GREAT video. I like the idea of planting variegated plants into their own separate pot. I just planted my astrophytum seeds this afternoon. I can’t wait to watch them sprout! 🌱 😍
Nice to show all the stages of growth from seed. You have some nice Astro cacti. How long did it take to get to the 2cm size from the germinated seeds?
Hey can you help me? Ive tried to grow my seeds using the cotton method and putting it in a just enough sunlight and humid place. And its been 6 days no sign of growth. I'm i doing it wrong?
Astrophytum species have been sold in Australia for at least the last 15 years - I know this because I bought fresh seed from a cacti grower who had mature Astrophytum myriostigma in his collection

Great video👍 I just acquired some Astrophytum asterias seeds. Your video gives me confidence to do this. Very excited. I want to get good at this. One question, what do you recommend for soil, for starting the seeds? Thank you
Not the first mention was made of what age these seedlings were when the transplantations were made or the frequency of watering. I think THAT information would have been useful. Other than that, I appreciated the vid. Thanks. I assume (sigh) that the soil MUST be allowed to become dry between waterings ...
Let me share my experiences: In one technique, you put them in an airtight container with a certain amount of water, fungicide and put the seeds on top. They need light to germinate. The container stays closed for at least a year. Fungus gnats love fresh Astrophytum roots, if you leave them open. You don't need to make the first "when they develop the areola" transplant, as you won't sow 120 seeds in one mini pot as he does. Baby plants need constant humidity or moisture, if you want them to grow quickly. He is using Superphosphate as fertilizer. The charcoal that he uses prevents mold and bacteria growth, others use fungicide. Fresh seeds germinate in one day. In the first year many will die, in the second some more, then in third year some will die.
@@avalotikeshwara6136 thank you for your advice. My first seedlings have just germinated and I took them out of their protective bag. I shall place them back in for safety!
It's hard to open your site from webarchive. Can I post it here? Thanks a lot! For the cultivation of seedlings use a mixture of the following composition: leaf humus, sand and charcoal in the ratio 2: 1: 1. Charcoal is sieved through a sieve with a cell of 3mm. Sand can be replaced with vermiculite (2 mm). In the mix for germinating seeds usually do not make a large amount of nutrients. At the same time it is necessary to have enough phosphorous fertilizers. When preparing the mixture, the sand is pre-mixed with superphosphate, which is taken from the calculation of 5-6g (one teaspoon) per 10 liters of the mixture. If superphosphate is granulated, it must be crushed into a powder. The resulting mixture is sterilized. From: azfloraeng.com
EVERYBODY'S taste in music is different. So I don't care what kind of music you play, you are GOING to severely irritate SOMEONE. Dispense with the music. It provides NO information at all! And I am SEVERELY disappointed that you make NO mention WHATSOEVER of how much time elapses between each segment ... between each step ... between each time you transplant them.
Perfect Video. The complete growing period is recorded. Thanks. Let's make our planet Greener!

São os mais lindos na minha opinião
Can you say what s the second solid combination?
How much do you water the seeds after you put them in the plastic bag? Also, how long for them to become mini seedlings?
Nice video.👍
Seedlings potting media???
Nice video. How long in baggie before taking out? Thanks.
Hi. What substrate did you use?
Way better music than 'Happy Birthday' 🙂
how long seeds going to sprout?
Very interesting. Love, love love your video. But you must have spent long hours n time there
What kind of fungicide?
Que tipo de sustrato utiliza?
how long till they gat that big?
At this tiny size, if they show a reddish or brownish color, did they start to die?

What fungicide would be good to use?

2 questions.
. Why the need to do that repotting when they are still very little?
- mines have red colour.. too much sun exposure?
Thanks!
Probably you got the variegated. Good for you.
I do repotting after 6 months or when the seedlings are too crowded in the pot 😁
U use , cocopeet, perlit , broken brik, and charcoal, very beautiful
Sir what is cocopeet, perlit, broken brik?
Thx. Don't need to soak the seeds first?
What is mixture of potting mix
Wanna ask the reason of separating the seedlings with chimeric color on a separate pot?
They grow slower due to the lack of chlorophyll, also more likely to die from direct sunlight
nice video! can you tell. us what is your soil mix for the seeds and seedlings? 😇
Thank you very much! You can find a composition of soil mix here: azfloraeng.com/soil_for_seedlings.shtml
