Hi! I learned to solo ZF GY on lvl 40 pally thanks to you! I've leveled all the way up to 52 with basically just ZF GY in a matter of days. However, I am now running into a problem. Previously, I was getting 40-55 zombies per run; now, at level 52, I can only get 21-22 zombies to come out of the graves according to Nova Instance Tracker. I have confirmed that number is accurate with XtoLevel (a leveling addon that tracks many kinds of XP and mob kill statistics). I have done 5 runs of ZF GY since reaching lvl 52, and the number of zombies has been exactly 22 four times and 21 zombies one time out of those five runs. Is there a cap on the number of zombies that will spawn once you reach 52? Because I was getting literally twice as many zombies before. It seems unlikely to just be RNG/chance causing such a low number to consecutively appear. I was hoping to make it to lvl 54 in ZF GY, but now I can only get like 10k XP per run, which is approaching not worth it.
I discovered a trick to more reliably get the mobs to fall for the greed jump and double back. While you are mid air jumping from the greed wall to the jump wall tap the strafe button. That appears to cause the server to update your position, which is now over the ground and not on the wall. This has helped me very reliably keep the zombies packed in tight. I think why it was mentioned that it has a chance to cause them to double back is that you're relying on whatever tick happens that updates your character position to happen while you're in the air. tapping strafe seems to force this update and they double back nearly every time
When you do the "Greed jump" if you strafe to the left(Press "a") mid jump the mobs will almost always path down which will cause the pack to stack better and take more damage from the "greed spot" consecrate.
Hi everyone, I recently used this guide and everything still works, if you are level 40, you have got to be patient with regards to the evade spots etc. Once you're past 40 it's a breeze. My advice would be go when you are 41 or 42 to be safe. GL and thanks to Tommy for the guide.
Great video, thanks a lot, will definitely be doing this on my blood elf paladin in pre-patch. I tested a couple of things with this on the beta: - As a belf all the jumps worked perfectly, I had no issues - Holy wrath is definitely affected by the aoe cap, it was doing reduced damage to mobs compared to classic. - If you can afford to stack some spellpower gear the kills will go a lot faster. I did this on a level 64 paladin with ~190 SP and rank 1 consec was ticking for 24. Obviously you won't be able to get that much SP when levelling but it will make a difference for sure. I'll be wearing the spellpower engi goggles, +30 SP weapon enchant and using wizard oils, for example.
Okay first thanks for the video. 2nd, I could NOT make that first jump, with all the mobs pressuring me I just could not get the gapping/timing right. After 5 failed attempts, on the 6th I discovered by accident the crevice of the corner on the ground at that joint is a reset point. Mobs will reset, you can run back up avoiding the basilisk and take your time making that jump.
How much spirit do you suggest? I keep going OOM and am going through lots of mana pots. At level 51 I'm basically only using R1 consecrate and Holy Wrath.
If you're going oom, you're probably consecrating the greed spot, at 50+ you need to value Holy Wrath -> r4 consecrate Killspot -> r3 consecrate killspot I call it "greed spot" because you can only consecrate it with shitloads of mana pots at 50+, i should've highlighted it more, mb
@@kristofferbergman5973 It's going better now! Managed to get a 99k/h - currently my personal record. I've done 2 lvls this way so far and its so fun 😁
Is this run still viable? Someone said that blizzard made a "no changes" fix where mobs in dungeons teleport to next to you when you try to use reset spots.
tried it out with 40 for like 5-6 hours, some shit is always messing up -___-" getting dazzeled so much and I almost always fail the jumps, holy this run is hard. Will try some more tomorrow...
If you have plenty gold, you reckon it's worth to use weapon oils? If so, would you think mana or wizard oil is better? Also, do you think using arcane/greater arcane elixirs would be worth it? I plan to go as fast as I can during pre-patch as Horde, so I want to use any advantage I can get :D
You'd have to do some calculations to see if 12 mp5->36 spell damage (i think coefficients for consecrate are 33%, so 36 spell damage = 12 total damage over the whole duration), same with arcane elixirs
@@davidrockefeller2007 Sorry to necro this old comment, you probably know by now, but in vanilla, consecrate does have 33% coefficient. Then TBC rolled around and decided to triple it in an effort to help prot paladins scale appropriately with spell damage gear.
Do you think once pre-patch hits it will be worthwhile skilling further into the holy tree and putting points into 'purifying power'? (Reduces mana cost on concecrate and increases crit chance on holy wrath)
really nice guide :) quick question tho : how much harder do you think it is not having grenades? Since im not doing Engineering on my fresh Toon i wonder if i could still do this :)
Consecrate and Flamestrike ground aoe damage aren't nerfed by aoe cap, just every other spell And if holy wrath gets nerfed (which it might) then it won't effect times too much as you get r4 consecrate
I dont get XP leash. When you start the pull, are the mobs damaged by you in less than 30 seconds? If not, would that mean you get 0 exp from the entire pull?
It's only based on their current hp, so if you do no damage for 30 seconds and their health is 100%, you get 100% xp still (aka, what happens during the pull phase). If you do no damage for 30s and their health is at 35%, then if you kill them, you only get 35% of the original xp
bit harder, you'd have to jump down and pull the mobs under the arch, or hope that one turn undead in the first set of graves you pull and exorcisming the mobs under the arch will pull everything without it being awkward when you drop down later
@@Tommysalamiwow Thank you for that! Ive been struggling all day on this. Im lvl 47 but havent been able to complete a kill phase yet. :/ not sure what im doing wrong
You could probably do it at 54-60 with invis pots to get past the first mobs and then LIPs/Grenades to keep the mobs stacked for a 4 pack pull, but im not leveling a paladin again to try it out
Was wondering, why would you need spirit gear when paladins do not benefit from it in combat as they have no talent for mana regen in combat? @tommysalami
Because after 5 seconds of no casting, you start naturally regenerating mana every 2s. that naturally regenerated mana amount is based off your spirit. You don't need any talents for it and isn't tied to whether you're in combat or not.
@@Tommysalamiwow roger I completely forgot about that thank you! Will you be making an updated guide on this for the prepatch? Very curious on the talent choice
