The 15.5MPH limit is dangerous because it is too slow and has to change. With the national limit going to 20mph, ebikes need to be included or we are little more than moving obstacles that drivers need to avoid. If we could maintain 20mph regardless of the terrain, safety would be dramatically improved.

      I agree. That’s ridiculous.

      Not high enough?
Anything above is all the rider pedalling. Downhill can get to 23mph on my e-bike.

@@badabing8884Yeah I think the argument is you want around 20-25 to be able to keep up with traffic and minimise dangerous overtaking from vehicles.

    • @cottonbrad
      @cottonbrad Год назад +2

@@badabing8884 Downhill isn't the issue. It's dangerous with cars overtaking, crowding, not being able to move with the traffic. We are vehicles on the road with the same legal requirements as cars, but for some reason, limited by an arbitrary speed limit.

Sorry but I disagree , 15.5 mph is no more dangerous than riding any bike at the same speed but it is a pain when the limit should be 20mph.
Answer, get yourself a dongle !
Though it will drain your battery quicker but that's a fair trade off if you're going a short distance.
Hopefully Ellis will review them 😊

I've never stopped riding bikes and have commuted to work or uni for 25 years on manual bikes.
My wife however did not grow-up riding, for her a bike ride is equal to a day of combat in a war zone. We don't ride together she, not at all.
I would like a Folding Electric Tandem bike. with me at the controls I could take her through all the fantastic scenery our city has.
Could you do a comparison of these, please?

Hi, am looking for an ebike. Am 6ft 4 tall & 16 stones. Have had double knee replacement, looking for a commuter that can also do trails aswell as road. MUST have a throttle option which can hit 15mph without pedalling incase i need to give my knees a rest. Don't mind folding but a choice from each type (folding, hybrid, mtb) would be welcome please. Thanks

Electroheads, please can you be the first channel to review all of the dongles and gizmos that de- restrict e bikes from 15.5 mph.
(Obviously for those who ride on private land or other countries only) 😊
I fitted a Badass dongle to my Cannondale when i bought it in 2018.
(Fitted and removed in 10 seconds )
It tricks the computer display into thinking the bike is doing half of the real speed .
IE when speedo shows 15mph ,im really doing 30mph ( when on private land or other countries.)
I lent my bike out to someone who looks like me but wasnt me, who rode my bike from my home town in cowes , isle of wight to the other side of the island ,Benbridge in 40 minutes !
Definitely worth looking into buying a dongle for thise riding on private land and other countries.

The electric bicycle is a good idea. But the price of buying one is daylight robbery. Where do they get there prices from. My wife bought a bike from bid up tv to some years ago it’s not electric but cost her £80. And still looks and runs good, it’s got full suspension ,cable disks, and with an electric kit approx £500 so for under £600 she would have an electric bike. She loves it like it is. It has 21 gears she is 64 years old and uses it 4 days a week for work 3:39 3:39

@@maciejpsyk if Helix electrical comes out at 25 lbs as they are estimating will it be the most portable. Portable needs a better definition. Fold under 10 seconds? Fit under bus/train seat? Is portable just able to fit in trunk/boot of a car or being able to easily use it every day to commute using public transportation? Is a 40+ lb / 20K plus really portable?
