I'm Dr. Rebecca Spelman. I'm a HCPC registered psychologist in the UK. My reason for doing this interview with Julia is because I listened to the phone call that Julia had with Operation Grange and was struck by how genuine Julia sounds in her voice and how low empathy the police officer from Operation Grange was towards her. It appears that Julia is being honest as far as she believes her story to be true. I reached out to Julia to offer a space which can be as safe as possible for her to tell her life story in a chronological order. Rather than putting this interview on my own RUclips Channel, I have asked Shaun to put this on his channel so that the story reaches a wider audience. My intention for this interview is to facilitate Julia in being able to tell her narrative in a really safe online space which I feel I am capable of providing as a qualified and very experienced psychologist who works with significant trauma. I will be encouraging Julia not to read the RUclips comments as she tells her story so that she is protected as much as possible from comments from the public so that she can focus on telling her story.
The interview will involve me using my skills to facilitate Julia in being able to tell her story and I will offer some perspective in relation to my knowledge and experience treating trauma, trauma memories and give some information to the audience about what I feel may be true in relation to this story. I can also share with the audience how trauma memories work and comment on the narrative that Julia is presenting. I believe because of my trauma work experience I can provide a space that's really safe for Julia to talk about some pretty horrific trauma that she's been through that she's never been able to talk about in public before. I hope that by helping Julia share her story further that more justice can be done in regards to her situation.
I feel that it is really unfair that the police officer who called Julia from Operation Grange did not speak to her in a compassionate and empathic way and regardless of whether she is Madeleine McCann or not, any individual who is reporting themselves as a missing person, who has gaps in their memory from childhood, who believes that they were not born into the household that they grew up in should be dealt with in a compassionate way and should not be threatened. I'm here to help Julia tell her story.

Having listened to the whole podcast. I've commented further down but you can get a normal ancestry dna test either with 23&Me or Ancestry. You do not need to have the McCann's involved. This would also have relatives on and normal dna tests results and trees have been used to solve murders and also find the identity of unidentified dead so it is very reliable. A dna test will tell you your ethnicity so that would be a big help with this. If people are serious about finding out the answers then do a normal dna test.

Even if she turns out to not be Maddy the girl still needs answers
And those answers start from coming from inside her home; not expecting a foreign police commissioner set up with respect to just one child; not expecting a foreign family that YOU chose to decide to say is yours to 1. Give you those answers or 2. Be responsible for proving you are NOT their child - and then dissing them all over social media & showing up at their child's vigil church service in another country...just to "ask them a question"....confront them in other words in front of their friends and family who are gathered there as well, why they won't comply with your request?.....That is ludicrous. That in itself shows zero disregard for boundaries. It's not defense of the Mccanns; it's called boundaries....Hire an attorney to work out your shit with your DNA questions first and foremost with the parents on your birth certificate, if they won't comply, as you allege... and then look to others if it comes back negative; that you're really not their family.. .and if you don't have enough self- responsibility that you can't do that/won't do that, well, stop with the drama on the internet, go to your therapy like other trauma victims do to piece their lives and memories back together; as you were advised to do, and move on.

The dogs picked up Maddie's cadaver smell - in the apartment, on the parents clothing, on the cuddle cat, in the car rented 3 weeks later.... So unless Julie is returned from the dead... She's got nothing to do with Maddie McCann/the McCann family; just like she wasn't either of the other two missing children she thought she was, before Maddie McCann...

