Crystal Ball Photography (lensballs) & Lens Prisms -- Worth It?

Are crystal balls and lensballs worth the money and effort? How about basic prisms; can you get interesting images with them? I tried some out and found that it was fun, but not necessarily practical.

I just ordered both of these tools. My idea is to use them with different light sources and lasers … and also submerge them partly to the water with light source from the bottom (or different angles)… creativity has no limits

Crystal is fun - especially large crystal balls - the way they flip the image and make it look like a fisheye...
