Thank you so much for your informative and easy to follow video. I am a person who does not even pump her own gas yet I was able to do a full tuneup on a lawnmower! I’m super proud of myself and would not have been able to do without your video. Also the dogs are adorable 💕😃
Thanks Heaps Guys!, Really a Pleasure to Watch 🙏, So Relaxing 😊🌞 Thanks for Your Positive Vibes 🙏 And for Your Help, Best Wishes to you both, and to all the other Watches and Subscribers out there 😊🙏
Thank you! 70 year old female and a dyed in the wool do it yourselfer, I was given a TB 240 to mow my little space, 1 video from your site, now I'm the Man! Thanks Again....
I love this family! I love their dogs and the person who explaining, he is thorough and relaxed and polite. The camera holder also makes it interactive and interesting.
Thanks so much. My dad usually does this for me but this year and last year he couldn't. You filled in the role of my dad and I changed my oil myself. You were very helpful and it was very simple. My oil was extremely black!! Good thing I got it done. Thanks again. Say hi to the lady doing the recording. It was fun!!
Your lawn mower is running beautifully. Crank the mower on and throw it on the jerk who keyed the bottom passenger side of your truck door. BTW, great informative video!
Good video. Thanks for putting it together. The only thing I would comment on is changing the spark plug. Generally, the spark plugs that we use on lawn mowers are as robust as the ones we stick in our cars. Those spark plugs typically last for +80K miles (but should be inspected at more frequent intervals ~30K). Spark plugs on lawn mowers are easy to check (as you demonstrated). Instead of changing the spark plug, I would simply suggest inspecting it. If it ain't broke, don't replace it. If you are changing your spark plug out on a yearly basis, you have a higher chance of introducing a faulty plug than preventing the older one from going out (aka infant mortality). If you are replacing your spark plugs on a yearly basis because the spark plugs are going bad that fast, I would suggest that there is something else wrong with the lawn mower.
Blaine Edwards Very true, I replaced the spark plugs in my 21 year old garden tractor twice in its whole life. It ran fine why waste money on spark plugs when they weren't worn out and it was running perfectly fine. A shop on the other hand will certainly want you to replace the spark plug every time they touch your mower as its money in their pocket. This is why you need to learn to do these things on your own and only change what really needs changed....otherwise that tune up or service quickly costs as much as a new mower LOL.
the fact you started off with labs was a sneaky tactic, that was me hooked then incase they were shown again and after that i could'nt look away 😂 very good video, clear and informative with no long winded and complicated chit chat 👍🏼 best wishes from scotland 🏴
I just wanted to thank you SO MUCH for posting this video. I am a recent widow and am trying to learn how to repair things by myself so I don't have to spend money. This video gave me the confidence and knowledge to do it myself! THANKS! If you want to see the video I did of myself working on my own mower let me know. One thing I forgot to do was warm it up for 5 minutes first. :(
Thanks for putting this together. I forgot to run the mower before emptying the oil, but at least it's changed. It runs so much better now - no more sputtering.
I have the exact same model, love it got used two years ago it was neglected and I’ve restored it to brand new condition. Starts on the first pull everytime, wish Briggs never got rid of these L head Quantum engines. They are so reliable over those new OHV junk ones. Such a good video!!
Oh my... such a great and wonderful video. Really! It's comfy and easy going with a family 'feel'. Thanks for the vote of confidence for all of us "never done it" people. I knew it was pretty easy, but wow. Thanks for taking the time to share.
Great job guys! I've been mowing with a Lawn Boy for about 6 years - typically clean the deck, but have never done the oil or air filter. Going out to get the parts today, along with a new blade. Thank you!