Dr. Becky Spelman is right on, I am 72 and my personality split at 3-4 years old, I am very familiar with the fragmented memories and tremendous pain associated! Julia will become a powerful healer as she is very intelligent! Breaks my heart to recognize what she has been through! I totally understand you Julia, you are in good hands now! I've been following Julia's story since she came out publicly and also know admin from Madeleine McCann groups from where julia had joined around the same time she had her flashbacks and contacted operation grange.
Julia said she joined because she wanted to look at information in the groups she never spoke to anyone to help her there is a ex metropolitan police officer as admin in one of the groups members available to help julia but she never said a word.
Then the famous American Persian medium fia johannson found out about julia and got her claws into julia,julia was made up laughing,smiling,free holiday to America went on the dr Phil show etc.
Soon as julia took that 23 and me dna test and fia filmed the whole thing and the results came back that she's 100% Eastern European things started to go downhill julia kicked off that the police was called fia went live and filmed julia outside with the police telling them that fia had basically kidnapped her and wouldn't let her out.
Fia had enough and took julia to the airport to go back to Poland.
2023 julia done a live video from her apartment she told her followers that she was going to do her own dna test then weeks later someone on another live asked her what was the results her answer was she got the results but had to figure out how to say it because she would be in danger and would not be good for her because her bones are dying making out she has some kind of illness.
Why would julia be in danger ?
Julia knows she isn't madeleine or any other missing child she has mental health issues that need to be dealt with.
Operation grange have most probably spoken to Julia's family and the Polish police she's also pretended to be other missing children.
Julia said she has no photographs of herself as a baby that's a huge lie in 2022 I seen those baby photos which have been shared over social media before julia put them onto private only on her Facebook account.
There's photographs of her under the age of 3 with her Polish biological mother.
Anyone who cares for julia should get her help not feed her what she wants to hear it will make her even worse.
Im glad Julia has support, I’m confident that the Truth will come out, in a compassionate manner! Operation Grange is under great suspicion- did you listen to her phone conversation with the policeman, very unprofessional! This whole case is bullshit from beginning to end! So you say, Operation Grange “most probably” spoke to Julia’s parents! That’s an assumption, and if they did, let’s see their reports! They are happy to receive funding, let’s see the results of their work, the public has paid for it! Millions of dollars spent, and now they say Maddy was dead before it even happened, or was reported? It’s been quite the cash cow for this operation and investigators! It would be an act of compassionate Grace to do the DNA matchup test, and get some closure for Julia, and it wouldn’t cost the “supposed authorities” a penny! Explain to me the harm of getting a legitimate matchup test? It clears everyone, or maybe it doesn’t? After Jimmy Saville’s reign of terror and the fact that the police covered for him for years, they are Suspect to me!

I don't paticularly like the McCanns but julia turning up at madeleines anniversary vigil in Leicester is not normal behavior julia said the parents was there but she seen them drive off.
Julia went to the police station but they took a dna sample now why did they do that?

The reason he was so off with her is because she's constantly ringing them how many times can you have the same conversation with someone before breaking point.
Yes operation grange are a scam even peter bleksley said it was only started to keep the parents happy.
Operation grange know madeleine is dead the parents have been protected from the UK government since 4th may 2007.
Shaun didn't need julia to tell us operation grange are corrupt we already know in the madeleine McCann groups and colin Sutton told us.

I was disconnected from my mother, and 15 years later was introduced to a woman and I happened to smell her and within seconds realized who she was! She was not at all like I imagined her to be! The olfactory sense is one of the most powerful memories that we have! You will come to know everything as your Soul let’s you put it together! You were shattered, blow’n away, quite early in life! The fact that you have survived it all is extraordinary! I think you will discover who you are and grow into an amazing and insightful healer!

Absolutely please leave out the graphic details. It's simple The McCanns should have no choice but to have DNA tests.!!! I feel sure that Maddie belonged to only one parent and that was indeed the root of why this happened in the first place.

I suffered abuse. It's terrifying to disclosure through therapy. Forget Maddy for a moment. Julia needs help. A DNA test would be a good start.

Five years I was victim. Twenty years later, my son had a play date. The mum was late. Upset on arrival. I invited her in for a cuppa and she broke. Was at a lawyer because her children had been victims of their father. Same perpetrator. The pedophile attacked his own children. My memories that day, were new. Nightmares, vivid. It’s exactly like a jigsaw puzzle that takes years to complete. This woman deserves our support, care, attention. Ignoring sa , excusing sa, is pure evil. And Julia needs a dna test. ASAP.

My step grandfather also SA’d me and my mother tried to cover it up even going as far as to tell my doctor her own version of events that I found in my medical record

if she is in touch with her father/ mother why not just get a hair sample from them from an hair brush or something and send it to be tested with her own DNA to prove one way or another if they are her real parents or not ?

