I've got a bunch of stories of these fools building houses for these women here in Thailand and they get throwin out. They're not even bar girls. It's the older generation. The guys younger than me would never get married or bring them back to their home countries. You bring the Phillipinas back too and half of them run off. They were not even bar girls either. There's an old saying, "If it flies, floats or F'ks you're better off renting" . Don't marry western waaahmen either. They're toxic and end up divorce raping you.
Often the men that do this are kind of lonely types who don’t have much luck with the ladies in their home country, or they’re older pensioners. Dare I say, some are flawed loser types (not at all saying this is always the case). But they’re not necessarily great guys all the time, as he describes in this video.

My Thai ex fiancee was the same, she didn't want to come to Australia. Family is so important to her. I was a Family Lawyer for 30 years. I had a client come in asking me to Draft a Pre Nuptial Agreement, he was planning to marry a Thai Bar Girl. This man was in his 50s, he had never married, he was very, very, very, wealthy. I gave him both barrels, he explained the situation. I then proposed a radical restructuring of his business and assets, luckily he was the co-owner of his business with his brother, so I was able to re-structure very creatively. I also drew up the Pre Nup. She took the Agreement to an Independent lawyer and signed it, they married, she got pregnant within 3 months. Fast forward a few years, his son plays with my grandson, they are often visitors in my home, they even come to stay at our weekender. The lady is a wonderful woman, a great wife from what I can observe and he is ecstatic. His brother loves her, his brothers wife and kids love her. They visit Thailand regularly. I do stress, she is a great woman.

@@portlandGTR Interesting comparison, but with respect, not really comparable or relevant. Let me explain. Of course there are seasoned pros that have been in the game a long time, and it is far too easy to throw all in the same stereotype. They're also quite easy to spot. What is interesting is that if you (not you personally of course), the proverbial you, walk around with your eyes open and are observant, as well as being able to judge people well, you will know that there are a lot of such women, who are not there for a career as a bar girl. The turnover is very high. Many don't last long. One of the biggest take aways is a comparison of the industry with that which exists in the west. You would almost never hear of someone in the industry dating someone they 'met at work', let alone marrying them and starting a family, yet in Thailand, for many, that is their end goal, and it is a path that is well established. I think that is my main point, is that people from the west, often bring their own preconceived ideas with them, based on what they know from home, without understanding that the culture in Thailand is very different indeed. I've heard many a sob story of men that have been completely taken in, and taken advantage of, even saw a fellow tourist, now a friend of more than 14 years, absolutely fall for the girl he met, but, and maybe it is just me, I've had a very interesting life, and a very interesting career path, dealing with people from all walks of life in a myriad of circumstances, but people open up to me. I've had detailed conversations with many, telling me that they've been married before, some that have a kid back home, others, for whom this is (at that time) genuinely their first season. I know what you're thinking, but seeing how the bar manager was coaching the newbies, confirmed who was new, who was experienced etc. I did actually, on my last stay, take the manager out a few times, and stay at her place, I genuinely got the inside scoop of a lot of things. To close, you are right, in your example, the fully tatted, drinks every night, is seasoned. Being able to afford loads of tattoos, the money has to come from somewhere, and we know where. Drinks every night, 35 yrs old, loads of tattoos, those are 3 red flags straight away. Avoid at all costs.
@@SeanHendyeveryone is different, and can never paint everything with the same brush. It’s possible to get lucky and find a good girl, but I don’t go to a tire shop to buy milk. Totally agree, saw plenty of men taking back home these ladies met in bars or freelancers, thinking to save them. You taking back drama, problems, issues, lies back with you. They are used to eat every day papaya salad, do you really believe they like steak, pasta, or sofisticated cuisine to impress? Nahhh no way. They use the bill to show on their socials to their friends to show how their life is better than the other, show off only. Also to mention, if relationship goes bad, i heard many girls, wanted desperately to go Switzerland, and then came back in 3 months, even rejecting gifts, dont like the weather, food, alone, miss 7/11, family, friends...when they back to Thailand, guess what they gonna end up doing? back to freelancers. Yes, you heard right. No love there guys...
