Likewise. Cannot be stoic forever. Arguably for the first time, Tim Duncan unleased his inner intense competitiveness that Kobe Bryant says similar that he has.
most teams that get done like that which is equivalent to say if your Girl friend is not only cheating on you but making u watch during and then making u watch & listen to a celebration afterwards while shit talking me you. So that’s where we are in the hierarchy of effed up situations! MOST, DAMN NEAR ALL teams that get done like that hardly ever maybe NEVER have the strength skill & mental toughness to come back and not only redeem themselves but they ran the Heat off the court as if the Heat didn’t belong in the same league as the Spurs! That’s real! That’s what i live about my spurs since 1990. That’s when i was 8 & started picking my teams as a kind in middle Tennessee at the time. we had no pro sports so SA Spurs, Buffalo Bills & Atlanta Braves where my teams.
I am a Heat fan and I will say that kids nowadays will never now how HARD it was to beat this San Antonio Spurs team. It took Lebron James, Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, and Ray Allen a 7-game series and by a hairline of margin to beat them in the 2013 Finals. The following year, they eviscerated us in 5 games. lol Kudos to this wonderful organization! That was one heck of a series. I can say for the majority of HeatNation that we almost wet our pants during the final moments of Game 6. That was a gut-wrenching, almost soul-crushing type of game because of the pressure. lol What a time to be alive! Salute #SpursNation!
@chukwunonyeanyakoha8573 only the point 4 comes close. About to go up 3-2 on LA and maybe repeat the previous years title, Fisher hits a shot that changes the rules about what you can do with .4 seconds left, and what you can't do, like catch n shoot which is what he did....
My thoughts exactly. Especially Bosh being so candid about how hard it was to play against the Spurs. Interesting to hear that perspective but also made me value that 2013 team even more.
Watching this brings back the heartbreak of not only the 2013 finals , but seeing KL in a Spurs uniform imagining what might have been. We move on and start again now with Wemby and the next Generation!
Man 2008-2013 was rough. So accustomed to us being in the finals every other year. When we lost in 2013 for a second I thought it was over but man I was wrong. 2014 was such beautiful basketball. & the fact that our toughest team was an 8th seed that season
I can't WAIT for part 2. What impressed me the most about the Spurs in that series was getting their hearts ripped out in game six and STILL coming back and being right there in the end with a chance in game seven. How many teams have lost a heartbreaker and came back flat in the final game?
I thought of that in the moment and was remembering how they fell flat in 2004 after 0.4. They couldn't fight back, so I was proud that they fought for Game 7 in 2013 and that I couldn't say they fell flat again.
I was in The Republic of Georgia 🇬🇪 and it was morning over there...woke up to watch the 4th quarter of game 6...2 Miami heat fans were watching the game as i came in to watch it...i was crushed while they were happy as hell
Was 16 years old watching with my cousin who is an avid Miami Heat fan. That Ray Allen shot silenced us both. He felt more bad for me than excited to win the game that night.
This whole series has been quite an incredible ride. I'm not from the area or even a Spurs fan. Just watched in amazement from afar and very fascinated with the history of the franchise. Great job all around y'all
These history reminds me that the spurs are always the good guys just like in the movies. Could'nt have a scripted a better turning point in nba finals history. 50 years of legacy, championships, fortune, misfortune, injuries that lead to 2 jackpots, 3 generational talents... I mean what are the odds that everything in the nba will go through San Antonio once again. Gotta be rigged for storytelling purposes. Another new chapter in a storied franchise. Many more championships to be played. Alot of the superstars will retire or get old soon in 6 years. And as soon as those faces say goodbye to the game, a new face will emerge. Hopefully 5 more championships in 17 years.. one can imagine. And in so life repeats itself again with a different cast of characters. The storyline nevers truly ends, it begins again.
As a Spurs fan that was one of the worst feelings in 2013. But then it sparked the 2014 season which was probably the most joy I ever got watching NBA basketball. Proof that our failures can be fuel for our future success. Also the only word I have to describe this video is excellent. Great job on this!
Loss in '13 doesn't hurt me that much any more because I feel, in my heart, this is what fed us and gave us "the beautiful game" spurs of '14. Would much rather have that to think back on - absolutely perfect basketball from our Spurs.
And I'm so happy there's no hard feelings between you all you guys beat each other one on one and that was some beautiful championship s***on both sides
This loss still hurts me and I’m not even a spurs fan😂 Watching this makes it even worse That terrifying game 6 loss, then Tim Duncan missing that point blank layup over battier I can’t believe this team ever mentally came back from this.
My wife and I were on a cruise out of Florida on our honeymoon during this series, and watching game 6 live on the big screen and hearing all the Heat fans cheer at Ray Allen's shot was one of the most painful and emotional things I've ever experienced. I grew up in San Antonio and I felt the hurt for the whole Spurs organization AND city of San Antonio. They had that series! But so glad they wrecked the Heat the following year for redemption.
While everyone else’s most painful game was Game 6, it was Game 7 for me, just like Timmy. I didn’t watch Game 6 (I was driving). But I felt every gut wrenching moment of Game 7.
Will never forget the end of game 6. I was standing up and thinking 'The good guys are gonna win!'. 2014 was sweet but 2013 still leaves a hole which for me 2014 couldn't fill as great as it was.
I’ll never forget it. I remember when we were up 5, I thought, “we’re gonna win, the Heat are too desperate now”. Then the missed free throws came, heart started to pound faster, then the Allen 3, swish, and the excitement was sucked out of me. When they lost in OT, I was in shock, like I saw a loved one get shot down in the street for no reason at all. It haunts me to this day, and I still believe the 2013 Spurs were better than the 2014 team, but that’s just my opinion. It was great to get them back the next year though.
They *were* desperate. Lebron in particular was jacking up some desperation shots at the end. He's incredibly lucky that one of his bricks missed so badly that it ricocheted out to where Bosh was, who then tipped it to Allen.
That "BANG" is one of the most iconic NBA moments of all time there's no doubt about that and its probably a favorite moment for a lot of people. However, as a Spurs fan, till this day it makes my heart plummet. Sports can be cruel sometimes like that I guess.
A hard one to watch but well done (as usual with this series). I do wish more time could have been spent on celebrating the 2013 run, in particular, the GS and Memphis series both had some great moments which are hard to find online (with the exception of Game 1 against GS).
One of the best little details from the 2014 run is that, at the beggining of the first round against Dallas, someone wrote a number in the corner of one of the whiteboards in the locker room. It only said "16". That number changed during that playoffs run. By the time they reached the Finals, that number was 4.
You can see when Timmy smacked his hands on the floor in game 6 when Miami won that he thought it was over and I thought it was over and thought he would never win another championship but they came back shout out to Miami and the Spurs
For 10 years I never rewatched any part of this game and I am not going to do it now. As soon as something related to this game show up on tv, I turn the TV off or switch channels.
That missed FT by Manu towards the end of Game 5 plus the rally by the Heat to send Game 5 into OT, definitely was the turning point of the series. So close to wining the Championship in "13, but eluded the Spurs. Thankfully....a year later, the Spurs redeemed themselves to win the Larry O'Brien Trophy in "14. Go Spurs, Go! 🏀🏀🏀
26:58 is still one of the worst no-calls in NBA history. Clearly a foul and everyone, even Heat fans, knows it. If that foul gets called Ginobili goes to the line for two shots to win the championship in overtime.
0:41 "It was the worst loss in my NBA career." No, it was the worst/most painful loss in NBA history. Can anyone name a more heartbreaking loss in the entire history of the league? No team has ever been that close to an NBA title without winning it.
Yes I can, the 1969 finals with the Lakers and Celtics, it was game 7 and it was in Los Angeles, the Lakers was so sure they were going to win the game, even before the game ended Champagne was already put in the Lakers locker room to celebrate, the game went all the way to the final seconds, the Lakers had a one point lead with seconds left and Boston had the ball out of bound, the ball was passed into Don Nelson near the top of the key he squared up and took the shot while the ball was bouncing around the rim the clock had expired and the ball fell through the hoop, a devastating loss, the Celtics immediately ran to their locker room celebrating, it hurt so bad you could see some Laker fans crying, and when they interviewed Jerry west the next day his eyes were blood shot red from crying.
My wife is a Hest and Lebron fan. She actually "comforted" me after thosnseries. Inwas so gutted to be mocked. Somwtimws i wonder how it slipped away.....😢
Man that 2013 Finals hurt. But redemption in '14 was AMAZING! I just cant stop thinking about how many championships the Spurs missed out on by crazy fluke plays.
This was the year I really wanted them to win. Mainly because people made fun of me at school for being a Spurs fan, probably cause I wasn’t a bandwagon KD or LeBron fan, and I was gonna get the sweetest vindication if they won. The minute they lose, I got made fun of again and again for it. Summer sucked for me. But, I *did* get that vindication as did the Spurs the following year.
I was at the Microsoft Tech-Ed conference in New Orleans watching game 6. Manu was playing SO bad that I thought "Is Manu was throwing the game? Did they kidnap a family member in Argentina and threatened him to throw the game or else?" LOL That's how bad of a game he played. I had never seen him play like that. It was so strange and unbelievable.
Honestly, considering how the following season went, I wouldn't change a thing. However: After Allen's shot, the Spurs had no time-outs left. Miami couldn't call one since they were on defense. The thing for the Spurs to do is get the ball inbounded as fast as possible to prevent Miami from setting their defense. Well, the officials just so happened to decide in that very critical moment to stop play and review to see if Allen's foot was on the line. THAT pissed me off more than anything else. Miami had an incredible defense and the officials decided to help it out.
Damn Pop taking Duncan out, then after Lebrons headband got knocked off he went nuts, Kawhi and Manu missed FT, Duncan missed a bunny shot. Smh what a nightmare

