Once the skin is gone on the Micarta, which it is on most all knife scales, you can use sand paper if you want a make a smoother finish. You can also use a good quality clear oil to improve the finish. The oil may darken the Marcarta a little bit but the finish will be much richer looking. (try the oil) I worked with Micarta for years when I was a Machinist and Machine Builder. Micarta is a brand name for a material that was originally called Barkelite. Named after its inventor Leo Baekeland. Years ago it was available in only two colors, black and brown. We used it in large sheets, 4’ x 4’, of various thicknesses, up to 2” thick and it can be very expensive. It is very nasty material to work with but it’s almost indestructible.
I would just have sanded down the part underneath the pocket clip, I like the look of the old one better sorry Ben, I've watched you ever since Blade HQ. You and Zac are awesome together. I was sad to hear that he was no longer doing his RUclips page.
Ben! Make a Lander 4/Large Lander, whatever you wanna call it! Plzzzzzzzz??? I got my wife a Lander 3, and I just got my Lander 2 today and I don't even like small knives usually but I'm OBSESSED. You freaking nailed this design. Such blissful simplicity.
wowee an extremely durable cheap af composite designed to be extremely durable is slightly more durable than a similar and functionally equivalent extremely durable cheap af composite designed to be extremely durable. "light years ahead" thats genuinely some garbage a 12 year old would say.lol tho honestly who cares cuz bro why are you stanning a cheap af composite in the first place lmao stop it
No it’s not! Micarta is almost indestructible. I worked with Micarta for years. It has its place and knife scales is one of them. I would take a Micarta handle any day over a molded G-10 set of scales.

Lander Auto
I use my banter in Micarta to file my nails down in a pinch. lol
I literally just did this to my We Baby Banter Whatncliffe. I always sand the rough corners but ended up doing the entire handle. 👍🏼
Ok Ben ! Sounds good 👌. Be Well man
Great suggestion, I did that and now I love my knife even more 👏🏻
I just picked up a lander 2 and love bud keep up the good quality.
Taylor Martin approved
Yes yes but the prices in europe Ben.... Come on man
Isn’t the point of it to give you a good grip? Sanding it down defeats that, no?
Ben, we need the green micarta Lander 2 scales sold by themselves, need to match my Lander 1....
We need Zac on!!
You should release the Banter through Knafs.
Assuming you did it by hand??
What coating is that on the blade?
Bro got no patience. : >
Weirdo! Lol, I prefer my micarta to not feel like g10
Is the Lulu not going to be made anymore?
Hoping to see the Lulu in a flat grind, if it hits it's gonna be on my belt .....
You guys sand it
What's in the pocket? 😮 don't tease
But micarta is trash for a handle. G10 is light years ahead of micarta.