You right when honeymoon is over , all you got left is personality , if the woman doesn’t make you happy whenever you need to talk to someone, is not worth it no matter how pretty she is , she’s the devil in disguise
To provide a different example with similar outcomes: Not that long ago, ok, who am I kidding, it's got to be at least 15-20 years ago, when we still had a sizeable Army presence in Germany, there were all kinds of problems with soldiers and marriages. Typically, many young soldiers, would be in their Regiment or Unit, living in the Block, and there were 2 scenarios that were quite common: 1) young soldier had a girl back home, and at some point when home on leave, pops the question, and gets married, one of the consequences of which (that could be motivations rather than consequence) is that he gets to leave the block, and move into an apartment or house, provided by the Army. More freedom, more privacy. The downside, is that 19 year old Tracy from Newcastle, had barely been out of the country before this, in fact she had to get a passport in order to follow her new husband, and now she is in a country completely alien and unfamiliar to her, she doesn't speak the language, doesn't know anyone, and the food is different. Sound familiar? 2) young soldier starts to see a young fraulein, locally, that he decides is the one, pops the question and gets married. The same thing happens, he moves out of the block into apartment/house, and all is peachy, he even has a live in interpreter now, that speaks the language, and knows the culture, and all is well. Until..... his posting ends and he gets posted, or the Regiment relocate, and now they are in Scotland, or Catterick, or Aldershot, and now, young fraulein, is in a country that is unfamiliar to her, she doesn't know anyone, the food is different, she can't buy any of the things she used to, there's less money to go round (there was an extra allowance paid to soldiers serving in Germany and it added up), the culture is strange, and she doesn't know as much of the language as she thought she did..... Like many things in life, if you go running headlong into something without considering the consequences or changes you're going to have to make, then your odds of being happy or it lasting, rapidly decrease. It also helps, for the men at least, to think with the big head and not the little head.
I agree man. I was stationed in baumholder, for out 4 years ago and planned on staying in country because I didn't care for america. But I knew 💯 that it wouldn't work for me bringing a girl back to the states into a culture where she has no social, cultural support. I can adapt anywhere, i don't expect the same of the women I deal with
Where can I find more with this man? I wanna listen to him for hours! What an amazing person with a real voice and wit to tell stories and capture the essence of the whole picture. Is he on any other channels? If not can you please do a part 2 or even 3, 4-10 with him? What a fantastic episode man

We’re staying at the Four Seasons by the river. I don’t know if Chris’ nephew would be available or if you know someone else. Thanks Pete and keep up the great work.
Don’t forget about the “simp” factor. Those simps will never tell anyone the hell that they go through and live for lifetimes, just “to make it work.” The suffering is never worth it.
Intelligent and wise man. Nice to hear that there are always 2 sides to the story. Some RUclipsrs just tell the awful Thai Girl Stories when there are so many awful Western Men who come over here, for example, lie about loving them and knock them up and then abandon their responsibility. Next thing you know the Khun Yai is raising her child and the Thai Girl has to go work in the city and send the money back to the Isaan Village. And many end up in the bars. What can you expect her to do?
Rapidity of finding, and using, a variety of good vocabulary. And he uses lilting tones, even in English. But 'being fluent' to many people is not often really being fluent.

How very true, totally agree! been married to a Thai woman 10 years now and when we meet she could not speak any English except for "hello how are you" I think that helped our relationship as we had to make sure we each understood what we where trying to convey to each other , she raised 2 handicapped children on her own in Bangkok and never worked in a bar, you have to be committed to the relationship and have patience for it to work with a woman from a non English country. Paul has some great stories and Im sure there is plenty he could/would tell off camera
When I first come to Thailand I jumped on the bar scene I thought that’s all there was to offer here then you meet a normal working thai women and it’s like there is two different universes running parallel in Thailand 🤣 bar girl easy to keep happy normal Thai wow seriously hard work in regards to expectations of behavior but show love and loyalty that does not exist anymore in the west
In the long run it's a very silly move to marry a bar girl. Been going there for 35 years. It's almost guaranteed to end badly. Likely once they're eligible to stay in the foreign country permanently they'll divorce, when they see greener pastures. A big part of being a successful bar girl is being able to deceive the customer. And it'll be very costly, as most aren't isually qualified to do anything else for work.
Complain about the bar and club girls in your own country, yet go to other countries and hit the bar and clubs, this is hilarious! Engaging in sex tourism still makes you a garbage person.....
