That album is pure perfection, Meat Loaf and Jim Steinman went together like peanut butter and chocolate. RIP to them both.

When you listen to the whole album, I think this fits in as a very good ending to a great story.

I’m voice texting so hopefully this will come through fairly clean anyway I happen to really like this song I do get what you’re saying about it dragging and then things like that and it not being a cuppa tea but I think it’s all a matter of taking it in contacts right this is not a song you’re gonna pop in and crank up while you’re driving down the highway. This is the type of song when you in your mood your room and you’re being pensive and you’re thinking about stuff and you’re just trying to chill and this is kind of playing in the background, that’s what you think. Anyway, good job reacting good analysis good breakdown. Appreciate it. Take care.

I believe Springsteen's drummer Max Weinberg and pianist Roy Bitton played on several of the tracks of this album.

Hi David!! Fantastic review and reaction as always. Meat Loaf had a unique and powerful style. Some fantastic songs like this! Apart of this...dont know exactly how to say this.....I love your channel, love your reviews, your analysis and the way you talk and see the things....(sorry for my english, im sp!nish...) I think you are one between 1000 making honest reviews. You know what you are taking about and I trust your criteria....I would really love that you could react and review to the most incredible spanish rock band in history, "Heroes del Silencio". Waiting this since long time ago...I think you will really love them and will earn spanish and mexican fans!! . Almost any song from them is incredible!! unfortunately I have four kids, lot of issues and cannot spend money in supporting your channel. And my wife wouldnt approve this!!! 😅😅😅 so...is it possible any way that you can consider my desired request?? Thanks, thanks and thanks!!! 🙏🙏🙏

Steinman obviously wanted to write musicals/rock operas, and Meat Loaf was born to sing rock operas. They just needed a good scriptwriter to tie all the songs together and a cast.

Man I love Meat Loaf. Yeah, you aren't a ballad guy and I knew this wouldn't sell you, but I also knew you would dig the composition of the art anyhow.
Meat loaf, this album in particular is a sort of hmm...broke up with a girlfriend and feeling the heartbreak type feel. I dig it but its something I may here once in a decade. So yeah, I like it when I hear it if the mood is right, and hopefully that mood is rare.

I agree with your analysis. Not my cup of tea either . In the beginning it seemed to be a Billy Joel - type song and over all had a musical theater feel. But the repetitive push forward and pull back was becoming a little too tiresome and dragged on for too long. Part of the frustration is that even though there a build up there never seemed to be a satisfactory resolution at any of the build ups. Maybe that was intended. It gave me the same frustrating feeling of the type of movie where the protagonist is in a bad situation seems to do better but keeps getting kicked down each time things get better.

Nothing shocking here, as usual you look like you're impressed only to drop a supposed bombshell to shock us all by saying you don't like it. Pretty predictable.

The overdramatic theme would be more appropriate if the subject was a drama queen that blows everything 1000x out of proportion.

      What was the subject?

@@THEDavidHeretic To be honest, it was difficult to keep track of what he was saying, whether it had a story or just a lot of words that just added up to a lot of angst. I'll have to go find the lyrics and read them. I distinctly remember my sister's having this album and my fascination with the vaguely satanic look of the rear cover art.
