i live in north carolina and board sometimes and that building is hideous like it ruins the view, i'm glad they made that law because it would just be so ugly if there were lots of hotels on tops of mountains around a ski resort.
Fun fact about the building on the peak of the mountain. The locals call it "the booger on sugar" and it is actually the reason why there is a law in NC now that you cannot build a building on a mountain higher than the tree tops.

it was a personal deal i made with the manager. i'd just leave the full bags under the lift and they'd come by with a 4wheeler to pick them up. it even earned me free powder days cause it could only be done during melts. it's too much work to pull bottles and cans out of these southeastern snowballs. lol btw wolf has the best terrain in nc when it is all open!

I was at Cataloochee ski area a few days ago and experienced plenty of "east coast snowballs". I've been snowboarding in North Carolina my whole life so I'm used to it lol. Beech mountain has plenty of them too.
@@basdin9793 You made the right choice. App is a great school in a great town. When you go to the Cookout in Boone stay in the left drive thru lane. The one on the right takes way longer. Also, don't get quesadillas as the entree. You'll be lucky to find two tiny shreds of meat lol.
Bro that was my very first mountain riding 15 years ago when I was in boy scouts lol. Fun fact, I fractured both knee caps there falling off a lift I wasn’t good enough to ride yet and hated snowboarding and vowed to never snowboard again. Then gave it another shot 2 years ago!

Then I tried snowboarding on a deep powder day in light fluffy high desert Arizona snow in flagstaff and it didn’t hurt to fall and was so much more fun and I got addicted. I want to go back to sugar and conquer my childhood trauma though haha

I gotta say....I could keep up with you guys all day, except the jumping!!!! LOL Ya'll make it look so easy. And I'm not talking about terrain park jumps....just the stuff you guys hit on the everyday runs.... I need to take a "jump school"......sometimes I nail it, and sometimes I just get "wrong" right off the jump.
I went yesterday and it was snowing all weekend and there was lots of good powder one of the best days I have every seen at sugar, I wish you had come yesterday instead it was way better.
As a east coast skier I didn't think there were anymore ski mountains below West Virginia. I mainly ski in New York, Vermont, and Massachusetts. You should try some mountains around there much different then that depending on where you go.
Man you lucked out hard on the conditions. I've been plenty of times and usually it's nowhere near that, half the time that black (Boulder Dash or Tom Terrific, can't remember which one off the top of my head) is closed. Huge send on the rock, that was awesome.

I'm still blown away on the quality that comes from the Gopro, especially the 9. Sugar is a go-to for us and we are going to try to go again before the season is over. Watching this video and the video of Beech, This looks way more fun. We are going to Gatlinburg at the end of December and trying to plan a shred day at one of the driveable resorts. Its between Sugar, Beech, and Cataloochee right now. Obviously will depend on snow

Sugar is my home turf, some days are good and some days it’s an ice field but it’s always busy. They have live cameras and I’ve checked it in early season and have seen several people riding through mud. Oh and we all hate that random building that ruins the view
If you ever get a chance to get to PA I'd be interested in what you would think of BLUE KNOB. You would want to be there when most if not all of the mtn is open. Stembogan bowl is a treat, and extrovert will definitely check your skills. It's an old school mtn, and the snowmaking isn't the greatest, but it's my favorite mtn in western pa. If you ever get a chance to ride it, check it out. You won't be disappointed.
If you want the craziest,toughest and best powder on a resort. Head up to revelstoke in British Columbia, Canada. Also, it's the highest boardable verticle in the Rockies. It's a massive mountain.
2 mile trail in whiteface mountain upstate New York and a sick looking park. Cabins are perfect and pretty cheap with community firepit. highly recommend it
Dude you need to come up to Michigan if your on this side of the country and go to Caberfae or Mt. Bohemia. Cab is awesome, one of the oldest ski resorts in the country. And Mt. Bohemia is all ungroomed backcountry in the U.P. I’m sure you’d LOVE it!
