Just bought a glock 29 10mm Thursday. I have good size hands but the small grip dosen't bother me holding it, but well see once I take it to the range and then I'll decide if I want to use it for e.d.c.
Good review. One consideration is when a Bear charges your lucky to have just a couple shots. While more is better, make the first and second (if your lucky), count. It happens fast, it’s quick and it’s violent. Staying off trails in heavy cover, and walking with cow bells and having a friend with Bear Spray as an additional defense in a layered defense, offense. I love the 10 mm.
Me too. Do you like it better than the Gen 4 better? I’m guessing the dual recoil spring spring would help the life longevity of the pistol with extra energy. My only real issue with the Gen 3 is the lack of texture on the sides of the grip. But I suppose since it’s smooth it won’t rub against skin or shirt. The Gen 3 mag release is a bit small and sharp. Maybe one day I’ll add a bigger mag release. I like to keep my Glocks mostly stock. Night sights front light and maybe some type of runner gripping for the Gen 3.
@@jaytay7989 I just stick some talon grip tape on there and it's fine. You can get different textures. Also not into the switching the back of the grips because a few friends told me they have gotten loose or have got a bolt stuck, same with the top removable sight u can switch to add a red dot and bolt it on.. Im good with the Gen 3s and using the Glock tool to push the sight off if I want to add a red dot in the future.. Haven't had the best luck dealing with small screws. The SF of perfect but the regular one also isn't much of a difference.
Nice to see you got one again Bud. I thought your first one was pretty beefe in the grip myself. I always wanted a 10 Mil. I'll have to see how that bad boy feels in the hand.
I certainly do not know this for a fact, but I have been thinking that the reason that Glock continues to make the Gen 3 is for California sales, as Gen 4 does not meet their criteria. In fact Gen 3 will not meet the criteria now, so when that sunsets, maybe no Glocks in Cali, and no reason to build gen 3s. Just my thought on the subject, Hilander. And I bet ya can't even reply to this.
good video,,you mentioned that 10mm & 357 magnum are about the same depending on the loads,,what about 357 Sig,which Glock makes models 31,32 & 33,,is the 357 Sig a lesser round than the 357 magnum?
10mm was just shortened .250 inch and primer made small instead of large, this is by memory but the S&W 40 had to change the primer to get the patten just shortning the 10mm was not enough change for a new cal.
William Knight The 10 mm was developed before the 40 S&W. The 40 was developed to have a less recoiling 40 caliber round. The 40 is shorter than the 10mm. The FBI complained about the high recoil and flash from the 10mm. Hence the 40 was developed. Primer stuff I don't know for sure. Both are great rounds. Thanks for watching.
Nice vid. I bought a Glock 20 last year, full size, but it arrived at my FFL damaged,so was sent back. Might have been a good thing, since the grip felt big to me. Now I want an SF,gen 3,to be a companion to my gen 3 Glock 23. I can use the same reloading dies, and same bullets, just need some 10mm cases. Oh,and some large pistol primers....NP there.
i use mine for white tails and it works very good, i shoot grizzly 180 gr hollow points, they aren't quite as hot as the buffalo bore stuff, but still very stout loads and cost is a little better,
If Glock phased out the Gen 3 then we wouldn't be able to purchase a Glock in California. I hope they don't go that route unless they stop selling to the military, government and law enforcement in Ca too.
Nice of you to make this vid review. Any chance you'll be getting a pistol caliber carbine in 10mm? A 16-inch barrel combined with full-power 10mm loads can be quite a nice combination.
Steven Durham Yes it will. But your head space in the chamber will not be right. Over time will it mess up your chamber. I don't know. Thanks for watching.
Best ever gos Thur level 3 a body armor with Ventura extreme defense ammco or pentrater it beats the big boys that wount go Thur level llla 44mag 45acp 357 sig 40. All short of power in going turn level llla. Jell his way deep gen 3 best who wount straps that get loose at pin springs problem s early models 10mm best yet
It's 2024 and just got a G20 sf gen3 It's a classic in my opinion.
2020 the gen 3 20 SF...STILL here
6 years and I purchased my first Glock 20sf I love it. It’s as accurate a gun you will ever shoot
Love my G20 SF Gen 3, underrated under appreciated round.
It’s 11-26-2018 & gen 3 glock 20s are still here . All Generation 3 glocks are still being manufactured
Its July 2020 I just brought 1
@Izzyrodthegod man congrats to you have you took it to the range yet?
I have a 17 and a 20 love them both especially after adding the beaver tail!!!
Some earlier Glock SF pistols magazines aren't compatible with non SF counterparts and why Glock no longer puts it on the slide.

I just picked one of these up brand new 2021 20sf 3rd gen

Just bought my Glock 20 10mm (full size). Luv it. Awesome cannon.
10 mm auto, no comments, it´s increidible!
10 years later all we have in California are Gen 3 So just got one Glock 20SF Gen 3
Nice to see you got one again Bud. I thought your first one was pretty beefe in the grip myself. I always wanted a 10 Mil. I'll have to see how that bad boy feels in the hand.
5 years later Gen3 still here
G-20 with a G-40 barrel? Does it improve distance and/or accuracy?
Nice i get mines tomorrow
Awesome firearm.

Glock 31 is the 357 Sig model. 357 Sig is a great round. Very fast. It is not as powerful energy wise as the 10mm or 357 Magnum. But a great round.
SF is the way to go. The standard is definitely a beefer!
From what I gather, Glock is just stopping production of the standard sized 10 mm and that the SF is here to stay
I just got a Gen 3 Glock 20 SF for 581.56(OTD)(NEW) in the year 2017, June 21, SLICKS !!!
Got the 20SF didn’t like the small grip, bought a normal Gen3 frame.
A Glock and a Sig for an AR? Say you came out on bottom with that deal

“ Some people say” if in doubt, call Glock.
No doubt about the 10mm. But any day is a decent 357 magnum. And usually that one shot can solve any dangerous and unwanted wild beast in the woods.
Very true unless you miss, then you will wish you had more rounds.
Unless you live in a area with Browns, you will just piss them off
You said a mouth full!! 16 over 6 shots any day of the week!
I have a Glock 20 SF , powerhouse!!
i use mine for white tails and it works very good, i shoot grizzly 180 gr hollow points, they aren't quite as hot as the buffalo bore stuff, but still very stout loads and cost is a little better,

2018 and you still can buy G20 SF 10mm........
gman77gas I bought mine 3/18’ just put the alpha barrel 6.02 and new stainless steel guide rod , looks purty
Nice firearm no doubt
That 10mm is a nice gun and a serious round. Great for those Rocky Mountains!
11/27/2017 Glock is still selling 10mm, yay for us ...

You can shoot 40s in your Glock 10mm. I promise. Same barrel, same mag! Just load and shoot! Ive shot thousands in mine!!
Steven Durham Yes it will. But your head space in the chamber will not be right. Over time will it mess up your chamber. I don't know. Thanks for watching.
They're only eliminating the G 20 gen 3.
