Just an update to show you whats possible so far during Phase 2 as a paladin. I've decided to do this purely to show the new items at work and how much of a positive impact they've made. Which makes me even more excited to acquire T2 from Phase 3. Which you can expect when I do get my hands on it, we're going to make some waves in scarlet monastery thats for sure! Enjoy guys! :D
Spending gold on consumables for dungeon gold farm doesn’t make any sense. You need to count the time you spent farming in ungoro in your good per hour calculation.
Exactly right, I wouldn't really take any consumables with me in an actual gold farm. If you ever see me use them in a video its because I've found them along the way or they're super cheap (or just to give me an edge to do the video better) Luckily the crystals are fairly cheap on my server atm.. although I've not bought any in about 2 or 3 weeks now so prices could have risen XD
Clean run. I personally like running a 30/21/0 spread to get that blessing of sanct rolling which helps immensely for pulls like these and still am able to raid heal.
Hey, loved the video, I am levelling my Pally for this exact reason. One thing to note, I think you may be better off using Seal of Wisdom during the waterfall fight because your mana is your bottleneck, and mana converts into health more efficiently, + seal of wisdom restores enough mana for a mid tier FoL that heals for 300+. Without the water fall, it may be a bit different, but having those breaks certainly makes mana a much more valuable resource.
Hey Joe glad you liked the video! Awesome to know we started a paladin for the same reason (massive aoe farming) Thanks for the tip, although I'm not sure how much I'd last standing infant of them all with using Seal of Wisdom instead of Seal of Light. :D Thanks for the comment though mate, muchly appreciated!
that's a bloody brilliant strategy to farm in SM, I did not even know about those charged gems from Ungoro. I do kinda question the usefullness of Demon forged breastplate, it looks good on paper but I don's see it proc quite as often and I think something like the shaman breastplate might work beter because it raises your damage, healing and survivability more consistently, though I would love to hear your feedback on this. regardless great pull, I think you've earned yourself a like and a sub.
Thanks dude, glad you like the tactics I used here! Those ungoro items are surprisingly useful too. I didn't even know about them until someone mentioned it in the comment of a previous video. To be honest, I think the chest is essential for this. The reason being is because it can go off multiple times. The most I've seen is 4 mobs having it go off at once. Which if you do the math thats 120hp healing back to you every second over a 4 second period giving 480hp back in total, and this will happen multiple times. (especially in larger pulls like previous videos when I'm here) So IMO that will outweigh the extra minor stat increase from the shaman chest or other items you can get. But anyways man, thats just my opinion. Thank you for the comment and the sub, hugely appreciated! :D

