I've never had Jollof rice, but I've seen it in commercials. I also just watched this cooking show on CLEO TV and this lady from Ghana made it with lamb, and another one using a different grain (I don't remember the name). That jollof rice with that lamb looked so damn good! She also did the fold over the rice to let the steam keep the rice moist. Winnie is cooking hers differently than the lady in the video. I think they're from different parts of Africa,, but either way I'm trying this and I've subscribed to this channel! What I really love is Winnie's breakdown to help build up the flavors and color of jollof.

Although am a little confused because if for every cup of rice you need 3tatashe, 2 large onions and co. So when cooking 3cups does it mean you will have to multiply those ratios by 3 as well? Please I really want to know
@@360sportstv9 Yes dear. You just do the necessary math.

Thank you dear❤️
Your description of the process Al binitio till the end is incredibly exemplary and highly comprehensive. I followed it to the letter and it was indeed "wow & taste great". You are very good at what you do my noble African woman. Just like someone said and I quote "The Science of Jollof Rice" 💯💯💯✨✨✨
This has cleared a lot of issues for me! Am Tanzanian I love Nigerian cuisine but Jollof rice the most! I have never got it right cause of the ratio not being right. Thank yoi so much.

@@arvellasmith9742pls with tomato medium cup , how many of it will equal one of her standard cup please
@@mozurunyemchioma5950the tomato rice ratio is …
1 cup rice
3 tatashe peppers
1 fresh lg tomato
2 whole onions cut up
2 Tablespoons of tomato paste
She explains that the 3 tatashe peppers and the tomato paste is what makes the rich red color .
This secret is what makes the rice so succulent also .
I tried this recipe today …and all I can say is I’m impressed with the outcome of my jollof 😍😍😍
I tried this style and truly my rice came out so tasty and red. The colour was so beautiful. The frying of the tomatoes paste and everything really made my rice beautiful. Thanks so much….
I'm still trying to find out why grocery stores don't make much smaller cans of tomato paste. Mine always goes to waste. I buy it for making chili
Thanks for this, but since 2017/ 2018 that I've watched your jollof rice recipe on RUclips, I've stick to the recipe and has never failed me before. You were the one who thought me using foil to cook jollof rice ,fried rice and the likes of different rice recipe on your channel. Thank you so much chef Winne, I didn't regret been your fan💖😎

Thank you today for the first time I cook the best Jellof rice because of this video
One can never stop learning or know everything. I'll definitely try these tips. Thank you
Have always had issues with making a perfect jellof rice but with this,😁my God!!! Am getting baby treatment 🙈🙈thanks Winnie. first time commenting tho
I saw that episode too and it made me want to make jollof rice. It seems very similar to what we ate alot of as a child which is red rice.... mmmmmm
Whenever I have a problem understanding a dish I’m coming directly to her !!! Great explanation
❤️❤️❤️❤️
I’m married to a Yoruba and I always thought I’ve achieved Jollof until I taste it cooked authentically. Then I always feel like something’s missing in mine. I’m excited to try these techniques!
I’m a Yoruba guy but how did yours later turn out
@@Tiktok_Reddit roasting my peppers first and adding ginger and roasted garlic/using meat stock changed the game for me. Can’t remember if those steps are in this video tho..lol
@@GodsInstrumentKay lol, I know how to cook and like we always say, “one way doesn’t lead to a market” so far the end result is thesame , we’re good..
❤️ from the Yoruba land and visit us soon
Thank you so much for this video. Previously I have really struggled to get that perfect jollof rice. I tried all these techniques you shared and the jollof rice turned out so great. It was a banger. Every other video just tells about the process but this video talks about the real secrets in getting that perfect jollof rice. Thank you again.
Have to watch this for Ramadhan 🥰
Wow my favorite cook and teacher to watch on RUclips
I've actually seen an old video of yours on jollof rice where I pick up the game changing tip of "steam NOT water plus low heat cooks the rice." My jollof always comes out perfect. And yeah, I also started using foil to trap in heat after that video of yours. You're saving lives in the kitchen 🥰😘. THANK YOU!
I'm telling you...of course we love your talk and your effortless method making everything so clear and understandable...thank you...dear
You are too much my dear. You are my mentor, you totally changed my cooking, love you so much.
I am short of words to write. I watched this video yesterday and tried the same technique for my coconut rice I prepared today and it came out just RIGHT. Winnie, thank you for always giving us this tips for better cooking. 💜
Pls does this tip also go for white rice?
You are very welcome!!❤️
This video saved my Jollof Rice cooking and spared me many heartache. 😀. Thanks Winnie.
You're such a great cook and a teacher.
I love to watch and listen to you .
Bravo girl.
I don't like cooking very much but your video gave me the love of cooking mostly how u explained the jollfol rice. Love your voice
I corrected myself with this and it came out so nice. God bless you sis
❤️❤️❤️
You don’t know how much I appreciate this video ❤
This is the best recipe I have tried snd it’s my go- to for Jollof rice. You are on point with the use of so many red peppers and now I understand why the juicy red color happens. Also, the red onion really does this dish justice.
Thank you for explaining the why’s and why nots to make the perfect Jollof rice.
I’m snowed in today in Ohio in the US , so I will make some fried chicken and this dish to warm my soul😁
Yes do it you deserve it. 😋
Ma u removed the seed of tatashe
U teaches really good
She’s a great teacher!! in life,we fly by instructions. Thank you so much 🙏
I cooked mine following your instructions except that I washed the rice to reduce the starch. I didn’t parboil my rice but soaked it for some minutes. It came out very very good. Thank you so very much. I am indeed grateful.
This was very educating and helpful, thanks.
Dear Winnie, Thank you so much for this recipe. It made my hubby's birthday/holidays very vibrant. The cocktail and smoothie recipes is budget friendly and was heavenly. My elder Sis got an extra pot of jollof rice for her family on January 1st courtesy of your amazing 😍🤩 recipe. Kudos... We love you dearly.
Wow... I tried it today and I got the best jellof rice I ever made in my life. The colour, taste and smell was amazing . My kids said it taste like the party rice they use to eat in Nigeria. Thanks dear .
More meals preparation: okro, Egusi, fried rice please. Thank you ❤️❤️
Just came across your page for the first time, and I most say I'm impressed. You are a beauty with brains . I've learned much today
I made my jollof rice with this recipe and I can say it’s the best jollof rice recipe I have ever used 😀😀. I made a banging jollof rice .. Thank you for the recipe ☺️
quick question, her recipe says to use tatashe peppers and fresh peppers but in all her videos it seems she only puts tatashe peppers in the blender with onion and tomato. Did you only use tatashe peppers or did you use something else as well? Also are the seasoning cubes she uses just chicken bullion or something else?
This indeed the science of jollof rice. You made my day yesterday, 1/1/04,just by ffg these tips, my jollof rice turned out just right for the ist time in my life!😂
