if they have options. She's aggressive, loud and opinionated, which are not feminine traits... Added to that, she comes across as a typical narcissist. She doesn't appear to understand that men and women are different and they're attracted by different things, so a kind, caring, feminine and pretty woman is more attractive than a highly educated, masculine woman, for most men. It's like saying men like petite women, so why don't women like petite men... So a guy that moves away from their own country usually has a reliable income stream (or savings) which means they're pretty successful by western standards. Make no mistake, there are many sad sacks that move to TH. Usually men broken by divorce. But a very large proportion of western men that retire outside their home country are definately not 'losers' by western standards, except by a few ill-informed bigoted women.
I feel secure in Thailand. In the U.S. there are so many crazy people running loose i never leave home without carrying a gun. Here i have never felt the need to carry a firearm.
Or these men are just bottom of the barrel losers. They are fat, bald, old and ugly. No multiple college degrees. Speak only one language and are not professionals, with decades of experience in their specialty like a lawyer, doctor, dentist, accountant. If you make $250,000 a year salary, good looking, full head of hair and slim, then you will be desired by every woman in your home country and society will value you. These losers are just plain losers to the core, who are unable to cut it in the West.
I have the impression that Natasha's main problem is not the three categories of men who serve as a deterrent example, but that she projects her acquired expectations from the professional world onto a life that is incompatible with the way of the corporate world. According to her statements, she needs an educated, successful and competent man. Her ideas most likely coincide with those of her old profession, where she was surrounded by career men. To find someone like that in a life concept that is focused on exit and minimalism is counterproductive. If not a complete illusion. Example: I know Germans in Thailand who immigrated to enjoy the beautiful, serene life here, but after a while are just nagging because Thailand doesn’t have German punctuality and accuracy. So, they actually want to have their Germany, but with laissez-faire at 30 degrees Celsius. Germans live to work, and Thais work to live. You can't have both at the same time. The same seems to be the case with Natascha. She is searching for a man with the characteristics of the corporate world, but who should be easy going. How is this supposed to work? A few more thoughts would be; what does Natasha judge as success? Why does she demean the suffering of men who have gone through a difficult divorce? Why does she mock people with mental problems? Those who judge others place themselves above them. There is a whole abyss between criticizing and judging. But this leads to the second main point of my observation about Natasha: she is most interested in herself, and also speaks exclusively about herself, and her needs. What does she give to the man in exchange? An educated, successful woman loses her attractiveness if she rotates exclusively around herself. This can also be an occupational disease, but in any case, something she could think about. Because such selfishness leaves nothing for others. In general, “sophisticated” Western women are sophisticated not because they meet higher expectations (and deliver them), but because they take for granted that men must admire and adore them simply for having a degree or a career (or nowadays, just being a woman is enough). Many men emigrate and seek women in other parts of the world because they experience women who give them the attention that is human and warm. And that includes intelligence and competence. In short; Natasha should ask herself if in her negative assessments towards others, she is not only looking at herself. It would be a great gain to her, if she reconsiders her value system, and if necessary corrects it. For the benefit of all. People (in this case, men) are not commodities for the fulfillment of selfish needs. This is also true the other way around. PS: I will add this tongue in cheek: Western women here are pretty terrible. They can't find a man at home and come here to complain about it ;)

The reality is that a non LBH as she categorises men if we do the same we are called out for it. But anyway a successful educated rich man her age would not be interested in her full stop. Why would they want to deal with all of that. While doing some yoga she really needs to do some internal soul searching and try looking at herself from a different perspective. Latvia was dirt poor when Natalija was born, but women still fell in love, even though most of the men there would have been earning a pittance compared to Western European salaries. So, here we have a lady from a country (Latvia) where ladies are typically incredibly beautiful, has been in UK where she probably had tonnes of options etc and lots of guys constantly asking her out. reminds me of my old airport job. travelers whose occupation was doctor of medicine seemed to always find a way to make it known to us at check in. it changed nothing and had zero relevance to the flight yet inevitably would throw it into the small talk. after a while, when it was a couple, i would say to the wife: (it always was the man that needlessly mentioned their medical job) why do they always need to tell us their work? got the same reaction every time. the wife would smirk but held back a larger laugh. the conceited doctor husband would remain silent but their face and staring eyes would speak volumes...of indignation, exasperation and outrage. always funny. in contrast, a similar encounter with a traveling lawyer would nearly always result in them telling me a lawyer joke. i found that with no arrogance coming into play we would all continue our days in a more positive mood than before we chatted.