Please I know her well and have been following her through all the drs she's been through so how many years will she be with this one,, please you will find out how many through the years,, her poor mother in tears( with the rest of her family coming forward with photos and the truth, Julia even lashed out at her mom for getting her family to tell she just lies) her acting distressed is so usual for her and needing time to say things because she needs time to remember what she has previously said ?????? (Grandparents even came forward describing how badly behaved she was during her childhood, a lier, and a person who would run away and tell stories to people) Sorry
This poor girl, whether she's madeline or not, what happened to her is terrible and somebody should be held accountable regardless. And for God's sake give the girl a DNA test so she can move forward with her life. Much love to you Julia

Yes, I hope she figures out her identity crisis and gets the mental health therapy she needs, but she should stop slandering the Mccann name and Operation Grange**, until she proves to the world that she's not a member of the family she has been in since birth. @georgekoshti_richman1392 I agree with much of what you say, but I don't believe she is Maddy; she doesn't resemble her at all. Her features, her bone structure, the shape of her face etc etc. Maddy would never have resembled her even when older and less thin. Her trauma is causing her to clutch at straws that don't exist and she should be helped to find out who she really is, not encouraged to believe she is Maddy McCann.

They've already offered (her real parents); they've shown her her pictures of babyhood (Julia posted them on Instagram), she has her birth certificate - how do you think she was able to get a passport to travel to the US and UK....she has trauma from childhood ok....thousands/no, millions of people do, but how does that make the Mccanns and operation Grange responsible for her life's problems???!!!

Answer me this, how would denial of a DNA matchup test hurt anyone, particularly when $16Million has been spent on this investigation, which yielded nothing? If the police and McCanns know for certain that Maddy is dead, then why do they still get funded? When the McCanns went on air with their drama they invited the world to participate in this investigation! Their “Please help us”, is reciprocal, it’s about time that they and the police do something useful!

@@duwomaiishgabrielle9498you hit the nail on the nose! that's what this whole saga wants to play on ....compassion, empathy for her personal cause alone and heart strings.... Unfortunately, past the smokescreen, the questions being raised here have nothing to do with compassion; it's not about compassion at all... it's about logistics. The British taxpayers should be responsible for paying for a polish citizen's DNA test to "prove" whether she is Maddie McCann - as she "believes" she is- or not - when she has not even provided the basic proof that she never naturally was born into her own family in Poland, by providing that DNA result? No, if operation Grange's money is up for grabs, to be spent under pressure of social media demands or personal needs of individuals with no proven connections to their mandate, etc, then there's plenty of British missing children who deserve to have those funds allocated to the searches for them, victims of SA, Star's, and domestic abuse who need intense therapy which they otherwise don't have the means to have it, that's all.
Julia has her own family, whether she likes them or not, who has supported her in her mental health journey, her own municipality and country where she is citizen, with services to support her needs.
Just as I did, as a victim, in my own country.
The world didn't need to know the recovery of my memories, play by play; my story - and if they did hear them, it certainly wouldn't have helped my recovery, that is sure, and none of this social media stuff is helping her one iota. It is factually hurting her, because at the end of the day, she has to walk the street, and like it or not, people judge - and her name - 3 of them she uses actually, and her face, and her threats of suing her mother, Dr Fia, that she's no going anywhere, if operation Grange wants to get rid of her they'll have to kill her, they "threatened" when she showed up in another country to a church vigil the Mccanns were going to be at in honour of their missing child, to confront them there, rather than hiring an attorney to institute communications like any normal person would do under such circumstances -:are all associated with her face and out there in the internet - not because of malicious press - or her "non-supporters" being mean, because SHE posted those live feeds. The world is a tough enough place to live in at the best of times, but logic is logic and there's zero logic to this at all. that's all.

According to the recording she played in the first interview police claimed to have investigated and interviewed parents and mental institutions she had been placed in. But after the way the UK police handled the Barking Murder victims can what the UK police say be trusted.

Julia's own "parents" will not agree to do a DNA test to prove they are her biological parents. I do not understand that. They alone could provide their daughter an absolute answer. Julia could then begin a healing journey & expose her abusers. Julia should also be given the opportunity to pay for an independent DNA test with the McCann's. I don't understand why they wouldn't provide this girl with absolute scientific proof.
She just might be Maddy. The way that the McCann fam and the British police are running away from the results tells me they already have the results but don’t want the world to know the true results.

The way Julia was spoken to by that Police man is exactly the tone and attitude I experienced when trying to report CSA to police, they are so dismissive with no empathy.

