    Curious if I'm not thinking about this correctly, Brad: When any of these funds closes out an underlying generating a capital gain with no loss offsets they (a) must distribute 98.2% of it AND (b) it would be a taxable event to event to shareholders. So, while YES it would come out of the NAV which theoretically represents the current value of the underlyings how is this any different than the short-term profits they distribute. Also, I think a distribution [in whole or in part] could be made based on unrealized gains in the underlying and would be reported on the 19a as "Return of Capital" until the position is actually closed and there is a true-up. So, even if it was a $3.00 distribution whether chunked out or done when the position is closed, and the NAV goes down by $3.00 that would be a distributed gain just like any other. Yes? No?

      Now you are thinking like I am. Let's find out. I would rather them answer these exact questions. I bet they would use it over time to feed it out. But You are on the same thought process. They should be willing to explain this to us. By the way I am ok with them doing this but right now the answers are to open ended or none at all. Now there short term profits are 1256 contracts so they do have special tax benefits. But you are hitting all the points.

    I haven't found a place in my portfolio for these yet. There is not enough data yet. But i can't the writing you've referring too. Have you looked at all there funds. Could they be holding funds in case of not making money for the week. And is it the end of the year when they have to pay out everything let over. I honestly dont know. Im just asking.

    • @Income_Architect
      @Income_Architect  2 месяца назад +1

      They do hold some funds back. Reaching Riches shows you what they are holding back. Keep this mind they will need to pay everything they are holding back by the end of the year. SP500 hit a new all time high but your NAV did not. They still beat the total market. But I would invest in a fund that hits a new all time high for NAV when the market hits an all time high. But that is me.

    As per their website, they expect, but do not guarantee, to make a payout every week. Since there daily sold options must be settled at day's end, how did they do that? I'm thinking that they've absorbed the loss (somehow) and will declare a $0 distribution in 2 weeks.

      They haven’t answered my emails on the roll. They cancelled the interview with Reaching Riches. Something doesn’t smell right. Just my opinion.
      It is still beating the market for total returns. So great play as long as roll works ok for the NAV. ISPY is also beating the market and NAV is all time highs. Just for a comparison.

      Great question. I have them at premiums of .2346 but close enough (I get the data from Yahoo Finance, I have seen them off at times). The issue is they most close the trade when it goes through the strike. Closing is in cash. I show the profit and loss for each trade at the right but they will pay the premium to everyone. The gap between the index and the NAV will grow by 0.92%. The total in cash settle is 1.135 million including the premiums for that day. Only two days did they make positive money.

      They have to pay you all the premiums before the end of the year. So take that as it is. They can create even payments but by the end of the year everything is paid out. And yes when they made a lot of the money Aug 5 week they held back to make even payments. This week the lost money and they will still make you a payment. Meaning 100% this will effect the NAV. Great question.

      There are two ways to play it. I took my profits and ran as I saw things not adding up to a long term hold. Others will let the funds deteriorate to nothing like you explained. The roll should amplify this as they should be paying you the gains. Before opening the new position. This will take years before the reverse split as they get that gap up to keep the NAV closer to par. I really need to track ISPY for everyone. They Payless but do the same thing but their NAV is up? Their strikes are similar. They are only slightly behind Roundhill and owning the underlying not leverage the PMCC. You are also correct about income today by borrowing your money. In reality you could do a Net present value calculation to the income flow over time and depreciate the fund as an asset. That is a lot of business school talk and not really for everyone.

A lot of investors follow this channel and getting the facts inline should be the goal. Some like the adrenaline ride of making money quickly and not caring what's going on behind the scenes. To me, you can call it NAV erosion or simply using funds from new subscribers to provide the cash flow to current investors, if it isn't being earned there is no cash to distribute. RH legal counsel likely won't allow them to speak to you which actually speaks volumes.

