Thank you Simon! The modified techniques and assisted techniques are brilliant! I never would have thought of all of those. I think they will be the ticket to success.
one of the best videos by far on the 90 degree push up...... i especially like how all the footage in the entire video is just examples of your pushups so you can really see a lot of examples of the form while the video is narrated.... that is all the video needs to be
5:12 planche press and planche push up for this??!! That's crazy, say it in other way because it just seems you need to unlock planche before this and it it not true.
Hi Simon, I have a question: did you build your incredible physique and strenght doing bodyweight training, or with weights and then you switched to Calisthenics? Or you did both?
I'm sure you don't need to use weights your bodyweight is more then enough to built muscle and statics exercise ( exercises that help you develop skills like front lever back lever planche and more ) those technics will helps you develope a lot of muscle that gym won't help you developing them. You may need weight doing weighted pull ups or squat...
I predominantly do calisthenics but I do some weight training too (and weighted calsithenics such as chin-ups/dips) Currently, my training is probably 60% calisthenics, 40% weights. I mostly do compound exercises such as squats, overhead, and bench press when lifting weights.
This is great but at the end he mentioned planche press. For me I lack the lower back strength to pick my hips up but I've found that you can practice the concentric of the 90 degree HSPU by going from a bent arm planche but held higher so it looks similar to a straight leg bent arm planche press. Similar to Simon's stretching eccentric with the tape but way way easier for anyone practicing.

do you lean on your hands at the bottom? not entirely but do they counter some of your weight? its very natural for them to touch your core when you go down
I have a video on this topic. My general recommendation is not to worry about it and simply get stronger. People often imply that there's are specific ratios or "balances" we should strive for. Some state that imbalances cause injury. However, most these claims are unfounded and the suggested ratios are often made up. If imbalances were such a serious issue, single limb amputees would be riddled with injury anytime they exercised.
Sir my father is like you and when my father see your videos he said you can beat 50 people at one time and you can only be defeated if we broke your inner organs like kidneys no matter how beat you you can't be defeated
You don't have to make sure your knuckles are in contact with the ground! If you watch world class hand balancers, you'll notice many use a technique where their knuckles aren't touching the ground. All that matters is that you can apply pressure to make balance corrections. This can be done with different hand positions.
@@SimonsterStrength thank you. But I mean when balancing, my fingertips and heels of my palm are in contact but the knuckles of my palm always looses contact when I perform the handstand push-up or 90 degree. Any help?
Would you say a decent planche is necessary? I can do a straddle planche for 2-3 seconds, but i can do 3 mechanical advantage push ups and 4 free standign handstand pushups consistently I also have a pretty good straight arm press to handstand, but not with the legs straight; only straddled
A (straight-arm) planche is unnecessary as you never do this anywhere in the movement. A bent-arm planche is necessary as you must lower to and overcome gravity from this position. That being said, having a good planche is very helpful. Generally, if your planche improves, your 90DPU will improve alongside it. You won't find a single person that can do a full planche press and can't do a 90DPU. That's because a 90DPU is ultimately a more efficient version of a full planche press (plus a planche push-up at the bottom). People tend to bend their arms in the planche to affect leverage and make the skill easier. The 90DPU is ultimately a bent-arm planche press.
Agreed. However, many struggle with this approach and want more direction. This tutorial aims to give people a better understanding of the skill and provide extra training options to choose from. Almost all skills have been achieved with very simple methods. For instance, some master the planche or front lever with only isometric holds and repeated attempts. This doesn't work for everyone! In-depth tutorials with multiple exercises can be very useful for those who struggle to make progress.
@@SimonsterStrength Yes that's for sure, and specially i forgot to mention i had a strong barbell overhead press background! that made my life so much easier as i started already with 2 or 3 reps hspu first tries.
@@tstreinoyo I’m curious, I can do about 7 freestanding HSPU, (not the best form) and like 3 with really good form. Can’t do a bent arm Planche to save my life. How would you go about learning this skill?
Not a single person watching this is actually doing this move LOL. Absolutely insane
I do but with worse form
It's achievable in few months if you have a very good base. 90 HSPU with straight arms is impressive and way harder
@@MaxeW_SW 90 degree hspu with stra- do, do you mean a planche press?
I do
I am 😁

Using the paralettes and bench, very imaginative. Great job as usual Simon, thanks!

This is awesome!
Plz talk about muscle impalanc and how to fix it and start calisthenics with it

Hi Simon, how can I make sure my knuckles are always in contact with the ground when in a handstand and all other handstand movement?
They don't need to be :-P
Watch Simon's hands early in the video, he almost grips onto the ground and his hands are very active. This is the aim.

What a clean form, man!
Amazing

IMO you could simplify a lot just by doing HSPU and Planche push ups, if you get strong in both you will get 90 degree hspu, thats how i got mine.

@@tstreino isnt planche push up way harder than 90°hspu ? I mean the 90° just need more balance but thats it
