Hi just wondering if after the first 3 weeks when you spread out the seeds do you cover the pots with a plastic bag again or leave them open? Thank you
some of the cacti seeds I have planted required me to soak for two weeks and another was in a wet paper towel for 6 weeks....but thanks for letting me know who in here knows it all! I know where to direct my future questions! thanks
Is it possible to have a young barrel cactus produce pups through coring or by cutting it? I only have one barrel cactus about 3 inch tall cactus. I'm wondering if there is a way to propagate it right now
Very good video. Question, you said germination take 3 months? Im waiting to see my seeds germinate, they have a week now. I thought germination take a week.

I never germinated grusonii until a few months ago and definitely because of the seed coat it lengthens the germination process, it just happened to me that they take a long time to germinate with amatocactus, macrocentras and cylindopuntias I would recommend doing scarification processes, maybe just sanding the seed a little bit, I'm still experimenting with various acids.
Warning ....apparently barrel cactus are worth money....I had a really nice one I made the mistake of gifting to my mother who lived in AZ.....she had me plant it right next to an identical one about the same size my dad (before he passed) had planted near the sidewalk in their front yard ....they looked so nice together like they had grown together from pups! By my next visit BOTH were GONE ....She said a neighbor told her a car pulled up, removed them and send off.....DAMN! ASHHLOLES! Just want to RING THEIR NECKS! Neighbor felt so bad she failed to stop it or to get license # etc she actually bought my mom a new one....albeit about a 1/4 size of either the ones that were stolen....just saying plant closer to the house perhaps....I saw one for sale recently I don't even think was a large for like $150! Makes sense some drug addict would steal it and sell to a nursery for $25 or whatever their next fix is....who would think??
they stole a large one out of my moms yard in glendale in the middle of the night probably worth a 100 dollars judging from home depot prices i moved the other 3 to the back yard .
Funny how some people claim cactus are so easy to grow from seeds and others (like me) have utterly failed even though I sincerely try to follow instruction...WTH?
@@pokemonuniteclips1705 It literally took me two years to understand what you meant lol, but use sandy and dry soil. then I was referring to the cactus potting mix soil
I am amazed at how rough you move those roots around,
they must be much stronger than i gave them credit for.
Beautiful plants.
Hi just wondering if after the first 3 weeks when you spread out the seeds do you cover the pots with a plastic bag again or leave them open? Thank you
How often do you fertilize and what kind? Plus what is your potting mix?
How old are the baby cacti shown at the beginning about the size of marbles?
soak them for 10 minutes or ten months?
Obviously not 10 months but probably an hour
I mean soak them for 10 million years
Butch I asked out allowed the same question 😂
no need to soak these seeds sprout already in 3 days+

Where can I get good seeds of this cactus
so you take them out of the bags at 3 weeks and into normal pots? how often do they have to be watered at that stage?

Hello, where can we find cactus seeds like yours?
Thank you for answering me .
From the innards of the cactus fruit
no golden barrel cactuses don’t produce fruit they have flowers that you can get the seeds from
I bought 500 seeds on ebay very reasonably from a US seller
UPDATE please. How big this now.
Dead

Hey I have my own at about a week old. Got an update on how yours did?
3 days - 1 week to germinate Echinocactus Grusonii (ofc you need to have a moist environment and don´t let the seeds dry)
I'm like 6 weeks in and still waiting. moved them from outdoors (it is summer) to indoors on a heating mat to see if that speeds up germination
Cutiiieees
Do you graft them to speed up growth or no need?
No you cant graft a golden barrel cactus
they grow ultra fast, one of the fastest growing cacti
nice
What soil mix did you use for sowing??
Cactus soil
where did you get the seeds?
We have our own seeds, so we didn't buy them.