I got a free cub cadet lawn mower and i looked at the oil when i got it home and it was dirty and i also did a maintenance by changing the oil and looking at my carburetor float bowl for any signs of water and i cleaned it out then i add fresh gas and tuned it up really nice. My next maintenance on it will be is a clean up on the oil tube and checking the gasket for any wear
I'm the 134th person to "thumbs up" this video. Great coverage of many areas in a condensed yet engaging way. I certainly enjoyed the dog bits in between. Keep it up sir. - Mitt
I may have mentioned this before, but wonderful video. Watched it again this year as a refresher course on my mower maintenance and really enjoyed your presentation style, causal and informative interactive nature with the camera lady. Nice job, one of the better videos out there!
Thank you for the great video! My husband is away on military duty and I will be cutting the lawn in the mean time. I expected the tune-up to be more complicated, but following your instructions makes it quite simple do.
Great video and thanks for the info I want to tune up my lawnmower myself. I enjoyed watching the doggs also and the lady asking questions was very convenient.
Thank you very much! This happens to be the best video on the tube. I've just inherited a great amount of lawn and I don't know a thing about lawn mowers. You've demonstrated very well.
Great video Eric. I sure could have used this a month ago. Yes, we mow early in Texas! I was trying to figure out where to change the air filter, and I disassembled the carburetor! What a mess! Got it up and running smooth now. Thanks for all the tips!! Tim in Dallas.
Great video. If I can suggest-when you have your mower on its side and drained of fuel & oil-good time to take the blade off and sharpen it (you mentioned it being important at the end of your video-but if avg home owner changes oil 1x per season-best to at least start the season with a sharp blade)...easiest with an impact gun-but a breaker-bar and a block of wood works. As for sharpening-I use an angle grinder b/c it is fast and effective. I clamp the blade horizontally-do one side then flip it around and do the otherside-after use a screwdriver to check for balance on the blade-if one side dips-take a bit more off it till it balances-i dip the threads in the use motor oil so the bolt doesn't seize in the shaft (do make sure it is tight-like lug nuts on a car tire-after your first mow-check blade for tightness-if you get vibration-that's a signe bolt is loose-tighten it before it comes off and hurts you! I think a new spark plug is the least important item in your tune up-if you have spark and your mower starts easily and runs-no need to change it and risk cross threading/stripping/over tightening/under tightening the spark plug-I have a '96 toro orig spark plug-starts 1st pull everytime. Again-great video!
What a great video. I didn't think you'd have such interesting details to add - like the plastic bag under the gas cap, or heck, even the paper funnel. Thanks!
Well done! I enjoyed this video, it was very informative. I am new to mowing, as I am a new home owner, but this covered the changing oil, which is often overlooked, as it is assumed everyone knows how to change the oil, but not me. So thank you for the video, also your camera person/co-host was awesome!
Thank you for this great video. Really enjoyed the dogs enjoying the outdoors. I feel comfortable with your demeanor and the speed that you were given instructions. I felt like my uncle was with me guiding me through the whole process thanks again saved my lawnmower. I moved into the house and it came with the lawnmower but it was pretty Credi next to you is running back up like new
Well, i'm trying the fuel stabalizer on the next tune up. Hopefully, it'll make the engine last just another 3 yrs. So far, i've had mine for 5 yrs. works great!
You forgot to gap your plug according to the manual. Good tip on the gas stabilizer. The greenest lawns are cut with sharp mower blades. Dull ones “chew” the tips of the grass blades and strip out the color. Love your vids.