I know two men married in Thailand. They both have/had wonderful wives. One of them lost his wife. He still loves her and always will so much that he dosen't want anybody to say her name if it's not him. R.I.P. Beautiful 💐❤️🔥
Good job. My background in SE Asia is from 1983. Most Brits and Germans (overall do not get Thais) yet they're little head takes over the big head). Australian living here again , middle east ,and UK for 30 years. If you really love your Thai girl....Best advice is keep Thais with their family and friends in Thailand . Farang's job is support (cash), touch and love. Never had an Asian wife/partner all my life, only brit, kiwi, and Australian . I do now, a first for me . Remember , even today, there is no middle class in Thailand. 95% of bar girls are from the concervative north east . Sabai Sabai to all men and women. You need to stay away from the west if you love your girl and wish for longevity . Just info from my experiences though work and travel . Risky business boys. Keep it real and transactional for a hassle free life😅
Exception to the rule: My Thai wife (not a bar girl) of 29 years lives in the UK, works, pays for all the food, and doesn't want to live in Thailand. Lots of Thais here and none of them want to return to Thailand and they are all nice, honest and don't gamble, drink and are faithful. And she spoke good English when I met her. She is fluent now, speaking, reading, writing and drives everywhere, the gym, shoppings etc.
Sounds good. A "manager " l never liked the word pimp, that's what i,m going to do ,become a "manager" have a respectful job managing a team of ladies as "sales reps "👍👍
Pete ,have you thought about a comic con for your regulars?I can see Paul , Steve Rosse , Tony ,Bangkok Pat sitting at desks with subscribers lining up to buy books and get autographs ?
Bang on point Paul is….hope all of the men watching that video get a real eye opener of how it works with the bar girls….just the same here in my country of Ireland I no a few Thai girls and they do exactly what paul said… they meet up and drink & gamble… all of them in there late 30s and early 40s all looking washed up there is one particular girl in that group. She was stunning when she was in her 20s, but not now that same girl would ask the pope of Rome for money… wise up boys…😂😂
Not mentioned the money lending at 10% per month if you are lucky that goes on, not mentioned some of these girls are still at their former profession, where a loss at cards can be paid off by a short time in an upstairs bedroom, not mentioned Thais charging other Thais for the use of the upstairs bedroom. Not mentioned other normal riap roy Thai girls can smell these bargirls a mile off and avoid them like the plague, they know the problems they bring. Not mentioned these mamasans usually recruit from their home villages, where they are treated like royalty, not mentioned debts to be paid off. So much more that could be mentioned but wasn’t. Almost forgot, there will always be a queen bee type that the other girls will refer to as auntie. My best advice avoid the queen bee type like the plague.
These sort of relationships are obviously not based on equality. Any relationship where one partner forbids, demands, the other not do something is clearly toxic and should not continue.
It’s a two way street, have a look at how some of these farang living upcountry are treated by their isaan princess wife’s. The farang can’t speak the language, can’t eat the food, he isn’t used to communal living when the family move in, he is fed a diet of bs and lies about Thai culture. He wonders where the mood swings and demands for money came from, this isnt the life he was promised. As you say a clearly toxic relationship makes me wonder why these guys put up its it.

I’ve definitely taken a few back with me to my condo and enjoyed every single one of those encounters. I have respect for them all even if I wouldn’t get into a relationship with one.
So they're marrying women 40 or 50 years younger than them, out of the goodness of their hearts? Yeah right.
Paul is a true gem I could listen to him all day. Even love his snaggle tooth. It adds to his uniqueness.
You never get rich through money - only by experience
That's why we like to listen to him
However, no money no honey, han$um man … 🎉
This guy is a legend of the channel. Knows his stuff and communicates it well
To provide a different example with similar outcomes:
Not that long ago, ok, who am I kidding, it's got to be at least 15-20 years ago, when we still had a sizeable Army presence in Germany, there were all kinds of problems with soldiers and marriages.
Typically, many young soldiers, would be in their Regiment or Unit, living in the Block, and there were 2 scenarios that were quite common:
1) young soldier had a girl back home, and at some point when home on leave, pops the question, and gets married, one of the consequences of which (that could be motivations rather than consequence) is that he gets to leave the block, and move into an apartment or house, provided by the Army.