Time: 7:07 min > Difficulty:hard >Survivability : hard Avarage time : 7:51 min >Difficulty: hard > Surivability : hard Conclusion: As you can see, the demon forged breastplate has a slightly beter time and easier survivability than with the shaman king breastplate, I would also add that I had to focus much harder without the demon forged breastplate, one small misclick or a drop too late would have meant death, I also had to drop much more often for the same pull. So in short i was incorrect, the demonforged breastplate is beter for this run and most likely with more mobs pulled the effect would be even greater, though if you don’t have the breastplate you can still pull it off, it’s just much harder.
@@golagiswatchingyou2966 Excellent info there, lots of details thank you for that!! :D I think that if I was to do this, I would definitely have the demonforged chest on. Although like you say, if you literally are fresh at 60 and for what ever reason can't have it just yet.. Then it is possible which is good for everybody to know. There is another chest that is similar to the Demonforged one, Truesilver I believe it is called? its like a lesser version of it and cheaper to make so if anybody is in the no gold or fresh 60 category that could be a good alternative. I also notice you mention the use of 1 crystal spire from unogoro right? Is that the one that acts similar to thorns/retri aura? (I've finished the next video on how to get them and mentioned I didn't know exactly what all of them do) Nice gear too man :D Hope you had fun testing it all out and found some new ways to farm SM (going with a grp of boosties is the most optimal at the moment)
Very cool farm, makes me want to revisit here again! One more consumable you could use is Oil of Immolation, although I'm not sure if they'd share a cooldown with the UnGoro items.. but it is a nice 250dmg over time item that you can have 100% uptime on if you try them. Thanks again for another great video, looking forward to more as always! :)
Yeah man it's pretty crazy to think about if you imagine all of those items and consumes and all that coming together. It would be like fireworks to watch it back on film haha! But yeah, good question to think about. I've got some of those oils in my bank so I may have to test them out in future videos :D Glad you're still keeping up todate and enjoying the videos mate. More to come soon! :D
I respect the effort but a few unsolicited tips / points of contention you might say. Why holy shock instead of Blessing of Sanc? The self-heal from holy shock is very mana inefficient and on a long CD. Blessing of sanc pushes out a ton of extra damage without using ANY mana. using the waterfall gives you the easy divine favor+holy light combo twice per fight, and you also have bubble+bandage and even BOP + holy light if you want it, every instance. Popping 15-20g worth of consumes to do this kind of defeats the purpose of it being a gold farm. At least that's the price on my server. I think it takes you 2 runs to turn a profit. Mongoose especially I don't think is necessary, but the ungoro items make sense and are MUCH cheaper. You do of course need to actually win the fight =P I do love paladin AOE grinding. I would suggest for future content that you try showing either no consumes or minimal consumes, and consider adjusting your spec. The higher damage from Blessing of Sanc plus the "passive heal" component of reducing damage greatly outweighs the utility of holy shock and I have a hard time getting past this (at least IMO) poor, basic decision regarding talents.
You'll come to realise my view point on this as a gold farm if you've seen all of my videos on it. Thanks for the comment mate. Hope you enjoyed the video in anycase
Hey man, I just want to say thanks for putting out these videos. It was a major inspiration for getting my pally to 60! Ive been doing stocks boosts and I plan on moving up to sm soon! I have a couple of tips I can share too! Someone mentioned Oil of Immolation, but it also has spell power scaling, so it can make the big pull in cath a fair bit quicker. You can make a moveover macro for your holy shock to heal yourself on the fly, I noticed you never really make much use of it and it could extend the time you can pull mobs Hotswap your auras on the fly! I bind both devo and ret aura to my mouse wheel so I can pull with devo and than swap to ret when they are all grouped. I hope some of those tips may be able to help you! Thank you for the work you put into these videos!