    • @Income_Architect

      I am more then willing to let RH legal to approve any video posted. I truly get that I am from that corporate world. Your question is interesting: the money the receive from new shares and paid to older shares will still show up as negative on the balance sheet and will still cause the price to go down. They made no real income this week. Let's see if they make a payment two weeks from now on any of the funds. I bet they will.

    • @susancourtney882
      @susancourtney882 2 месяца назад +1

      @Income_Architect I agree. Every time a distribution is made its a credit to cash and a debit to capital. The debit to capital can only be offset by income, prior investor capital or new investors. If no income and old investors cash has been used to pay for company expenses, salaries marketing and growth, the current payout leads the belief that new investor cash inflow is paying my $0.20 a share dividend which becomes an ethical issue to me. I wish the SEC would slow down the registrations for these folks, they're too new to keep approving funds as it continues to lead to the Ponzi feel. I'll stay tuned...

    • @Income_Architect
      @Income_Architect  2 месяца назад +1

      It’s not new investors. They are going to pay you the premiums. They earned even if they had to cash settlements of some options. They have been using new investors money to settle as they never had to sell a PMCC to settle the calls. Wait until that happens one day. The gap between index and the funds NAV will grow. But in the end total returns is beating the index. What I see is people using 100% of the premiums to pay for something. Total returns is 100% reinvesting. So don’t get me wrong the funds are working as intended. The roll is not new and it is done on other ETFs all the time. What they just haven’t told you is the gab between the fund and index grows but when we roll by the way the call grow by 10% and we will now need to pay you those gains also. They claim no nav erosion on the roll. In reality it’s no total return erosion and there is the problem. People are trying to live of the income or whatever. Now some totally get that the NAV will separate from the index and are totally fine with that. I am fine with that, but I don’t invest in funds like that or limit my investments in funds like that. I hope that made sense.

      As the price went throw the strike it caps the gains. Then they must settle the calls in cash. Now do the use the premiums to pay you out or do the not pay you at all to recover the loss. My thoughts are the same on this topic. It would be good if they came on or at least post a reply somewhere on their site or elsewhere.
    With XDTE I feel like if a fund is doing extremely well and their NAV is up then technically there's no problem with paying out of the NAV. It helps investors with buying more shares because the shares will be in a nice spot for purchasing. If they payout a dividend out of the NAV and the price is up. Then they are really paying us and its not tapping into our money. But it's payjng off of the success of the fund. So there is a gain for investors.
    Currently KURV has been so successful with their funds they are paying out a higher yield for the remaining year.
    When a fund is successful this should be a thing.
    Paying out of the NAV when the share price is declining is awful. But if the fund is rising, healthy and holding, paying out of the NAV shouldn't be an issue. Just my opinion though. I could be wrong.

      Hmm some talk to others but I know they don't like to talk to other Fund Managers. I am not a Fund manager, but I am more then willing to set the record straight and I am more then willing to say I am wrong. Please send them a message to come on and set the record straight.

    Brad I simply don’t understand the problem you have with Roundhill…these are covered call etfs most of them do some part of their distribution as ROC and at inception they overpay a little as long as the overpayment is reasonable which in this case it is …what’s the problem …I simply don’t see it…but you’re entitled to your opinion …Qdte and Xdte will be my biggest positions …

    • @Income_Architect
      @Income_Architect  2 месяца назад +4

      I only have the problem that they have been very not coming forward with information. I am sure you will be happy in two weeks when they make a payment knowing it as a 100% loss against the NAV and not from their call writing.

      I want to make this absolutely clear these funds are extremely high risk and I except this risk I except this risk because I have been an investor for a very long time and I am 100% in control and I have outstanding returns…

      I also want to comment directly to Roundhill if your paying attention …when you have an outstanding week or two hold back part of that payment for bad weeks like this …no one ever asked for a full payment every week…it’s called managing your cash flow…Reaching riches covers this perfectly on his Chanel …thanks and have a great weekend …

      Yes I have seen it and it’s true. But they are going to pay you the premiums. I guess no one noticed that reaching riches commented on this video.
