Haha i love how you almost ended the video several times then was like nah lets shoots some more, nice vid sir!! I’m picking one of these up in 2 weeks
Great video of the G20 - I’m picking up my Gen - 3SF shortly, here in CA, is the only G20 on roster. But! It’s a 10mm so ok by me 👍 I’m looking forward to the first 100 down range.
It wasn’t you . The 220s do not stabilize well at all in stock Glock barrels . 200 and under only . nothing wrong with the Glock barrel but they use polygonal rifling not traditional lands / groove which does now stabilize 220grn worth a damn . You’ll need an after market kkm/ storm lake barrel for the 220’s
I changed my barrel to Kkm And the rod and recoil spring to 22 pounds NDZ performance. I prefer also 200gr Underwood Hot loads require Glock mods ! The standard Federal Vel will work well with the 17lb factory spring but the hot ammo suggest 20/22 pound spring
@@trumpie5399 how has the kkm barrel worked for u and how much rounds have u put through it? I want to change out barrels in my g20 gen4 and g21 gen4 but is it really worth the money to upgrade? I wanted to put a kkm in my g20 and a wilson combat in my g21
Same here my first 10mm and my first Glock gen 4!!! I loooovee that pistol! First time shooting 10mm and it's underwood you're breaking your cherry just right
You're some flinching or anticipating recoil. My g20 is super accurate with most loads. As far as the slide locking back on a live round you probably hit the slide stop with your thumb.
Derek Foster - One of the mags that came with the gun was bad. Glock replaced it. Without watching the video again to make sure, that was probably with the bad mag. Enjoy your G20.
You can tell when he fired that buffalo bore round it was a laa but more of a jump back an a slight difference in echo sound I only kno there’s a difference in these rounds is because I fired them myself 💯
Nice video. Glad to see you're back. I've only had experience with the Glock 29 (compact 10mm). Didn't really care for it too much. Would have liked to have tried your 20. More of a handful I think and therefore absorbs more of the felt recoil. Flinch was definitely a problem for me with the 29. Also the cost of 10mm was awful. I do love my Glock 30 though. Affordable ammo and easy on the wrists. Thanks for the video.
Look up hickock45's video on the Glock20 and 29. He will tell you there is a big difference in recoil between the 20 and 29. He said “people think the .40 S&W is a snappy cartridge, but it really isn’t. The G29 is the Definition of snappy”. If you can find a place to rent a G20, you should give it a shot to see how you like it. 10mm is available in so many different loadings. You don’t have to shoot the hot stuff all the time. Remington UMC, Georgia Arms and Freedom Munitions all make light loaded 10mm at a lower cost. Not all that different than shooting warm .40 loads. I plan to take my G20 and my 1911 out and shoot them together to compare recoil for the heck of it. Been a few months since I’ve shot any .45 ACP. I would think the G30 would be a snappy little handful, but it seems to be a popular little gun.
+Tony Tyler - I’m giving serious consideration to replacing my bedside Sig with a G21. The Sig seems to want to choke on hollow points. The G20 is an awesome handgun. Thanks for the comment. :)
gapster46 - This is getting a bit Halloween scary - I just purchased a G20 Gen 3 (Gen 4s are not allowed in California) - you and I have the same tendencies - I don't have all that great ammo, though - I'm going to be shooting BVAC 10mm ammo when I pick up my pistol...Bye for now...
Congrats on the G20, but no Gen4's in CA??? Why is that? Shoots the same bullet. I’m not familiar with BVAC or their 10mm ammo, so I Googled it. Nothing but negative stuff on it. I would try some from Freedom Munitions, that is if you can order online in CA. It’s the cheapest 10mm ammo out there and is good stuff. It’s advertized at 1200 fps, but a guy in the 10mm forum chronoed it at 1057. Well under advertized, but it’s good range ammo. I picked up 500 rounds of it and have shot 100 rounds of it so far. They use Starline brass. Good stuff and I’ve shot thousands of rounds of ammo from Freedom Munitions. Excellent range ammo. Remington UMC is good stuff also, and loaded a little hotter than the FM ammo. Of course, I know you will start reloading for 10mm eventually.