Glad you've been enjoying the content and its awesome you've gotten your paladin doing this kind of thing. This is one of the reasons I wanted to put these videos out, for people to do the same! :D Super handy item the Oil is, I've got a few in my bank still. Glad you mentioned them as they're quite useful.. and cheap I believe :D The holy shock macro is new news to me though so thanks for sharing that! How could I go about this, is it the /target self then /cast holyshock right? Thanks for the input and the comment Chilax. Always appreciate these bigger comments, especially ones that can help people out too :D
@@RolyTheHolyPaladin The macro you suggested would work, but it will make you drop your target which could cause issues if you are trying to keep autoing your seal target. Try this macro and see if it works /cast [target=player] . I don't have holy shock myself so I can't test it out, but it should cast holy shock on yourself without deselecting you target. I also would like to run an idea I have been thinking of lately. I am not sure how attached you are to holy shock, but there is a boosting build which is 30/21/0 which allows you to take blessing of sanctuary while still healing raids just fine. I just don't find holy shock too useful now with our current gear until we get more tier 2 pieces, and taking sanctuary will greatly reduce the damage you take during these runs! I hope some of this might help you out a bit! I'm still trying to gear up myself (13 emp runs and no force of will, help me) so I can try a lot of these boosts/ gold farms too!
@@Kaizuki2140 Does Oil actually scale with spellpower in classic? I was lead to believe it did not. Also yes I have been 30/21/0 since I hit 60, it rocks. Although the damage reduction from Sanctuary and Force of will share diminishing returns so you may be disapointed in the trinket if you get sanct
@@FuzevSponge I've seen some Reddit threads that say both oil and dragon breath chili are scaling with spell power in classic, but I'll also do some testing myself later to make sure. They both may share diminishing returns, but even still I don't see many other trinkets that could work better than uther's strength and force of will combo.
@@Kaizuki2140 Excellent, thank you for that! I will try it out when I'm next online and try to get it working. If it does that will be amazing because it will then turn into a nice 700 or so hp potion ;) Sure, so that spec is something I will consider. But not at the moment. The reason is simply because I prefer holy shock over sanctuary. Although like you say, later down the line with more T2 items I think I would like to try it out to see which is more effective overall by trying both specs out solo in SM Cath :D (I will do a video on that also for everybody to see) I can see advantages to both, but as it stands I wouldn't want to change it up now as I've done the entire series based on this same spec. So thank you for the input mate, hugely appreciated! Unlucky on the emperor runs too XD Fingers crossed you get it before the 20th run, I know how frustrating that crap can be XD
I just did about 10 runs, took 12 mins per run on average. I averaged about 25g/hour including in price of mana potions and repairs. Not terrible but there is definitely easier things out there which give more g/hour.
That was to be expected. Glad you took the time to see how much gold exactly you get from half of the instance though per hour, which is an interesting thing to take note of :D This will definitely become more viable later down the road when you include the entire dungeon into the mix :D Thanks for doing that though dude!
@@MrTincify If im solo farming, I usually do SFK during the daytime (as there is a vendor at day only). Takes about half hour total. Usually tho I just log on, put a message in trade chat for stockade boosts for 1g per run. The speed I do stockades makes it atleast 45g per hour if I have a full group. For sure, I imagine with everything all stacked together. You could effectively do some serious damage output and have crazy survivability. Something I am looking forward to trying once I have all of the amour I am aiming to get :D Thanks for the comment and pointing that out mate!