What a fantastic episode man
here's a playlist of every interview I've done with him ruclips.net/p/PL8lk4tQnDinC4IXR48j7dUSUojDzkCzU9&si=QzMldk8omUVuFCAU
This is a bloody good video. Well done both of you Pete and Paul,.
Paul is a true legend, with good, basic human reflexions.. ❤
Great interview as always Pete - love Paul too for his direct, explicate, and real commentary.
Loving Paul's insights and opinions!! Long live Thailand 🇹🇭
Excellent interviewer! I subbed....he has good timing and asks sound questions....he listens with his audience. That is a talent...not full of ego
Your conversations with PAUL are among your best videos. Very very good work.
He is incredibly knowledgeable and you two just click and make it work .
Be well .
Thanks buddy
Great interview. Great stories. Loved the "sell by date" line. Will have to use that one 😂😂😂
Liked. Subbed. Looking for more.
Another interesting vlog with Paul. He knows his stuff and well done for helping the Thai lady with good advice on what she needs to do.
Paul's a cool guy, would listen to him all day of his stories of Thailand and the Thais.
Paul is great man I have learnt alot from him he is great story teller I could listen him hours
Very sensible and realistic views of transactional relationships between western and foreign people.
I love this cat! Enjoy his stories. So interesting! And I also enjoy your videos,Thairish times. 🙏🏽❤️
Thank you!
Paul is really wise.
Respect to him.
Great video, Pete. I could listen to Paul all day!
Hi Pete, I’ll be in Bangkok with my partner from Dec 29-Jan 2 and was wondering if you know someone (who we would pay) to give us a half or full day orientation tour of the city on December 30? We’re staying at the Four Seasons by the river. I don’t know if Chris’ nephew would be available or if you know someone else. Thanks Pete and keep up the great work.
Thanks for creating and sharing
Don’t forget about the “simp” factor. Those simps will never tell anyone the hell that they go through and live for lifetimes, just “to make it work.” The suffering is never worth it.
Wise words from Paul - and thanks for helping that trapped Thai sister out .
Another great video....thanks guys!!!!
Love the collaboration between you two, hope there's more to come. All the best nevertheless!
absolutely mate, definitely more to come
I love your interviews with this guy. Very real and down to earth.
Fantastic interview. Paul is really great.
There is something about this guy's speech that tells me he is a natural language learner.
Please elaborate
Rapidity of finding, and using, a variety of good vocabulary. And he uses lilting tones, even in English. But 'being fluent' to many people is not often really being fluent.
@@andyharpist2938 I'm fluent in Thai sir
@@PaulWalliswriter Then you are special Paul. And have a unique gift that is the envy of many others. To achieve complete mastery of a language is a rare thing. I wonder what you might say is the key to learning? Marrying it might be a great help. Congratulations.
Excellent video pete, love paul fantastic guy. Are ya back in bkk full time now?
Not full time bud, someday though
Great interview as always Pete
Thanks so much
This guy is gold. He's been there and done it. Credit to him
I am absolutely impressed by this man. A well of wisdom. If only he could allocate a little more of his resources to taking care of his denatl health, I`d vote him the interviewee of the year.😉
Give it a rest putz...if he doesn't care about his "denatl health" why do you?
And stop smoking. So many farang men in Thailand smoke … ☠️
I do enjoy listening to Paul, but having a pop at us baldies, there is nothing you can do about losing your hair (apart from wearing a wig or a comb over) but you can do something with your teeth, I'm sure a lot of women would prefer a guy with teeth than no hair ......😁
@@fabulousfreddyisready🙄
I lived in thailand for 11 yrs back in the uk with my thai wife for 11 yrs. Met her at a go go dancing 22 yr gap.im more embarrassed by the age gap. She works 6 days a week keeps every penny which suits me. Got more friends than me. Goes home for 2 months every yr. I like the peace. Pretty much a perfect relationship. I know I'm one of the lucky ones. So many of people I know have lost everything. The visas the expensive is the only problem.