MrWheatable Thanks for this, my dealer just tells me no Gen 4s in California - something about the microstamping law. I'd love to get Gen4s three magazines included also, plus the more efficient spring. Just got the Gen3 G20 and happy to get that. Best Regards
gapster46 Thanks again for your great comments. BVAC ammo is either great or bad. I have some 45/70 BVAC that is not accurate. But I have some 30 Carbine 110 SP that I would stake my life upon - reliable, powerful and accurate. And the 41 magnum ammo BVAC that I have - 210 grain Gold Dot bullets loaded in Speer new cases - right up there with the best 41 magnum ammo out there, and the price at $26 for 50 is incredible (not available any longer). The 10mm ammo is loaded with 180 grain FMJ bullets also in new Starline brass - rated at 1200 fps. We'll find out how good (accuracy, function and fps) it is pronto when I pick up my pistola. I actually bought that ammo 5 years ago, but it took me this long to get my G20. As for reloading, you bet!! Factory ammo for the 10mm is too expensive to shoot more than 50 rounds at a time. I can shoot 10x the amount of ammo by reloading with my cast bullets (probably cast them out of Lyman #2 alloy). Best to ya
gapster46 Gen 4 Glocks are not allowed in California unless they have been converted to fire single shot only (SSE= Single Shot Exemption from the public safety law) - probably costs around $125 to make the conversion. Just think of the usefulness of a single shot Glock and the privilege of paying an extra $125 for it. There are no shooters that I know of who would go for that. I found a real fine Taurus 22 revolver-finely fitted and solid for $240 - I wanted to buy it, but the clerk asked me if I was law enforcement (yes was a sale). When I said no, he said that I would have to have the revolver converted to fire single action only for an extra gunsmith charge around $150 because the Taurus revolver did not fall within the public safety law. I said "Absurd", shook my head and sadly walked out of the store. That's the way it is in California. And with the new microstamping law (every firing pin on semiauto pistol will imprint a traceable number onto every primer the gun fires for ID purposes later), many semiauto manufacturers will stop shipping to California - too expensive to make only California guns. Gapster - just think of the ridiculous nature of that law - criminals will simply deface their firing pin tips or scatter range brass at the scene of the crime to confound the system. The law is just trying to punish firearm companies and lawbiding citizens only. They fly these things because of the imaginative ways to improve "public safety". Enough of this - let's have a great day.
Hickock45 makes so many videos, it’s hard to remember them all. I don’t remember him having any problems with Buffalo Bore or even that he shot Buffalo Bore in his G42. I’m not impressed with the exorbitant packaging Buffalo Bore uses. A box of 20 is big enough to hold 50, and why all the Styrofoam? I prefer the Underwood to all the others, tho the Remington UMC and even the Freedom Munitions, which I did not have for this video, are both good range ammo at a much better price than Underwood. Still, I will always keep some Underwood around and the Underwood will be my woods carry. Thanks for watching.
gapster46 yeah I don't understand buffalo bores reasoning for that kind of package. someday ill get myself a 10mm or two. I really like the colt delta elite and the glock 20.
redneckmini14 If you get the Colt Delta Elite, be sure to read the warning on the Underwood 10mm page before ordering any Underwood ammo. Underwood does not recommend shooting their ammo in the Colt. Glock yes. Colt no. The Colt is still a popular handgun tho.
Underwood is the best. Buffalo Bore and Double Tap consistently come under advertised f.p.s. Other factory loads from Remington as you have there are no where near as hot. Earlier types of 10mm handguns in the past couldn't handle full house 10mm rounds, such as the Colt Delta Elite. Enjoy your new hand cannon!
I will stick with Underwood for Woods carry and those times I want a little more bang at the range. Remington UMC and Freedom Munitions will be my range ammo. I wasn’t all that impressed with Buffalo Bore or Double Tap, and it sounds like Glocks might not like Buffalo Bore all that much anyway.
Hi nice video. Are you using the factory recoil spring? Underwood, Double Tap recommend a 22# after market spring for best results and to protect your firearm. Thanks
John & Roxann Koutzoukis Yes. The gun is totally stock. It hasn’t missed a beat with anything, except for that one malfunction that happened in the video when the gun was new.
Nick Flores - I carry it with 10 rounds of 220 grain bullets and it gets heavy after a few hours and I’m glad to get it off my belt, but I’m no spring chicken either.
10 mil is not a terrible round to shoot through the 20....my 13 year old handles it no problem any load but the hard cast 200 grain lol....but seriously if you are not old or disabled....if this round is an issue you should rethink you grip strength
Nick Pethan - Not really. I’ve only noticed it with really high pressure rounds like Underwood and Buffalo Bore and even then only once in a while. If you don’t reload, I wouldn’t worry about it.
Apparently with the compound springs in the gen4, you don't need to change it. The 22lb spring is needed in previous generations without compound spring if you want to shoot the hot ammo.
BaSsAholiC - I have no clue as to what you are talking about unless it was the magazine that wouldn’t hold the slide open on the last shot. Bad mag that Glock replaced. Other than that bad mag, I’ve had zero malfunctions in this gun in over 900 rounds. Read the description below the video.