So cathartic. Somehow, "healing factor" activates upon seeing/reviewing this painful feature. Regardless how burdensome mentally and emotionally, see Episodes 45-46. Episode 47 shall be sweet, guaranteed. ________________________ (from "Champions Revealed") "...I am always been a believer that players react better to the truth than blowing smoke at him, or trying to manipulate him, or tell him 'something so little do this or that.' But if you tell him the truth, then you really go after it, that assumes one thing to the people whom telling the truth to have the kind of character like you guys have so you can deal with it. And not blame other people, or feel sorry for yourself, or get angry...but face it and then know 'What are the steps I gonna take now to take care what I'm looking at right there, and don't like, and what we can do better.'" -- Gregg Charles Popovich ________________________ P.S. The remaining sting that maybe lingering forever is for TMac. It would be a nice, fairy tale ending his sole time to advance from the 1st Round went all the way to the Title. Also interesting is there's no Pop perspective. Perhaps this is one thing he'd rather not to be reflective about.
That Tim Duncan moment when he hits the floor. Hurts me the most to this day. I never saw Timmy that angry and disappointed!
Likewise.
Cannot be stoic forever.
Arguably for the first time, Tim Duncan unleased his inner intense competitiveness that Kobe Bryant says similar that he has.
The most heartbreaking part of being a Spurs fan but love how they redeemed themselves.