I’m lucky I turned out ok but suffer severe depression at times….i functioned and excelled but the scar never leaves you.🙏 I did use alcohol and cannabis..never went to harder drugs but maintained strong morals, boundaries and struggle with trust and anxiety. I also don’t use alcohol anymore and seldom cannibis. I’m thankful🙏❤️
🤗 same here... I had a traumatic childhood at the hands of my Mom, but thank God my Grandparents took me and raised me long enough that I was well adjusted. Graduated, did some college,and always had well paying office positions. It wasn't until 21 that I lost my Pop Pop and started self medicating w/heroin. BUT I did get clean (7 yrs ago this Aug. 5th) went back to work in an array of clerical/ administrative positions. I now work in registration at a hospital, and love the rewards of helping others daily. It's wonderful to see us survivors not only going on to live productive lives, but to thrive. ❤
I totally believe Julia’s story and understand her wanting to find out who her birth parents are but the people who know the truth need to tell her. I would imagine it’s probably not the McCanns but the could at least put her mind to rest.

Why didn't the officer tell her the DNA testing could be done if she pays for the testing. The McCann's should also want to get answers & or take her to court to prove she is not their daughter. The McCann's could stop this or get answers. Julia's parents should also give her the DNA testing she wants. This needs to be answered with scientific evidence. Julia should pay for all the testing & if it comes back that she is Madeline then she should get her testing refunded. If she is not Madeline then Julia needs to apologize & start her healing journey as Julia.
My family was very odd. My Mom had to kids from my biological Dad. She then divorced & remarried. She had two kids with my step Dad. Years later after a violent traumatic event we discovered that my step dad was not the father of my half siblings. My step father raised me & my two other half siblings. He is an exceptional Dad. My Mother not so much she had an affair with an Episcopalian deacon who was 15+ years older married with many, many children & lived directly across the street to us. This isn't about me it's just when living in dysfunction it makes one question everything & scientific evidence is required for some. I do not see the harm if Julia pays for the DNA testing. Julia can then have answers begin a healing path expose her abuser(s). She could even apologize to the McCann's if she is not Madeline.
Julia, you are doing so well. Whether you are Madeleine McCann or not, you were a kidnapped child who faced horrific trauma, you deserve to know who you are and where you came from. Everyone deserves a sense of identity and answers and shouldn’t be denied it.

Bless you Julia your so brave I’m 49 and have only just started getting help 4 years ago when my world fell apart after suddenly becoming aware of child s a and he died and realised my past adult abuse through partners and addictions were related. I’m currently waiting for help and on medication but am braver now and trying to work through dreadful memories bless Julia lots of love and prayers

Dear Shaun, Ron and Dr Spelman, I think that you have all been very courageous in raising Julia's issue because there is something very strange about Maddy McCann, something that has a dirty smell about it. You have all also been so compassionate. It's heartening to know that there are still some good people in the world.
Julia is a very brave young lady, she needs and deserves answers. Whether or not she is Madeleine she needs to know who her real family are and how she came to be put in the SRA circle. Whatever the story is why mccanns are not running to provide their dna in a hope that this may be Maddie, despite any facts any suggestions, speculations, if I was a grieving mother this would be the first thing on my mind

I saw photos of her younger with her parents. She looks like her parents. Either way Julia should be provided with DNA evidence from her own parents. What are her parents hiding? If they did the DNA test for her she could begin to accept that she isn't Madeline & begin her healing journey. Then apologize to the McCann's. If she isn't their daughter then of course McCann DNA testing should be done. Julia needs scientific proof.

As far as I can see the fact that the McCanns are aware that this young woman exists, has been through such terrible ordeals, and only wants one thing from them which they could easily provide, but wont makes them more uncaring and unworthy than they were that night in Portugal.

The first issue is whether she is the biological child of her own parents - and before she goes around continuing to cry to the world that the Mccanns and/or operation Grange won't help her prove she's Madeleine....or not....She should be proving to the world that she is NOT the child her parents have claimed she is by getting tested there, period. If it proves she's their biological kid, that ends that. If it doesn't, then she has leg to stand on by having her DNA compared to other DNA in the world bank to find familial matches.
Her parents won't do it? That's not the Mccanns problem - that's her problem. Hire a lawyer and go to court against them already to get what she says she needs - and substantiate what she is telling the world - that she is not their child, instead of crying to the world about how the Mccanns and operation Grange are treating her.... she's been at this for a number of years, and there comes a point in time she has to take self responsibility to PROVE who she's not, before going around saying she thinks she's someone else, but those bad people and their police won't help me prove me I'm not...backwards....upside down, inside out and beyond reason to every average person following this.

It's fkn sick mate and it's been widespread for a long time especially in eastern European states, I remember years ago in the Romanian CARE system, they were letting rsa for money to pay for upkeep of the orphanage, admitted it on camera openly stating it was for the good of the kids ?????????
