This popped up and I instantly knew where you are. I fish this stretch all the time. My dad pulled a nice 21 inch smallie out of this section last year.

If the weather is warm, and it looks like it is, I use topwater lures for Smallies almost exclusively. Don't be afraid to fish shallow also. Top water Smallmouth fishing is probably my favorite. Unfortunately here in Michigan I have to wait a few months for warm weather. Nice job again guys!

Fished this river my whole life. I grew up 2 miles from where you put in. 😂 Anyway if y’all still do this go up to the James River and float it. Massive Smallmouth in that River!!

Next time try the New River through Giles County. Where you were is good too.They really like Ned craw lures and basically any Ned rig at the dam where you were. Also Texas rigged Z-Man goat!

Loved the video. I just don't know why you or no one ever tells the exact locations. I truly believe 90 % of anglers are catch and release supporters. So it's not like we're gonna fishout the areas to extinction.
People are super tight lipped when it comes to river fishing. Way worse than largemouth lakes.
Is there a reason why none of you guys are wearing a pfd, much less carrying one on your vessels? I mean you guys are hitting bottom going down the swift current on the river. Just about flipped over a few times. Not exactly setting a good example for you anglers.
