- Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed is the very-not-good sequel to the kind-of-fun original live-action Scooby Doo movie. It's cringe-worthy. And full of sins!
Thursday: Animated espionage.
Remember, no movie is without sin! Which movie's sins should we expose next?!

The most impressive thing about this movie is that they found and cast someone who was actually kinda sorta resembling Shaggy as Shaggy
He voiced shaggy in many of the animated movies as well and a version of the show. He really did a good shaggy in my opinion i wish they had him in the Scoob movie
@@Austynrox Knowing he wasn't Shaggy in Scoob immediately killed my want of seeing it. Even he was surprised when he found out he wasn't cast for the role when production started on it, and that's just sad.
ThatDudeWithBoobs it was good but it did kill shaggy for me. He just seemed to have to whiny of a voice for me to like him. But it was a good movie still in my opinion
AustynRox Scoob was really good considering none of the O.G. voice actors where in it except for Frank Welker who voiced scooby.
Zachary Alger yes it was. I think they all did good job as their character especially Mark Wahlburg and Zac Efron but I didn’t really like shaggy just couldnt get over the voice
The minute I saw the title I immediately thought: "They can sin this movie all they want but if they don't take a sin off for Matthew Lillard I will riot"... they made the correct decision...
He got a sin off in the first one, too. Say what you will about these movies but Lillard absolutely nailed it in both.
Matthew lillard not even getting asked to voice shaggy in Scoob! Is a war crime
@@GuyYouMetOnline Mathew lillard is great in everything
Exactly
My only concern was that it was for the "Every other freaking day" scene instead of the "YOU'RE PUSHING YOUR LUCK SCOOB!!!" scene. Missed laughter.
When my daughter was little she asked me how they got Scooby to act in this movie. I told her Scooby snacks. She nodded approvingly and said "Of Course!" : ) She totally believed Scooby was real.
adorable!!!
That’s so cute!🥺
So. How heartbroken was she when she found out he wasnt.
@@MommaWolf2298 Wait What!?
@@meerkat10 dont worry about it.
Scooby-doo is just one of those things that can’t even be ruined by terrible remakes
What about be cool Scooby-Doo
This movie was literally my childhood I am of course a little biased.
If someone makes a terrible remake of a terrible movie, does this mean the negativity loops around for the remake and makes it a good movie?
@@ketchupwithmustard8908 we don't mention that name here..
Ketchup With mustard honestly it’s not that bad. It’s supposed to be stupid and though it can’t compare to the other series, it never made any attempt to.
Matthew Lillard is a treasure. He tried his best and stayed on as Shaggy when Casey Casem retired.
I was heart broken when I found out he wasn’t casted in the new Scooby☹️
Shame they replaced him in the new one. I hope they wise up and at least offer it back to him though I wouldn't blame him if by he said no
Lillard is an underrated actor full stop - he’s brilliant as Shaggy.
@@alillstitious Matthew was rather bummed himself that they didn't ask him to voice Shaggy. I mean, they got Frank Welker (although not to voice Fred).
Jim B. Sorry, I’m confused about that last part, are you saying you wanted Frank Welker to voice fred?
Matthew Lillard is criminally underused in everything he's in.
Amen! Also, I don't know why exactly but I would LOVE to see him in a Joss Whedon project! For some reason, I just feel like their styles would mesh together so perfectly just like his and John Waters' did in Serial Mom.
Agreed. He’s mad talented but the material he’s gotten really limits his acting abilities.
he needs a better manager and studio A24 to give him some new edgy movie script to finally grab him some real recognition
he was underused in this one, but it may well have been by necessity, he was causing permanent damage to his vocal cords with the voice he was doing for Shaggy, they may have held him back to avoid causing his to have to drop out
He's got soooo much range
This movie was literally my childhood, like I still love this movie, but still, I should’ve seen this coming
Same man
Cinema Sins: No movie is without sin Shaggy: “ARE YOU CHALLENGING ME”
Cinema Sins: Yes.
You forgot "PaL" at the end a that lol
I'm weak
I say it in a shaggy accent
Jeremy: 100 sins for bunny joke.
Me: I really like the bunny and appreciate it because it can't be easy for a dog to draw.
Definitely not easy, and he draws better than I do!
100% my favourite joke from both movies
Me and my mom always say Bunny like him lmao
My dog gets called bunnie because of how she runs and I always say it like Scooby
I feel like the movie is definitely meant to be a piss take of scooby doo rather than a scooby doo movie and the bunny joke epitomises that.
I feel with all the Scooby-Doo movies all these years *Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island* was probably the best of the series
The video was up for 32 Seconds when i clicked on it, how the hell did you comment 12 hours ago?!
What powers do you have
How?tell us
He has the power of paying to see the video before it’s released
Hol up...
"Biggest sin of this movie is actual monster being created"
I mean Scooby Doo and the Zombie Island use that magnificently
And don't forget Witch's Ghost, and any of the four direct-to-DVD movies. I was so confused.
Or that alien one.
Basically all the Scooby doo movies have real monsters. Alot have fake monsters and then reveal real monsters. The series can't have real monsters. The movies are whatever.
Then there's the upcoming camelot film
@@ianrose6218 and long before that the 13 Ghosts of Scooby Doo with Vincent Price
I don't think that Zombie Island was a good Scooby movie FOR THAT REASON, though. HEAR ME OUT: It's not a bad movie, it's just that it misses the point of a Scooby Doo movie, which is that the real monster was actually a human. Even in Cyberchase and Alien Invaders, they got that the true villain was just a human. I've done entire research papers on this. The underlying message of Scooby Doo is that, beneath the literal or figurative mask, mankind was the true source of evil, which is a very mature theme for a kids' show, but one that has been around from the very beginning of Scooby Doo. Attempts to make Scooby Doo "dark" and "edgy" by making the villain at the end a literal monster, like a zombie or a witch, undermines the moral and pins the darkness on imaginary creations so that we can pretend "thank goodness those don't exist in the real world". Losing the point of the original series is where so many children's series-turned-live action movies mess up. As someone who plans on going into film, this is a very important topic to me and one that I am very passionate about, so if you want to discuss this with me further, please do. I would love to discuss this in more depth.
Shaggy: "This looks medicinal!" Cinemasins: "Presidential health advice." DING lmfao
"This has to be tied for the most terrible day in my life."
"Tied with what?"
"Every other freaking day of my life!"