That feeling of just ELATION to just absolutely crushed…All us Spurs fans still can feel it
As a heat fan when the spurs won the wcf in 2014 and Duncan said we'll do it this time I was like shit lol like I knew it was over in 2014
I am a Heat fan and I will say that kids nowadays will never now how HARD it was to beat this San Antonio Spurs team. Watching Tim slap the floor breaks my heart every time
That hurts as a Spurs fan! It hurts. Never seen Tim react that way!!! It still hurts!! That series was ours to take!!!!
I thought I was the only one. When he slapped it, he knew they lost. He knew it.
Spurs fans all remember where they were the moment that shot went in. Heartbreaking to say the least but that’s what makes 2014 so special 🖤
I've never cried like that before.
I was in Nola around heat fans
Do a part 2
Sports bar in SF and it felt like the first time a girl broke up with me
To this day I hate when I hear mike Breen says “BANG!” during a game… it takes me back to that shot everytime
Genuinely gonna be one of the hardest videos I’ve ever watched 💀
I gotta say - seeing Spo's and the Heat players' point of view about this finals was cathartic for me as a Spurs fan.
My thoughts exactly. Especially Bosh being so candid about how hard it was to play against the Spurs. Interesting to hear that perspective but also made me value that 2013 team even more.

Oh man, it hurts.
But at the same time it's part of what makes 2014 the best Spurs title.

That's the thing that I think a lot of people forget. From a back and forth standpoint, this is the best finals series in the last decade
I thought of that in the moment and was remembering how they fell flat in 2004 after 0.4. They couldn't fight back, so I was proud that they fought for Game 7 in 2013 and that I couldn't say they fell flat again.
Workin on it rn gotchu
The mental strength of thT Spurs team is underrated
That was a tough series to watch, shit still breaks my heart 😢
My heart hurts before I watch this episode
As a lifetime Spurs fan, the game against the Miami Heat was heartbreaking.
In addition, ESPN need to make a "30 for 30" story on the Spurs.
We agreed to never talk about 13
Darn it Spurs, just earlier today I was feeling great because I was rewatching Game 5 of the 2014 Finals but then you released this 😭
I was in The Republic of Georgia 🇬🇪 and it was morning over there...woke up to watch the 4th quarter of game 6...2 Miami heat fans were watching the game as i came in to watch it...i was crushed while they were happy as hell
probably the best finals storyline in the history of the nba. 2 amazing series with 2 of the best teams ever put together
Gonna have to rewatch “The Beautiful Game” for the millionth time after this lol
Great job all around y'all
😢 this pain will forever b a lesson to Spurs..stay tuned part 2 has a terrific ending!
I'll never forget this series and I knew they would be back! And they didn't disappoint

