As a nigerian lving in kenya, Monthly rent is tough to come to terms with but I love Kenya and the people, so easy going and calm!! The Cold is a story for another day.... 😂.. You forgot to mention how you hardly fall sick here because because the mosquitoes don't carry malaria parasite.. Its a lovely country
Your findings about Kenya are 100% correct. Yes we don’t do soup and peppe but instead Kenyans cook fresh food everyday in their homes. I was a student in India where one Nigerian friend showed me how to make soup to avoid wasting time cooking fresh food everyday in order to have more time for study.
It’s poverty at times and perhaps the hot weather/ lack of fridge that Kenyans used to prepare food everyday. Your experience is just a reflection of your culture/ family life and not the entire population of Kenya. Of course Kenyans also cook soup and we have many Nigerians here in the U.K. and the only difference is the ingredients and the way they prepare their soup/ stew.
As a native Kenyan, born and raised in Nairobi, I also want to point out that different parts of Kenya have different things to offer. For instance, Mombasa (Kenyan coast) the food is different vs Kisumu (western Kenya) vs. Nairobi (capital city). Usually pili pili (chilli/pepper) is offered on the side.
This is one of the most interesting cultural shock review about Kenya 🇰🇪 I have ever watched. Your personality stood out… and I found myself smiling throughout 😂. I relate you to the Cameroonian Victorine Bih Takwe…

I laughed when you said liquid milk, because when someone says milk I naturally assume it’s liquid and not powder. Unless they specify powder. I understand why you say that because When my sister travelled to Nigeria, she said they struggled to find “liquid milk” 😂 She loved it there more than Kenya and though. Btw, here in the U.K. we do struggle with the chilli in Nigerian food, it takes time to get used to. However, we have similar soups, stew, just cooked in a different way using different spices / ingredients. I think Nairobi is abit different because of the small number of Muslims and large number of Kenyans who cook bland tribal food. In my family we make stew, soup and not always plain rice. The food you eat in Nairobi represents kikuyu and perhaps luo cuisine. Swahili and Nubian food use spices and not bland at all. We prepare chilli sauce separately because we also consider small kids. Nigerians in the U.K. feed their small kids very spicey food until they get used to it. Initially the kids tend to dislike the chilli . That’s why in Kenya it’s a bit different.
Hey Fatima. Thanks for your lovely and thoughtful comments. I really want more Kenyans to visits Nigeria more, they’ll understand some of the things I’m talking about. I’ll definitely try more Swahili and Nubian dishes. Thanks a lot for watching 💐❤️❤️
I am in Mombasa because Nairobi was too cold. I had to take out my winter coat to survive their freezing temperatures. And despite these cold nights these people don't do soup. But I love their soberly dressed food. Just like us black ppl from Suriname the pilipili/hot n spicy is not abused at their dinner table.
To survive the cold, we drink alot of tea, coffee, porridge and bone ( 🦴) soup. Then have heavy coats when up and about in Nairobi. Duvets for sleeping

Coming soon dear
I wonder how come i never saw your channel till now. May be your channel is new.
Great presentation. In fact perfect presentation.
Thank you Lekky. Welcome to the squad 💃🏾
I laughed when you said liquid milk, because when someone says milk I naturally assume it’s liquid and not powder. Unless they specify powder. I understand why you say that because When my sister travelled to Nigeria, she said they struggled to find “liquid milk” 😂
She loved it there more than Kenya and though.
I can't imagine a life without liquid milk😀😀😀

Yippee 💃🏾
In my country Kenya, it gets so cold until pick pockets put their hands in other people's pockets just to keep warm.

Thank you so much Sidney. Welcome to the squad ❤️❤️💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾
So you ran away to Mombasa 🤣🤣🤣🤣. Thanks for stopping by
To survive the cold, we drink alot of tea, coffee, porridge and bone ( 🦴) soup. Then have heavy coats when up and about in Nairobi. Duvets for sleeping
Great video. I have watched other Nigerian you tubers talking about my country Kenya, but yours is on another level well done
Thanks a lot Henry. I appreciate it
I am a Kenyan who lives in Uganda. I thought we have fruits until I came to Uganda! They have more, bigger and tastier! Love it! Come and visit here. New subbie I love your content. By the way Ugandans don't eat pepper either!
I’ll come for sure. It’s on my bucket list. Thanks for subscribing! I appreciate you 💐
I have watched this several times, and its refreshingly funny and true. I am a Kenyan living in diaspora, and this really makes me home sick. That pepper thing has refused to work for us.
You need to come home! Kenya misses you. Thanks a lot for watching

This video makes me start planning to visit Kenya, I understand its in southern part of Africa, thanks madam
😂😂😂
You’re joking right? 🤣
Surely Kamau 🥲
Everywhere needs to get rid of plastic bags. In Scotland they arent banned but you have to charge for them so everyone stopped using them. Its just amazing how much less litter there is now. You used to find plastic bag litter everywhere but now they have disappeared.
It’s a lot easier to deal with when you ban it or make it expensive
The video was so Awasome to watch, I really enjoyed it and thanks for being honest about our country. But you killed me with the song towards the end.You know the song, but try to learn how to pronounce Swahili words effectively...lol.
Hahahahaha. I’m trying ok. I’m glad you enjoyed it 🎊

Same thing here in Uk, one month rent is one year rent in Nigeria, it took me time to come in terms with it.😢😅
I still haven’t told my parents exactly how much we’re paying for rent here so that we can all sleep well at night 😅🤣🤣
Am a Kenyan, I have just subscribed . You got great content
Thanks a lot Milka. Welcome on board 🥰
As a kenyan, that comment on peas and Irish potatoes and soup was so funny.

Kenya is really diverse......You should travel outside Nairobi more....Indians, and other people (especially of Arab origin) are spread across most of Kenyan Towns
I definitely plan to travel more. Good idea 👍