Great actors like Lillard deserve better
The day Scoob was released could have been the answer too.

-200 sins for the “Whos your mommy?” scene.
The context of that scene always went over my head as a kid, but seeing it as an adult...phew Velma was looking for action! XD (But in all seriousness she looked amazing, loved what she did with her hair).
The “m-m-my mommy?..”
I want to see a scene where she says that too Daphne. ^_^ UWU.

I can confirm saying, “Tug my chew toy” during intercourse does not go well. My girl friend instantly got dressed, walked out and hasn’t said a word to me since.

A scooby doo movie isn't "scooby doo" unless there's an unmasking? How bout a Scooby movie that doesn't even have a mystery?
Directors of "Scoob!":
"Genius..."
"they have thrown in real ghosts and goblins, but those were always the least appealing."
Scooby Doo on Zombie Island: "I don't remember asking you a goddamn thing!"
No one:
Scooby: bUnNy
CinemaSins: *100 sins*
He should have said, wabbit!
That was a cute scene that didn’t deserve 100+ sins
The Press: Fred Jones had this to say, “I Think Coolsville Sucks”
Man this movie captured the corrupt media perfectly
@Dxlilah but why?
@Ken Doll trump is a degenerate on and off camera, and a public health hazard.
@Ken Doll Lmao its not fake news when it comes to Trump
Well Coolsville is in Ohio so it makes sense Ohio does stinks I mean two NFL Teams that suck and both founded by Paul Brown
*facepalm*
When the edited audio byte seems more fake in movies, but the characters in-universe don’t notice. Just like you don’t in your living room
*double facepalm*
These movies are a satire of how retarded humans are, when they blindly try working together and uniting
(Like the morons wearing masks in public, thinking they are “helping”)
Helping what? Are you not breathing the air? Cuz if your breathing the same air unfiltered it’s pointless
A respirator like contractors wear, or military hazmat teams. Would be effective
Toilet paper over your face won’t stop shit, God The media bends your brains over the bed And you like it. That’s the fucked up part
You eat it up and now try looking down on people not listening to the bullshit, not wearing the masks

I actually laughed at Scooby's "Bunny!" It's just so random and funny to me lmao
"Why can't all dogs talk"
this was explained by the creator of scooby doo, who outright said Scooby Doo is an alien, and the same can be assumed for Scrappy who is widely disliked.
TheKHfan358over3d no one talks about Scooby-dum or Scooby-dee. I only saw Dum in a few episodes of the show and he was just a dumber version of Scooby. My mom told me about Dee.