Yo roly, I think judging your wisdom is costing you more mana in the long run on these mobs. Because you then have to reapply it to urself and that mana adds up
Probably true, it depends on which point in the pull you are at and how your mana/hp are doing really. Lots of factors can affect it. Thanks for the comment mate :)

@@RolyTheHolyPaladin i have the Trinked from the Imperator, but Not that from Uther. it is still 40g in my Auktionhaus. in the Moment i habe internal flame from ragnaros as my Second Trinked.
@@J.Severin The trinket from Ragnaros is also really good, it's more about what you've got and how you use it. There are a number of alterations you can use, although I would definitely invest that 40g on Uther's Strength as it's a really good trinket. Thanks for the comment mate :D
i struggle to choose between damage output and damage mitigation a lot while farming because if they die faster i take less damage as well. I don't know if Mageblade would be better than flurry axe or Edward the Odd for the damage, or if Essence of the pure flame from Ragnaros would be better than Uther's strength or Force of Will.
An understandable situation to be in, as it stands right now. Flurry axe and hand of edward the odd are both better than mage blade for this kind of thing. Purely because our amour (gear/items) isn't quite on the level it needs to be yet. I've not played private servers or vanilla's raid content at 60 so I can't be sure even once we are decked in t2 if it will still be good or not. Only time will tell on that front (I will be covering it once I acquire the set myself) But even if mage blade still isn't good, the new items we can get will make up for damage anyway :D Hope this helps! :D
At the moment it is still a bit much, although I've only tried a couple of times. So maybe with practise its doable. Glad you liked the tactics here and thanks for the comment mate! :D
31 Holy - 13 Protection - 7 Retribution. Click the link in the description to this video where I show a breakdown of them if you would like more info mate :D
I can't confirm 100% a yes or no answer to you unfortunately there, although since most of the hits in here are over 25 damage, I imagine it wouldn't. Also note that both of my trinkets do proc fairly often during both pulls in here which are smaller than my other pulls I've done. Hope this helps mate (or at least inspires someone with a definitive answer to reply to you)
That would make sense, but likely Roly has said the damage is likely over that amount and will go straight through the shield. What is to note about absorption effects is that although it "absorbs 25 damage" if multiple mobs strike at the same time, which is typical of big pulls, they can all be batched into the same absorption effect. I've seen in my stockades pulls where you half the dungeon on you, every mob swing at me at once and all get absorbed. EDIT 2: if the 25 absorb shield happens to absorb one hit that's a 6% chance(skullflame and breastplate) to heal approximately 200 based on your spellpower. That's an average of 12 healing versus the 25 shield absorb. Part 2 TLDR: Uther's strength is better when mobs hit higher, and less effective when they hit for less, BUT it is still another effective means of damage prevention. (Note I did not consider the potential healing that the extra damage from return damage like Ret aura and skullflame has on total life saved compared to the absorption effect as this is way above my pay grade.) _____________________ Uther's strength is an interesting one because it's a 2% to absorb say 200 damage( I don't know the amount), which prevents in SM about 6 hits on average. Now the chance for one of your lifesteal effects to proc here is 3% from the chest and 3% from the skullflame. Now that's 6% per time struck and you missed 6 chances of being struck so if my math is correct that's a 36% chance in the duration of the Uther's strength shield to heal for around 200 depending on spellpower. This means on average during the shield uptime you would lose around 72 healing potential, versus the 200 health gained from the shield (plus potential extra if hits are batched) This is just my maths I just done in my head so I dunno if the method is correct. Edit: in dungeons where the damage you take is minor, like stockades and deadmines where the damage ranges from 10-20, the effect of Uther's strength would reduce, but I still believe be as effective as another proc off the shield or chestpiece. Using my previous example, if the shield now takes 18 hits to break the shield, then that is a potential heal loss of around 210ish. So equivalent to the Uther's Strength absorption amount. In this case it may just be better to use a different trinket such as essence of pure flame or FoW. However anecdotally, I did notice to be able to pull more at once once I had Uther's strength, but that isn't supported on theory. I also however bring the argument that Uther's Strength prevents the smoothness of return healing from your shield and chest, making you sometimes take an incredible amount of net damage at once. (You may notice this when you leave your bubble in an aoe pull have no Demonforged procs up) As spellpower available becomes greater, Uther's strength will naturally reduce in effectiveness due to the scaling of the skullflame shield and demonforged breastplate. You will have to get a feel for it as there are many variables including the lost effectiveness of damage return procs like skullflame shield in total life expenditure which I did not consider. Therefore Uther's strength is probably only compares at a 80-90% direct healing comparison.
@@FuzevSponge This is very interesting, I also notice at times like in this video for example. If you play it back for the first big pull. There are occasions where the hp will go up rather than down when FoW is up and only SoL is active to only drop again when the Uthers Strength procs you can see it from around 6 minutes in. It does seem to prevent other heals from occurring. Which makes me wonder later down the road to change Uthers Strength for something else when we have access to better gear :D Thanks for the huge comment though mate! Super insightful to see your perspective from trying this also with the same items to confirm tiny details, helping over all to perfect this :D
@@RolyTheHolyPaladin yeah I notice the fluctuations alot too, but honestly there is alot of rng involved. There is times where I will do the stockade pull and require to bubble and even LoH at times, where as others I don't need either cooldown as the procs just keep me healthy. From me writing this stuff I realised that if I'm doing stockades I will consider using a different trinket due to the lower damage, but in things like Scarlet Monastery I will still use it as the math supports it in favour over other trinkets imo. I need to do some more testing with force of will with Blessing of Sanctuary tho as force of wills 1-2 damage prevention per hit may still be worth it
What can I do as a pure holy paladin for gold farming? I've been farming arcane crystals but holy shit is it awful. BWL was just announced and now there is ZERO way I can get my epic mount unless I start gold farming. But gold farming seems impossible as a straight holy paladin. But my guild wants me to be a holy paladin.
Step back, take a deep breath. Annndd relax. You're in the right place mate! This channel is full of videos specifically for this very issue :D Also a lot of the comments on the videos also have extra bits of useful info I may have missed in the videos. The best one by far is to take a group of lower levels into SM Arm or Cath. Although, if you prefer solo farms. SM GY is great for pure vendor gold or, pick up enchanting and head on down to RFD (follow my part 2 video on that to kill the bosses) Hope this helps mate! :D

