Chicken republic is my first choice every time for affordable and edible meals. It might not be the best but for the price, it is very reasonable. I don't play with their chicken though, it's so nice.

This is a nice review Winnie, I think this video is a first of its kind in Nigeria ( not sure). However, the way you spat out that KFC food was bad, I'm sure no one in the country will want to enter KFC again and believe me, someone is going to lose their job in that outlet. So, please next time, even if you spat out the food, don't show it, cut that part out but still point out what was wrong with the food. Also, use the sandwich method in correcting these fast food companies, mention the things you like about them (even if its the minutest detail), the mistakes they made and end with what you like the most about their food or packaging. Please keep up the good work, I love your vlogs, your night time skin care routine, the fact that you own more than 3 successful businesses and the fact that you love GOD and you are proud to show it everywhere. The first and last time I bought fried rice at KFC, I had to add stew from my pot cos it was really bad😂 the chicken is crunchy but UNSEASONED, i think they just sprinkle black pepper on it. Chicken republic is still better but the taste differs in the branches, the one on freedom way is very nice but that one at circle mall junction, I can only manage their rice and beans😂 cooking at home is still the best❤️

The bucket of chicken is a scam. If you get 4 packs of rice and 2 chicken that’s 2,350x 4 = 9,400. You get 8 pieces of chicken and 3 fried rice and it’s still 500 less than the 8 piece bucket! (9,900)

Yesss, finally a Nigerian is doing this!! For some reason the fast food chains here don’t have uniformity, so food from different branches of a restaurant can taste completely different 😪
I worked with chicken Republic and I can categorically tell you that they all use one recipe,infact recipe and measurements are taught to all new staffs before delegating you to your department, everyone learns how to cook their meals when newly employed before moving you to ur department. Even the spices ,we the staffs don't know what and what is in them as they come sealed in a transparent bag all and in same quantity. The recipes and measurements are even pasted at a section of the kitchen to avoid mistakes,so while the cooking,you use a scale to measure every ingredients to use. The reason why sometimes the food don't come out the way it's supposed to come out ,it's mostly from the cook themselves,not even from the recipe. Some cooks can be so non chalant and not follow the recipe to the end. I wish you tasted chicken Republic rice and beans with sauce,mehnn you would have loved it,that's the customer's favourite and yes the grilled chicken tastes really good. I don't really like the crunchy chicken though. You can also try their chicwizz or chicken salad,it comes with an island sauce.

If you want to enjoy any meal from chicken republic, try either their rice and beans, chicken salad or meat pie and ice cream. That’s my regular menu. Their rice and beans bangs! They make the best meat pie compared to other fast food restaurants

KFC's quality has also dropped drastically overtime. Sometimes, the chicken gets all soggy and I'd literally have to drain out the oil bfr I could eat the little I ate another time.
Really, cooking can be painstaking and time taken but then there's really nothing like knowing your ONIONS

Very true about location, I visited a friend at Ajah and I went to the chicken republic at Badore, and I bought EVERY single meal I have ever eaten from chicken republic and the truth is it was way better than all I have bought on the mainland. Still remain ambassador though 😂😂 but I told them when I visited yaba outlet that why do we get less quality of food here on the mainland except for the one at opebi that still have good standard.
You mention #1200 for refuel max at ICM but I get it for #1350 at yaba outlet which is currently at #1600 as at Sunday but with a bigger drink.
Well I can go on and on for chicken republic anyway.

My on the go food is definitely chicken republic's rice and chicken, I always ask the attendants for the day's tastier meal i.e fried or jollof rice. For me chicken republic's burger is a big no no.
I don’t think the person went to a wrong branch, the jollof rice I had at chicken republic was horrible, the coleslaw was not good at all, I think the only thing they don’t get wrong is their sandwich, it’s so good, I’m addicted to it 😍

I wondered if it was just my friends and I that thought they were bad. No taste, No veggies. Even the road side buka sells really tasty, mouth watering fried rice.
Also there is always a rush hour from 12 to 2 or so,that's when office workers come for lunch ,so the meals might not be up to standard like the meals made in the morning due to rush and wanting to satisfy every customer quickly. I actually love Chicken Republic cos of their cheap price too. Enjoyed watching this video

KFC doesn’t serve rice in the US. And of chicken restaurants KFC has historically been one of the more well-seasoned chains. They are probably cutting costs with what they are choosing to serve in Nigeria, because it’s definitely not the same. Truthfully though even the US locations have changed for the worst in recent years. I no longer eat there. Unless I’m in Lagos with limited options. 🤷🏽♀️

Sadly, chicken republic maintains the same recipe across all outlet including franchise, but their major problem would be underpaid staff hence they have new staff every time

In my own opinion, Chicken republic to me, meets the average man’s pocket and tasty as well. It’s a “EAT ON A BUDGET” kind of food. The chicken is also sizeable for the price. I started trying KFC for the first time, when it was recently opened in Port Harcourt because of how crunchy the chicken was, but not any more. Especially because of a hike in the prices.
I suggest you try KFC burger. That’s the only thing I feel comfortable buying from them.