I’m sorry: ZERO mention of Shaggy with a chick’s body?
He doesn’t want anyone to know it turned him on
Jeremy: “Since when have any of these ghosts ever been murderous?”
Dude, the evil masked figure was literally threatening to commit mass murder if Mystery inc wasn’t turned in. Sure, you can simply point that out as being just an idle threat, but the gang was literally about to get killed if Scooby hadn’t saved their asses. Did I forget to mention that these monsters are actually real?
He wasn't talking about the evil masked dude, he was talking about Tar Monster, Captain Cutler, Skeleton Men and those guys. They were mostly after jewels or money in their respective episode but here they're murderous
@@alexandernickaboine4798 I mean, yeah, but they're *actual* monsters here. The ones after jewels and etc. were the people that wore them when they were costumes. Of course the real versions (of the monsters) would be murderous.
Did Jeremy watch dis movie cuz in almost all the attacks if the Scooby Gang didn't Bob and weave the right way they would have been as dead as dogs
Films need to stop using attractive actresses, putting glasses on them and suddenly considering them "unattractive". Linda Cardellini is an absolute 10/10.
I expected the sin for "Sorry, you're cancelled" to just be "Twitter."
I think coolsville sucks!
@no love of course he would, he's done so many times in the past
@no love I think one of the reasons this line almost needs comment is that James Gunn himself went through the whole process of getting fired for old tweets (which weren't nearly as bad as other people's who got "cancelled") and then brought back. Obviously that all happened years after this movie so its more like a crazy coincidence XD

You mean besides the fact she is the main DPS of the group?

Did they even try? All her clothes look tailored, she's not even in the traditional baggy nerd girl sweater.

@Kry Kry Stott
Found the Neanderthal.
Cinema Sins: The versions of Scooby Doo with real ghosts and monsters have always been the least appealing.
Me: Someone didn't watch the Mystery Incorporated series. That's a serious sin.
Agreed
Mystery incorporated is the most legendary Scooby Doo in my opinion
Also Zombie Island
At least two of those episodes in that series legit gave me nightmares. While it wasn’t the series finale I was still weirded out by how intense that series is.
Professor Paracles was actually really scary. Best Scooby Doo show EVER. My favorite episode was season two episode nine which was called “night terrors” it was at this creepy library and it was just very creative and referenced the Shining which was cool.
16:20
Matthew Lillard made his fellow actors on set laugh
That has to be a sin off people lol 😂
Look at Velma, yeah the character is “scared” but she is about to fricking laugh when shaggy said that
Why did this video make me love this movie even more? It’s already one of my favorites, silly as it is. I know the script by heart. And somehow pointing out the absurdities a la Cinemasins just makes me love it even more. And Matthew deserved that sin off, don’t feel bad. He’s a gd treasure.
you've actually got a sense of proportion about shit and can take potential criticism about something without getting unrealistically upset about it, and seemingly taking it personally when it's got fuck all to do with you.
unlike dozens of people in the comments seemingly that went "cinema sins made a video where he criticized a movie, how DARE he do that!" despite also being seemingly aware of his work beforehand, as that is LITERALLY the point of the channel. it being a movie you like does not utterly invalidate what the entire channel is about.
apparently every majorly popular movie is totally up for grabs, but not this fucking movie because they've got feels about it.
so, congrats, you're better than the majority of humankind in this area.
it just spins me out that THIS fucking movie, this is the one that people can't take criticism over. i don't care how nostalgic you feel over it, it's kinda a ridiculous movie and someone calling it out for that doesn't equate to "fuck you, i used to LIKE your work, man!"

Ghoul school!!!
... you DO know that the "in a couple of the incarnations, they have thrown in real ghosts and goblins, they were always the least appealing" but, he is talking about JUST scooby doo, right?
he's not talking about sort of horror shows with monsters in general. he means, the scooby doo stuff with REAL monsters generally didn't do so well.
might as well said something like an episode of one show with a few AI as the bad guy things that didn't work out so great, and someone mentioning that they didn't do great, is an insult to any fucking thing with AI in it.

I love how scooby doo is multi generational, so many iterations, shows and movies. It’s just cool how I grew up on scooby doo in the late 90s/ early 2000s, but so did ppl as early as the 60s grew up on it.
“Every other freakin day of my life” was always my favorite part of this movie
They actually explain why Daphne can fight in the first movie. She got tired of being the damsel in distress so while they were shortly broken up she took martial arts classes and that’s why she can fight in the second movie
They explain a lot of things that CinemaSins pretends are plotholes. For instance, the whole "where did they get the frying pans" bit at the beginning. In the movie, there's an establishing shot right before the footage CS uses that shows them about to go through what looks like an omelet bar. They could still make a sin out of why there's an omelet bar at an evening function, or why we don't see more pans than Shaggy and Scooby use. Instead, despite both characters using pans, they make up some shit about Scooby using a bowl (which he doesn't). My guess is they did this because they wanted a sin here, yet couldn't tell if it was an omelet bar or not. They're calling out movies for lack of creativity when they themselves lack the creativity to find a more workable sin for the scene.
I know your comment is old, and this is a long reply. But as a fan of CinemaSins, this bugs me. They can do better. When they don't, I assume it's because they chose not to.

I liked Monsters Unleashed fore than the first film as a kid, and I still do now.