Skullflames drain life proc scales with 100% of spell power. The aoe dmg sadly does not scale. Demonforged breastplate scales with 40%. Lifestealing enchant doesnt. However most lifesteal weapon procs do scale and at 100% too
Awesome, thank you for sharing with everyone man. Interesting to know about the weapons too. Makes me wonder if the faster one like Flurryaxe is better than things like Wraithsyche or the green one from ST :D Again, thank you for the comment mate :D

It's around 40g or more from the raw loot & if you vendor everything, then de the greens and blues take this closer to 80g depending on your AH (if you're solo) you need to look at the date of release, I recorded this before bwl.

In this experiment/test il first clear the hallway when first entering the instance of SM cat, this experiment will only try and focus on all the mobs on the first floor when entering the Chapel Gardens, this test won’t involve any mobs on the second level though some might be aggro’d when low HP mobs flee in terror. before starting, the consumables and buffs used during this pull are
- greater blessing of Wisdom
- improved retribution aura
- 1 dense weightstone
- 1 crystal charge
- 1 crystal spire
- 1 crystal restore
talent spec : 31/0/20
The first test was just to see if I would survive and how optimal the pull would be (used the same strategy used in video)
Time : 7:14 min
Difficulty : minor to moderate
Survivability : morderate
After the first test run il test the same run as described above 3 times per method and calculate the avarage time at the end as well as a conclusion based on the observations.
1. Time: 7:20min > Difficulty: moderate >Survivability : moderate to hard
2. Time: 5:46 min >Difficulty: moderate > Surivability : Hard
3. Time: 6:32 min >Difficulty: moderate > Surivability : moderate to hard
Avarage time : 7:38 min >Difficulty: moderate > Surivability : moderate to hard
Switch to ‘’plate of the shaman king’’
1. Time: 8:15 min > Difficulty:hard >Survivability : hard
2. Time: 7:29 min > Difficulty:hard >Survivability : hard
3. Time: 7:07 min > Difficulty:hard >Survivability : hard
Avarage time : 7:51 min >Difficulty: hard > Surivability : hard
Conclusion:
As you can see, the demon forged breastplate has a slightly beter time and easier survivability than with the shaman king breastplate, I would also add that I had to focus much harder without the demon forged breastplate, one small misclick or a drop too late would have meant death, I also had to drop much more often for the same pull.
(I've finished the next video on how to get them and mentioned I didn't know exactly what all of them do)
Nice gear too man :D Hope you had fun testing it all out and found some new ways to farm SM (going with a grp of boosties is the most optimal at the moment)
You do of course need to actually win the fight =P
I do love paladin AOE grinding.
You can make a moveover macro for your holy shock to heal yourself on the fly, I noticed you never really make much use of it and it could extend the time you can pull mobs
Hotswap your auras on the fly!
Super handy item the Oil is, I've got a few in my bank still.
If it does that will be amazing because it will then turn into a nice 700 or so hp potion ;)
Sure, so that spec is something I will consider.
What do you farm @super x N33k
@@MrTincify If im solo farming, I usually do SFK during the daytime (as there is a vendor at day only).
If I just wanna log on and get some quick cash, I will run the first wing and Left wing of stockades in 1 pull (takes about 5 mins with reset) and do that 5 times then log off. Takes about half hour total.
Usually tho I just log on, put a message in trade chat for stockade boosts for 1g per run. The speed I do stockades makes it atleast 45g per hour if I have a full group.
If I really can be bothered, I will find a group for SM, find 2 mages and a healer and then spam armory and cath, can do about 4 of each in an hour and its very good cash.
@@FuzevSponge Put a message in trade chat for stockade boosts for 1g per run. The speed I do stockades makes it atleast 45g per hour if I have a full group.
Um Sir - 4 people times 5 runs to lockout is = 20g. just saying.. maybe 5-10g in drops if your lucky
@@iceblock4235 Tbh yeah that was a bit of an overestimate, more like 35g/hour. Prices have changed alot... before p2 release it was well worth it due to the cost of twink items being so high
Id also say, standard price for a boost is now 2g, I was doing it cheap, so you get atleast 40g from that now
Theres also an ungoro buff that gives a 12 dmg thorns aura which i use all the time! Check it out
For sure, I imagine with everything all stacked together. You could effectively do some serious damage output and have crazy survivability. Something I am looking forward to trying once I have all of the amour I am aiming to get :D
Thanks for the comment and pointing that out mate!
Damn still no T2 pants? Do they not drop or did you stop raiding?
Think Blizzard removed them from the loot table during my runs lol. In all seriousness though, I just keep losing out on the rolls. lost out on them 3 times so far, although I've not seen them drop in about 5 weeks so heres to wishful thinking and all :D

Always good dragging nooblets in lol although I wouldn't say this is just as fun just yet since the inside of the building is still hard to do at the moment.
What about using heavy runecloth bandages to save mana over holy light?
A viable option. Although bandages have a longer cast timer so that's one thing to keep in mind

Only time will tell on that front (I will be covering it once I acquire the set myself) But even if mage blade still isn't good, the new items we can get will make up for damage anyway :D
Hope this helps! :D
clever use of waterfall, is killing the bosses there viable like this? or is the entire cathedral pull too much
At the moment it is still a bit much, although I've only tried a couple of times. So maybe with practise its doable. Glad you liked the tactics here and thanks for the comment mate! :D

As far as I know the absorbtion enchant on your chest will prevent "when Hit" procs just like Uther's Strength does. Can you confirm?
Part 2 TLDR:
Uther's strength is better when mobs hit higher, and less effective when they hit for less, BUT it is still another effective means of damage prevention. (Note I did not consider the potential healing that the extra damage from return damage like Ret aura and skullflame has on total life saved compared to the absorption effect as this is way above my pay grade.)
_____________________
Uther's strength is an interesting one because it's a 2% to absorb say 200 damage( I don't know the amount), which prevents in SM about 6 hits on average. This means on average during the shield uptime you would lose around 72 healing potential, versus the 200 health gained from the shield (plus potential extra if hits are batched)
This is just my maths I just done in my head so I dunno if the method is correct.
(You may notice this when you leave your bubble in an aoe pull have no Demonforged procs up)
As spellpower available becomes greater, Uther's strength will naturally reduce in effectiveness due to the scaling of the skullflame shield and demonforged breastplate.
Which makes me wonder later down the road to change Uthers Strength for something else when we have access to better gear :D
Thanks for the huge comment though mate! Super insightful to see your perspective from trying this also with the same items to confirm tiny details, helping over all to perfect this :D
@@RolyTheHolyPaladin I've decided to write my thesis below, please give me a PhD in Paladins