I have two friends that married Thai woman in their own countries around 20 years ago. They have now retired to Thailand. I wouldn't call them losers at all, nor do they have mental issues. I have a Thai partner for 10 months I met by chance in Thailand, not through any tourist areas, she's a nurse and a similar age to me. Ive been coming to Thailand for years and enjoyed traveling around the country, the last place I'd want to live is Phuket or Pattaya. I'm now retiring here. I've been married and have been single for years now and never thought of having a Thai girlfriend or getting married again. It was by chance I met this Thai woman and we just clicked, we are of similar temperament, enjoy the same things and actually like each other. When we go out it is common for her to pay for me, she isn't interest in money or for me to buy her things...in fact anything at all. We both treat each other with respect. I do see men from time to time that do fit her description of losers but I think its dangerous to generalise. It appalls me how some men here treat their Thai girlfriends then they wonder why they leave them blaming them as just gold diggers, I've witnessed this quite a few times.

I lived in Thailand for 6 years. They were the best years of my life. Western men going to Thailand are "NOT LOSERS" they simply want a life that most western countries cannot provide.
My wife is rich in her own right when i met her, but i never asked her financial status and she never asked mine. We only discussed it after we married a year after meeting. I worked hard and have been very successful in my careers so i have an excellent retirement.

Having watched countless Thairish videos, and thoroughly enjoyed your wife's perspective and contributions, I'm shocked at her attitude. I don't know where she's been in Thailand, and yes, in those tourist areas she has mentioned, there are vibrant red light districts. There are red light districts in almost every country in the world! Anyway, your patience and steadfast nature are truly admirable! Keep up the great interviews.

My Thai mom is an orthodontist with multiple practices in the US. My white dad helps her run the business by taking phone calls. Not the norm I know but my mom's tenacious. Thai and proud.
In the video, she said she doesn’t approach guys because she's traditional but based on everything she said previously, she isn't a traditional woman, she's an independent woman. More often than not, "traditional" just means "I'm too lazy and arrogant to go for what I want so I'll just complain about how terrible men are".

Here's a challenge for the DBWBH: After watching the video in its entirety (that means a thing called context, yay!), form a logically-sound argument as to why this subjective (and pretty universally-shared opinion) from someone (who has actually lived in the country) is wrong.

Firstly, their Thaiglish is so hard to understand that she had to repeat everything 2-3 times.
It makes any meaningful conversation a torture.
Secondly, the majority of Thai women are poorly educated and we have very little to talk about.
It is boring to talk about food all the time and we had very little else to discuss.
So, when the dating is reduced to going out to a café/restaurant or shopping, it becomes boring quickly.

Reading the comments allowed me to tolerate this to the end.
Firstly I have to say that many men retire overseas because they have no ties in/to their cold, wet and expensive home country, which has very little to do with the women.
Secondly I'd say that she is the perfect example of why men are leaving Western countries to meet women elsewhere. Whilst she is quite pretty, she has very masculine traits which most men find very unattractive, if they have options. She's aggressive, loud and opinionated, which are not feminine traits... Added to that, she comes across as a typical narcissist.
She doesn't appear to understand that men and women are different and they're attracted by different things, so a kind, caring, feminine and pretty woman is more attractive than a highly educated, masculine woman, for most men. It's like saying men like petite women, so why don't women like petite men...
So a guy that moves away from their own country usually has a reliable income stream (or savings) which means they're pretty successful by western standards.

I feel secure in Thailand. In the U.S. there are so many crazy people running loose i never leave home without carrying a gun. Here i have never felt the need to carry a firearm.
Or these men are just bottom of the barrel losers. They are fat, bald, old and ugly. No multiple college degrees. Speak only one language and are not professionals, with decades of experience in their specialty like a lawyer, doctor, dentist, accountant. If you make $250,000 a year salary, good looking, full head of hair and slim, then you will be desired by every woman in your home country and society will value you. These losers are just plain losers to the core, who are unable to cut it in the West.
I have the impression that Natasha's main problem is not the three categories of men who serve as a deterrent example, but that she projects her acquired expectations from the professional world onto a life that is incompatible with the way of the corporate world. According to her statements, she needs an educated, successful and competent man. Her ideas most likely coincide with those of her old profession, where she was surrounded by career men. To find someone like that in a life concept that is focused on exit and minimalism is counterproductive. If not a complete illusion.
Example: I know Germans in Thailand who immigrated to enjoy the beautiful, serene life here, but after a while are just nagging because Thailand doesn’t have German punctuality and accuracy. So, they actually want to have their Germany, but with laissez-faire at 30 degrees Celsius. Germans live to work, and Thais work to live. You can't have both at the same time.
The same seems to be the case with Natascha. She is searching for a man with the characteristics of the corporate world, but who should be easy going. How is this supposed to work?
A few more thoughts would be; what does Natasha judge as success? Why does she demean the suffering of men who have gone through a difficult divorce? Why does she mock people with mental problems? Those who judge others place themselves above them. There is a whole abyss between criticizing and judging.
But this leads to the second main point of my observation about Natasha: she is most interested in herself, and also speaks exclusively about herself, and her needs. What does she give to the man in exchange? An educated, successful woman loses her attractiveness if she rotates exclusively around herself. This can also be an occupational disease, but in any case, something she could think about. Because such selfishness leaves nothing for others.
In general, “sophisticated” Western women are sophisticated not because they meet higher expectations (and deliver them), but because they take for granted that men must admire and adore them simply for having a degree or a career (or nowadays, just being a woman is enough). Many men emigrate and seek women in other parts of the world because they experience women who give them the attention that is human and warm. And that includes intelligence and competence.
In short; Natasha should ask herself if in her negative assessments towards others, she is not only looking at herself. It would be a great gain to her, if she reconsiders her value system, and if necessary corrects it. For the benefit of all.
People (in this case, men) are not commodities for the fulfillment of selfish needs. This is also true the other way around.
PS: I will add this tongue in cheek: Western women here are pretty terrible. They can't find a man at home and come here to complain about it ;)

