  • Although I am not an old fan of Spurs, I always want to tell people around the world that how special the Spurs are. The relationships between Spurs are just like a touching movie.
    In such a commercial NBA environment, Spurs show their true nature, especially after this year, after the ceremony. Lots of captures proved my thought. They progress together, strive together, back to champions from the toughest failure together. They come from different countries and different skins, but there is no gap and distance between them. I rejoice that I can be a fan of Spurs, and hope I can make people around the world know the beauty of this TEAM.

      And I would add that it is very very hard to match the perfection of their collective game. In my opinion, this team is, to this day, the perfect example of how beautifull basketball is when team mates share the ball.

    Never forget the scene that Duncan hit the ground with both hands after he missed the clutch lay-up.
    Because of that, Duncan decided to return to 2013-2014 season instead of retire. He realized it is important to overcome Heat in his career.
    Duncan is the real fighter, he can accept failure and reborn from ash.

    I've been a SPURS fan since 2003 and this championship is the sweetest! Last year I was depressed for such a long time after that horrible loss. Now all I can do is tear up every time I see SPURS tributes and videos of their tremendous accomplishment. I'm glad the younger generation is beginning to appreciate the style of play and the work ethic that the SPURS have. GO SPURS GO!

    The first 1:47 of this video is just heartbreaking to watch and listen to. The tone of Tony and Manu's voices and seeing Tim Duncan who never shows ANY emotion slap the floor at :31 is just so powerful. This 2014 was an incredible season to see them overcome this devastating loss and come out on top. Great story for anyone even if they aren't sports fans to never give up in life.

    So the Popovich/Duncan era has now outlasted Kobe/Shaq, the Piston's big run, the Celtics big 3, the 2nd Laker run thus spanning the whole Kobe / Phil Jackson era, now Miami's Big 3, not to mention all the Western conference powers that have come and gone Mavs, Suns, etc. Other great teams come and gone but for a decade and a half there has been one constant, the San Antonio Spurs.

      @jermaineonealnumber7 9 лет назад

      Yes, but we still haven't repeated, Michael/Scottie & Shaq/Kobe 3peated, that's still out there as a challenge.
      Magic/Coop/Worthy, Zeke/Joe D, Kobe/Gasol/Lamar, DWade/LeBron/RuPaul all repeated.
      (sorry I just can't put Chris Bosh name in the same sentence as Magic & Isiah)
      As for the Kobe/Phil era we still gotta get 6 to span their era, even if we pull it off, Phil Jackson still won't swallow his asterisk.

    • @jermaineonealnumber7
      @jermaineonealnumber7 9 лет назад +4

      *****
      TD tied with Kobe right now, wouldn't it be great for Tim to get 6? It would tie Michael. As we speak Kobe is closing in passing Mike on the all-time scoring list.
      For Kobe it ain't about getting rings anymore it's about rewriting the history books. As for this Spurs fan, for Timmy, 6 would be super-extra-sweet (1 more than Kobe, as many as MJ)

    I was so heartbroken after Ray Allen's shot, and then to make thing's worse Tim Duncan misses a layup in game 7. For the Spurs to get back to the NBA finals after all the heartbreak last year and face the team they wanted and knew that they should've beaten was almost like a fairy tale where the hero overcomes all the struggles and comes out on top in the end, and I don't think enough has been said about Leonard who had never won a Finals and for him to miss a crucial free throw that set up Ray Allen to tie the game, and for him to come back and turn in the performance he did throughout the whole playoffs was what the Spurs needed. Without Leonard, the Spurs wouldn't have won their 5th NBA title, and by far the most crucial play he made was on Westbrook when he stripped it away on the fastbreak. Leonard by far was the MVP.

    I was so fucking nervous at the start of game 5. The way the Heat (LeBron) came out I thought for a second they might actually get to game 6, but once the Spurs started making their missed shots I knew they'd come back. Basketball is a game of runs and it was only a matter of time. The dagger for me was ginobli's 3 and then his dunk. From then on I knew they'd close it out. Amazing team. Perfect basketball.

      I was in the car refreshing my SportsCenter app like crazy. They started losing badly, then somehow they reverse it. It all got stable for the Spurs after Ginobili's dunk, but for me, the dagger was the string of threes Manu and Patty put together.

Cracked skull; broken nose;broken teeth; broken fingers. Left for dead. After almost 2 hours of laying in a puddle of blood I got up again and I'm back alive and kicking ! Great job man. Spurs fan since 1989. I haven't seen this much of last year's heartbreak until this video. It's a bitter reminder that makes their road to redemption and triumph so great and magical. GO SPURS GO!!!!!!!!

    Pure fundamental basketball at its finest. A lost art in shown in the modern game and the Spurs prove its still the way to play to win. Its nice to see even though im part of the new generation.

    Man, this had me damn near in tears. Thank you so much for this. This is a fitting tribute to a truly spectacular team. I've been a Spurs fan since the beginning and this one is the sweetest of all five because this one was won out of extreme adversity.

    Still feels like yesterday. I loved every second of that season and playoff run. The way they lost in 2013 made this so much sweeter. And the best part is I got to watch the entire playoff run with my dad

    Thank you Woody. Great video. As a life long Spurs I can say this series win is pretty sweet. I can still remember paying $5 for Upper Balcony seats back in the old Hemisfare Arena to watch George Gervin, Johnny Moore, Artis Gilmore, Mike Silas, Larry Kenon, Johnny Dawkins, Alvin Robertson & others over the years. To see the evolution and growth of this organization is truly amazing. I identify myself with this team & organization. No drama. No frills. Just be the best-quietly. Thanks again!

I hope all basketball fans and lovers really appreciate what you're seeing with the Spurs. It will be a very long time until you see another team that can play like a 'team' like the Spurs. GO SPURS GO! Let's finally get this repeat

    First of all thank you for making this video, showing the world how the Spurs came for redemption and won 2014 championship. I'll never forget watching Game 6 of 2013 up by 5 with only 30 secs left me and my family were ready to go downtown and then they overtime it and win & then game 7 seeing Duncan miss that easy shot it broke our hearts, but this was the best of redemption you could get being #1 in the regular season, Struggled but defeated Dallas in 7 (it's a Texas rivalry thing), dominating Portland Trail Blazers in 5 games, and defeating OKC in 6 games who defeated the Spurs in 6 games back in 2012 (nice little revenge there too). Finally, dominating the Heat in just 5 GAMES. Spurs could have swept them if Parker & Duncan had not missed their free throw shots, but nevertheless best them ever. Hopefully, a 6th championship in 2015? I don't see why not.

    How can anybody say this team is boring?! BORING?! Are yall serious?! Just look at their very graceful ball movement and well oiled machine execution! Lol. Boring? Really though? Come on, the Spurs offense is the most beautiful thing in the NBA.

    Wow!! Truly a redemptive work for this team after last year devastating loss. As I watch and follow their games from start to the playoffs. With the level of teamwork they played, I believe they can reach back to the finals again. Congratulation San Antonio Spurs! You really deserve this. Looking forward for next season. Still cheering you guys. Keep it up.

    It's really hard not to like the Spurs. They move the ball flowingly and it's just so pleasing to watch team basketball. However, give it to the Heat. They played a great season and made it to the final 4 consecutive years, a great accomplishment indeed. Congratulations to the Spurs and hope the Heat organization continues to compete well.

    Great compilation of highlights to a spectacular season for the NBA Champion Spurs. I was in Miami last year for game 7 and was sick to my stomach amongst Heat fans watching them celebrate, but this year was the sweetest revenge because the Spurs beat them down decisively like MORTAL KOMBAT. FINISHED THEM! LOL