Absolutely amazing interview fellas. And one that I think a lot of us has been anticipating for a while now?! You guys seem to have a really good connection, and the interview just flows with a fantastic energy. Pete your questions were on point as always. And Paul's answer's are always as factual as they are intriguing. Great work as always my friend. How did you wedding go? I hope you guys and your families had the most incredible day! So you you back in Ireland now? Or still in the land of smiles? Top man! Liam 👍🏻
Cheers Liam, back in Ireland now looking forward to Christmas. Wedding was great craic here’s a video we made ruclips.net/video/9bbkRs5E1og/видео.htmlsi=_CRBqiOGgqGUtAem in true Thairish Times fashion the day was a mix of Thai and Irish culture
Good information from Paul as usual! Well done Pete!
Great Video! Thank you!
He's got awesome insights & storytelling
I loved listening to his stories.
you should do a video about Dental Work with Paul ... seems he knows everything else except for looking after his teeth ..... 55555
38 years in Thailand and not even 1 visit to the dentist 😂
He likes soup only
What are you on about mate? His tooth looks fine to me.

@@shadmo8629-Excellent. Think positive.
This guy is the best.
Always a great interview with Paul.
Left their brain at arrivals…..555.
Paul has many life experiences and sound advise
When I first come to Thailand I jumped on the bar scene I thought that’s all there was to offer here then you meet a normal working thai women and it’s like there is two different universes running parallel in Thailand 🤣 bar girl easy to keep happy normal Thai wow seriously hard work in regards to expectations of behavior but show love and loyalty that does not exist anymore in the west
Good on him for helping that poor girl.
Good Story. Paul is completely Right. You are a Good example Pete, it can be good, because Nune is not a Bar Girl and has her own Job and her Life. 🙏
Where is the fishing lake Paul ? where the interview was held at. Thanks
I'd love to see a video with 'Vlogging a dead horse' channel, that'd be fun
Desperation is the English way
Quiet desperation is the English way ..
Very interesting interview….. thanks man
This gentleman is very smart. Good advice for men.
My buddy married a Thai gal in the 70’s. She treated him like a king.
lucky
Things have changed a lot from the 70s.
Those days are gone!
I hope he treated her like a queen back
Very good interview
Keep it real and transactional for a hassle free life😅
Great interview
Exception to the rule: My Thai wife (not a bar girl) of 29 years lives in the UK, works, pays for all the food, and doesn't want to live in Thailand. Lots of Thais here and none of them want to return to Thailand and they are all nice, honest and don't gamble, drink and are faithful. And she spoke good English when I met her. She is fluent now, speaking, reading, writing and drives everywhere, the gym, shoppings etc.
Pays for all the food lol. You cheap mofo.
Soi Dog is a legend!!! Love Frosty!!! 2024
Great honest story teller
The wisdom of ol' 1 tooth
This lad tells an absolutely fantastic story 👏👏🙌🙌
I see Paul. I click.
Sounds good. A "manager " l never liked the word pimp, that's what i,m going to do ,become a "manager" have a respectful job managing a team of ladies as "sales reps "👍👍
Well Done Paul for helping that girl!
38 years in Thailand and 38 years since he's been to a dentist lol 😆 😅 😂 😜 🤣
And a drug test would account for the beady bloodshot eyes.
Have an uncle that looks similar to him also teeth is incomplete.
Lmao Pete still putting out good content, thanks for the laughs guys
Don't let a woman take over your life. Make money and support your family 💯
Pete ,have you thought about a comic con for your regulars?I can see Paul , Steve Rosse , Tony ,Bangkok Pat sitting at desks with subscribers lining up to buy books and get autographs ?
Haha that would be a sell out
@@ThairishTimes Yes , but think of the billboards.
Fantastic, both of you.
When u interview Pual, l'll always watch. He's a cool guy.
Good interview
great interview, wann know more
Great videos mate!
Cheers mate
I did all of my research before visiting Thailand.......vlogs like this should be mandatory before a visa is issued 555 🙏🏻
Does he work in MR DIY? If not, where did he get his shirt. I’d like one.
that was an excellent interveiw. that bloke was very knowlable.
Such great insight and advice. This guy is a legend.
How billionaire billionaires become millionaires
love your show my dude. Please also talk about your lucky charms...
you’re American 100% only yanks mention lucky charms and think the world knows what they are😂
These sort of relationships are obviously not based on equality.
Paul is a very smart man
Like these men have much of a better choice of partners either
Just curious but how long does a tube of toothpaste last him?
I doubt he uses any, probably waiting for the last one to fall out....
For the most part, you can take the girl out of the bar, but you can't take the bar out of the girl.