For the filter, you can do like I did. Take the old dirty filter, walk up to a big box store associate, and be like "I need a new one of these". This is a great video by the way.
get hte grass growing over the weeeds mow high bag the clippings if theree is weeds so you dont spread more weeds ..mulch when no weeds. thanks for. the video ! learned alot
hi Gerald, the pull cord is supposed to wind back into the engine housing after the engine starts. if yours does not, it needs to be repaired. thanks! eric.
Great RUclips video, thank you for your the time you took in demonstrating how to properly tune up your lawnmower, Im lucky mine is almost identical from your lawnmower. Now my lawnmower starts at the first pull and the engine is running smoothly. Thank you
Good tips thanks. I've got one of those "Just check and add Oil" engines and they won't tell you how to change it. Well my oil never runs out, so I've never had to add any, but it looks like liquid metal sludge after two and a half years of mowing. Seems like "Just check and add" is really a way to sell more mowers, smh. I'm gonna go change it, cheers!
Could have used these tips 25 years ago... I when thru so many mowers.... Now I got a small yard and just use electric mower, it starts every time. But thanks about the cleaning the deck I do need to do that.
I love how you have the young lady asking simple questions which I wouldn't have thought that I needed answers to. Good work guys.
Thank you so much I thought it was complicated and this saves so much money!!
Hi everybody!
Thank you for this class.
As a women that have never done this,
I feel empowered now.
Thank you again.
Thank you so much for your informative and easy to follow video. I am a person who does not even pump her own gas yet I was able to do a full tuneup on a lawnmower! I’m super proud of myself and would not have been able to do without your video. Also the dogs are adorable 💕😃
Extremely helpful. I was about to buy a new mower for $500+ but this video helped me get my old one running for less than $20. You rock!
Yeah!
Thanks Heaps Guys!, Really a Pleasure to Watch 🙏, So Relaxing 😊🌞 Thanks for Your Positive Vibes 🙏 And for Your Help, Best Wishes to you both, and to all the other Watches and Subscribers out there 😊🙏
I am a female and want to learn how to maintain our lawn mower. Your video helps me. Thank you so much!
Wow great to hear, happy to help!
Thanks to your video, I was able to fix / tun-up my lawnmower.
ams gold excellent. a lawnmower tune up will help the mower last longer. thx! eric.
Thank you! 70 year old female and a dyed in the wool do it yourselfer, I was given a TB 240 to mow my little space, 1 video from your site, now I'm the Man! Thanks Again....
My Honda mulching mower is going on 30 years old.
I love this family! I love their dogs and the person who explaining, he is thorough and relaxed and polite. The camera holder also makes it interactive and interesting.
I love the constant golden cut aways 😊
Thank you I am learning a lot now cutting my grass is fun now that I am retired.i think the dog is ready to run and play.
Thanks! I know I've said this before, but anytime I look up a 'how to' do something video, Garden fork has what I need. 😆
Thanks so much. My dad usually does this for me but this year and last year he couldn't. You filled in the role of my dad and I changed my oil myself. You were very helpful and it was very simple. Your lawn mower is running beautifully. Crank the mower on and throw it on the jerk who keyed the bottom passenger side of your truck door. BTW, great informative video!
Ear and eye protection too! Deafness is gradual and blindless is instantaneous. Both are detrimental! Great tips.
You are a wonderful teacher! I appreciate the camera woman's questions and your dogs are lovely! Thank you!
I love how you add the shots of your beautiful doggies!!! Very helpful. Husband died last fall so I didn't have any idea how to do this.
Thanks! Helped me fix up a Craftsman mower I found in the neighbor's trash! Works great now.
Excellent!
this is probably the best video I've seen by far with maintenance on small engines
+Andy Cuthbertson thx Andy, i try to get the key points across, i post new DIY vids every week . thx! eric.