@@nikkimclay5474 Spot on it pretty much summed her up when she said this. Am sure in her 20's she got lots of attention and now that doesn't happen so she needs to blame the men for her situation. The reality is that a non LBH as she categorises men if we do the same we are called out for it. But anyway a successful educated rich man her age would not be interested in her full stop. Why would they want to deal with all of that. While doing some yoga she really needs to do some internal soul searching and try looking at herself from a different perspective. And surrounding herself with gf's who have her same perspective is not helping its just validating her warped out look. A follow up interview in 5 years would be great am picking still single.

A real red flag right there. She's the sort that would do a runner once a better deal is on offer in a relationship or she has been mistreated badly in the past. Latvia was dirt poor when Natalija was born, but women still fell in love, even though most of the men there would have been earning a pittance compared to Western European salaries. I don't recall Natalija mentioning the sort of personality she finds attractive; nor did she talk much about values such as integrity, decency, and fairness, that a woman might be looking for in a man - interesting interview Pete, but hard going, at times.

I think she is very high maintenance and her personality is too strong. When she gets older and evolves as a person she will realize that it’s her personality that has lead to her loneliness and childless life. Actually she is missing out on having kids which is the single best thing that I have done only second to running a medical business with my dr wife. reminds me of my old airport job. travelers whose occupation was doctor of medicine seemed to always find a way to make it known to us at check in. it changed nothing and had zero relevance to the flight yet inevitably would throw it into the small talk.
after a while, when it was a couple, i would say to the wife: (it always was the man that needlessly mentioned their medical job) why do they always need to tell us their work?
got the same reaction every time. the wife would smirk but held back a larger laugh. the conceited doctor husband would remain silent but their face and staring eyes would speak volumes...of indignation, exasperation and outrage. always funny.
in contrast, a similar encounter with a traveling lawyer would nearly always result in them telling me a lawyer joke. i found that with no arrogance coming into play we would all continue our days in a more positive mood than before we chatted.

I have two friends that married Thai woman in their own countries around 20 years ago. They have now retired to Thailand. I wouldn't call them losers at all, nor do they have mental issues. I have a Thai partner for 10 months I met by chance in Thailand, not through any tourist areas, she's a nurse and a similar age to me. Ive been coming to Thailand for years and enjoyed traveling around the country, the last place I'd want to live is Phuket or Pattaya. I'm now retiring here. I've been married and have been single for years now and never thought of having a Thai girlfriend or getting married again. It was by chance I met this Thai woman and we just clicked, we are of similar temperament, enjoy the same things and actually like each other. When we go out it is common for her to pay for me, she isn't interest in money or for me to buy her things...in fact anything at all. We both treat each other with respect. I do see men from time to time that do fit her description of losers but I think its dangerous to generalise. It appalls me how some men here treat their Thai girlfriends then they wonder why they leave them blaming them as just gold diggers, I've witnessed this quite a few times.

I lived in Thailand for 6 years. They were the best years of my life. Western men going to Thailand are "NOT LOSERS" they simply want a life that most western countries cannot provide.
My wife is rich in her own right when i met her, but i never asked her financial status and she never asked mine. We only discussed it after we married a year after meeting. I worked hard and have been very successful in my careers so i have an excellent retirement.

Having watched countless Thairish videos, and thoroughly enjoyed your wife's perspective and contributions, I'm shocked at her attitude. I don't know where she's been in Thailand, and yes, in those tourist areas she has mentioned, there are vibrant red light districts. There are red light districts in almost every country in the world! Anyway, your patience and steadfast nature are truly admirable! Keep up the great interviews.
