I shoulda said more about Fearless but that one I watched sub for sure. Way different experience in what they said vs lost in official translation it seems. The wrongs and reasons even the humor all give a very different impression. A single reason goes from me thinking, understandable to I woulda done the same or worse, in one translation. Then seeing the official translation you'd be thinking maybe Li's character is going a bit overboard. Then by that, one bad guy doesn't feel as bad or both can be seen as the same kinda crazy.

1:45 - I was widowed in 2006. I remarried in 2011, and believe me, I *STILL* miss my first wife. So, again, I relate to Riggs really hard. My second wife knows about this, and she's okay with it. She kinda understands that around the time of year that my first wife died, that I get really emotional. That kind of grief you never really get over, you just learn to live with it.
I give my second wife a world of credit, though.... while she doesn't fully understand (she's never been widowed), she at least empathizes with me during that time of year. It's kinda funny, because my first wife, prior to her death, had told me that she'd "send (me) someone so that (I) wouldn't be lonely for the rest of (my) life." She picked the perfect person for the job, too. My second wife should be sainted for putting up with me.

@@jenmurrayxo Thank you, Jen! Loved your reaction to this movie! And just to say it; I didn't "find" Katina (my second wife), Rose (my first wife) sent her to me. Of that, I have no doubt. Rose came to me in a dream one night, and confirmed that Katina was the one she sent to me. I always questioned if there was an afterlife, but events since Rose died told me that there is. I heard her whisper to me when I set up the urn with her ashes, on a dresser with some things that were special to her, I heard her whisper "You did good." Then the dream where she confirmed that it was Katina that she sent to me. Katina and I had known each other back in school, but there wasn't any chemistry there at the time. A few years after Rose had died, and the chemistry was there. It was instantly obvious. I can't explain it any better than that.
With that said, again, I loved your reaction to this movie. I also find this series to be both difficult to watch, but cathartic at the same time.

Another great action/comedy buddy movie you should check out that doesn't get enough reactions is The Last Boy Scout (1991). Bruce Willis. Damon Wayans. Also written by Lethal Weapon screenwriter, Shane Black.

Yeah, a heartwarming ending (so far) to the series. Wonderful that they kept the main cast throughout -- Riggs, Murtaugh and family, and the captain were all played by the same actors. And keeping Pesci and Russo in was great -- heard they weren't gonna use Pesci at one point, but that scene at the grave was awesome, wouldn't have been the same without him.
Jet Li was already huge here in Asia by this point, and I think this was his Hollywood breakthrough.
As others have suggested, Midnight Run is great -- buddy 'cop' movie, only they're not cops. De Niro and Grodin's chemistry was great. Action, comedy and a whole lot of heart!

A great film with Jet Li is "Hero" from 2002 directed by Zhang Yimou. It is a Chinese Wuxia film which is a genre of Chinese fiction concerning the adventures of martial artists in ancient China. Jet Li plays "The Nameless" who was summoned to the king of Qin to report about a heroic deed. The director plays with different colours (red, blue, white) that are dominant in specific parts of the story. There are fighting scenes that look unrealistic and exaggerated but that is a common stylistic thing in such films.

First time I saw this movie was at the Fantasia Film Festival in Montréal. They played mainly Asian movies and even if this is an American movie the festival presented it because of Jet Li. He was already a big star in China and a lot of people in America knew him from the Once Upon A Time In China series of films. ALL the people in the cinema (myself included) were cheering for Jet Li and wish he kicked their asses! First time I heard so many people cheering for the bad guy!

Great job Jen, completing the series. This last one I think was the best. Lethal Weapon may not be a blockbuster like Terminator or Die Hard but it is liked and last in the theater for several weeks/months. I prefer Jacky Chan over Jet Li. For action, try Jason Sthatam "The Transporter". Or finish the other 2 Bourne movies or Daniel Craig James Bond. Or for fun action adventure, try Austin Powers 😀

It's the weakest of the 4 films and it's still a great film! I think Roger's family are the key to these movies, from the first when they welcome in Riggs and his dog at Christmas all the way through to here where Leo becomes part of the extended family along with the baby and babby daddy.
Leo's story about his frog shows how amazing Pesci can be as an actor. This absolutely silly little character tells this emotional story and it is absolutely real and believable.