I've eaten at Chicken republic at a location in Abeokuta a few times, but the quality of the food varies so much, you don't know what to expect the next time you go. Watched this video yesterday, and decided to go buy their food today. Mehn! It was a total waste of money. The salad was just cabbage and carrots 😢 Two weeks back when I ate there, it was so good, I wanted to go back there. But after today? No. No. I'm not going back there again. Doesn't matter how cheap it is. The chicken this time was so salty. The rice tasted so bad!!! The spaghetti I made at home in the morning was wayyyyy better, and it was a very serious SAPA spaghetti. The only comfort I had was the coke drink I was given. I really wasted money today.

Hmm as a business person i think the challenge is that in Nigeria
1. We don't have standards in what we do. I don't think KFC in a properly organised country will serve such a meal, i doubt it.
2. Over head cost for these organisations is not cheap, but then Chicken Rep found a way to make sure monies are coming in plenty with the combo food pack.
3. Inflation in the economy adds to why ingredients or veggies are managed.
4. Despite the above challenges, these organisations do not have managers or proper chefs to handle their kitchens, because you can still bring out better out of the little available to you.
5. They have to make profits, but then they have to employ skilled workers who would do all they can to make sure the standard is up to excellence.
Kudo to chicken republic at least they are fair like all the comments below and review from Winnie.
Nigeria generally we have to try to do and serve better and excellently no matter the amount of money for the items sold.
I hope they learn and do better, excellence is an attitude and it starts with us all.
I know this two brands so well....... KFC rice has always been the issue since inception. KFC import their seasoning to suit global taste while CR use home made seasoning (Veges were prepped)..... E.g in KFC you'll only see mixed veg like g/pea, sweet corn n carrot in their fried rice but CR, you'll see the red pepper + Veges(g/pea, s/corn🌽 n diced carrot) in their fried Rice 🍚
I stand with Winnie on this. I made a similar RUclips Short about KFC Rice in Ibadan, Omoh, it's bad, very bad. I think they should stop making rice. I have a similar experience at KFC Landmark in VI.

I never ever have fried rice outside bc it’s usually trash!!! Chicken republic jollof rice is manageable and their chicken is good depending on the branch you go to bc honestly, it tastes horrible at some branches. Their recipes might not be standardized.

I don't eat everywhere and it won't pass if its not tasty so I understood that part where you spat the KFC rice out, I tried KFC chicken and I didn't like it because it was too crunchy and tasteless but chicken republic is my go to anytime of the day, I buy from ojodu grammar school branch near omole phase 1 and their food is really nice too even the coslaw and moimoi , I have bought at agidingbi and vi sandfill road before too...... You needed to have tasted the moi moi at Kfc as well, it was terrible sorry to say. It was as though they just cooked the bean paste without adding any seasoning. It was plain and tasteless. The only thing about their chicken was the crunchy part and nothing else. This was my experience at their Area 11 branch.
Chicken republic's chicken is the best to me sha o and their rice and coleslaw I also tasted was ok with me as well though. Perhaps like you said the branch that i went did well with their coleslaw.
Infact my experience with chicken republic's coleslaw began my journey to eating my rice with coleslaw as I wasn't a fan of coleslaw or salad with rice before then. This was my experience with their Zone 2 branch.
Nothing beats Mega Chicken.

Hi zee,I don't know about chicken Republica but I have work with KFC although KFC has measurements for every thing be it oil,rice, veggies, tomatoes pasta and their SPICES they have their own imported ones and you have to measure a certain quantity depending on the quantity of rice, then their rice and every thing including chicken, burger has expiratory timing. So me and my colleagues use to add extra when we measure to make it taste better and also that rice you eat might have expired according to their policy. And I am telling you that if this video get to KFC authorities the manager of that store or the one on duty is gone plus the staffs if care is not taking that particular store might have problems .that is how strong their policy is.
To think I’ve worked in both outlet here in Ibadan and all I can say KFC’s chicken is nice but their rice 😞🙇🏾♀️…..Chicken rep’s rice is nice but I don’t like chicken too brown for my liking.