Blaine Edwards Thanks for the info Blaine, I've always been on autopilot with the spark plug replacement. eric.

This was the greatest DIY video. I completed everything but spark plugs. Can’t find a spark plug ratchet. Thanks a bunch for wonderful instructions.
thanks robert, she makes changing the oil a lot better! eric.
the fact you started off with labs was a sneaky tactic, that was me hooked then incase they were shown again and after that i could'nt look away 😂 very good video, clear and informative with no long winded and complicated chit chat 👍🏼 best wishes from scotland 🏴

+Renae Tolbert great to hear Renae! eric.
I’m watching this cause I never had a brand new mower before. I haven’t used it that much but I know it’s time for a tune up. Thanks for the advice.
ok... hands down, one of the friendliest (wife's comments and dogs) and watchable YT how to's out there. Six stars if six were an option. Thanks!
Thanks for putting this together. I forgot to run the mower before emptying the oil, but at least it's changed. It runs so much better now - no more sputtering.
good to hear from you. lawn mower season is here soon! eric.
Thank you for video. New home owner here. RUclips has been a god send. You are the best. Beautiful dogs!
I have the exact same model, love it got used two years ago it was neglected and I’ve restored it to brand new condition. Starts on the first pull everytime, wish Briggs never got rid of these L head Quantum engines. They are so reliable over those new OHV junk ones. Such a good video!!
Great video, love the way your wife asks questions that we may all ask. Please keep them coming. Love your accent by the way lol!
Its 20 years I have my lawn mower changed the oil twice and changed the sparkplug once, works perfect, no worries I dont do that with my cars lol!!!
Oh my... such a great and wonderful video. Really! It's comfy and easy going with a family 'feel'. Thanks for the vote of confidence for all of us "never done it" people. I knew it was pretty easy, but wow. Thanks for taking the time to share.
Very informative video, very well & soft spoken. Well done to both of ya! This video is very helpful and easy to watch!
Thank you so much for posting i paid $100 for a lawn mower last year and i want it to last and haven't done a single thing to it yet!
Great job guys! I've been mowing with a Lawn Boy for about 6 years - typically clean the deck, but have never done the oil or air filter. Going out to get the parts today, along with a new blade. Thank you!
a new blade will make a big difference! thx, eric.

nice video... kudos to the camera lady for asking questions. .. I actually had some of the same questions she asked
Forget the mower, the dogs are AWESOME!!!
Doug W the pups love the lawnmower, it means we find tennis balls in the grass! eric
Cute video! Informative! Love the pup!
I'm the 134th person to "thumbs up" this video. Great coverage of many areas in a condensed yet engaging way. I certainly enjoyed the dog bits in between. Keep it up sir.

your dogs are the start of this cool video.. I love this ☺
I use to save the old oil. When I had 5 gallons I would mix it with sand in a wheel barrow to make asphalt and put it in my driveway!
Thank you so much for this video you gave me the confidence to go ahead and change the oil right there and then.
Glad I could help! Eric.
Thank you both for the information and for the occasional cut to the dogs ♥️
nice video Eric very thorough.... and your camera gal has a beautiful voice... you must let her star in your videos
Thank you! First time changing the oil by myself. Worked perfectly.
Chelsea Connell great to hear! eric.
I may have mentioned this before, but wonderful video. Watched it again this year as a refresher course on my mower maintenance and really enjoyed your presentation style, causal and informative interactive nature with the camera lady. Nice job, one of the better videos out there!

Nice video... well explained and not trying to over complicate it
As soon as I saw Labs I knew this video was gonna be awesome. Thank you, now I'm looking forward to this task.👍
wow thx! :)
Thank you for the great video! My husband is away on military duty and I will be cutting the lawn in the mean time. I expected the tune-up to be more complicated, but following your instructions makes it quite simple do.
SCARLET W Hi Scarlet, any questions please email me eric@gardenfork.tv thank you for your service, eric.
At 9minutes," YEAH, I learned that more than Once " it's classic.
That's a cool looking f150 back there, nice vid
thx!
Great video and thanks for the info I want to tune up my lawnmower myself. I enjoyed watching the doggs also and the lady asking questions was very convenient.
Good to hear Laurence!
Thank you very much! This happens to be the best video on the tube. I've just inherited a great amount of lawn and I don't know a thing about lawn mowers. You've demonstrated very well.
Yeah! i suggest making the lawn smaller if you can, makes the job easier. thx!
Great video. Thanks brother.
Thank you for the quick and easy instructions. Love your camera crew's input!
Very helpful. Thank you!
I didn't know about the filter thank you ☺️ for the information.👍

+Truetothat454 yes, that works too! eric.
Great video thanks!
Great video, I am from the UK, and petrol mowers seem to be very similar wherever you go as are the components. I'll get to work on my one now...
Thanks Eric, I'm glad the doggies were there to help;-)
the pups are good at lawnmower repair! eric.
This was super helpful. Just changed the oil in my mower and did the maintenance, thanks!
Thank you for not dumping it