Got chills and cried a little with that Ray Allen shot. It is crazy how invested we get as fans.
this is gonna hurt...
ok, lets go.
One whiskey shot at a time.
The episode is going to hurt to watch but here we go
Fuel for the fire
This was fantastic btw
I can't wait for Part 2!! Coach Pop used shared trauma to prepare thr guys!!
10 years later and it still hurts that I was dreading to start watching this.
Loss in '13 doesn't hurt me that much any more because I feel, in my heart, this is what fed us and gave us "the beautiful game" spurs of '14. Would much rather have that to think back on - absolutely perfect basketball from our Spurs.
Every chip after 1999 was a revenge chip. And I think that fits us very well.
And I'm so happy there's no hard feelings between you all you guys beat each other one on one and that was some beautiful championship s***on both sides
Why do I do this to myself... Just cried again on the "BANG" sound.
Love it tho. What a docuseries. Congrats on everyone involved
Absolutely incredible series. Go Spurs Go!
This loss still hurts me and I’m not even a spurs fan😂
Watching this makes it even worse
That terrifying game 6 loss, then Tim Duncan missing that point blank layup over battier
I can’t believe this team ever mentally came back from this.
Thanks do this videos ! Feel more near to the organization !! GO SPURS GO GO SPURS GO . URUGUAY BIGGEST SPURS FANS

Toughest one of these videos to watch, but truly makes me appreciate the ‘14 Championship so so much more. #PorVida
Chris Bosh is a great storyteller

I was working a night shift listening to this on the radio and man I was so upset, but 2014 was again the last good year!

This loss really broke my heart.
Game 6 and 7 still hurts today in 2023 especially how well Manu played in Game 5
For 10 years I never rewatched any part of this game and I am not going to do it now. As soon as something related to this game show up on tv, I turn the TV off or switch channels.
Can’t wait for part 2
so sorry for gary neal, he deserve that 2013 chip.
And Manu ginobili the game wasn't lost because of it was lost because pop took Timmy out when he should have been there to clean up the glass
For years i refused to watch a single replay of that shot since the day it happened 10 years ago. Ngl this was a tough watch😂 but its still GSG!
this was a painful watch but I can't imagine what our boys felt. regardless, GSG!
Can't wait for "The Beautiful Game" doc

Go Spurs, Go! 🏀🏀🏀
Ten years ago and this still stings.
I have been scared to watch this. Now I have to do it....knowing that the Spurs travelled the road to redemption
Man, this is hard to watch. 2013 hurt.. but then.. 2014!
Are we getting that 2014 video on here? Can't wait.
I can never watch ray allen sink that 3, I always turn away. 10yrs later and it still hurts
The wound is still scabbed and it hurts to pull on it!
26:58 is still one of the worst no-calls in NBA history. Clearly a foul and everyone, even Heat fans, knows it. If that foul gets called Ginobili goes to the line for two shots to win the championship in overtime.

Wish Tim had been in the game
I knew this episode was going to come at some point. Pain…but it led to one of the greatest single season runs in NBA History
It makes me sad to watch😢
LETS GO SPURS 🖤🤍
My wife is a Hest and Lebron fan. She actually "comforted" me after thosnseries. Inwas so gutted to be mocked. Somwtimws i wonder how it slipped away.....😢
ah.. reliving the most devastated Finals' lost ever. Good thing we got the 2014.
Man that 2013 Finals hurt. But redemption in '14 was AMAZING! I just cant stop thinking about how many championships the Spurs missed out on by crazy fluke plays.
#2 anikin skywalker . You were the chosen one!! You were the chosen one!! #1 wemby is the new hope.
We could've had six...
Man, Tony Parker's game winner in Game 1 was so good.
I wanted Tmac to get a chip so bad. That 13 loss still bothers me to this day
Essa vai ser pesada
This was the year I really wanted them to win. The minute they lose, I got made fun of again and again for it. Summer sucked for me. But, I *did* get that vindication as did the Spurs the following year.
Bad decision by pop.. benching the defensive anchor in a defensive last play
19:20, if that was today, Bosh would’ve received a technical foul for a reckless close out.
Honestly, considering how the following season went, I wouldn't change a thing. However:

felt sad for tmac man
Why was tony guarding 2 people in 6 or 8 seconds
Great episode and a horrible reminder lol.
Damn Pop taking Duncan out, then after Lebrons headband got knocked off he went nuts, Kawhi and Manu missed FT, Duncan missed a bunny shot. Smh what a nightmare
most teams that get done like that which is equivalent to say if your Girl friend is not only cheating on you but making u watch during and then making u watch & listen to a celebration afterwards while shit talking me you. That’s when i was 8 & started picking my teams as a kind in middle Tennessee at the time. we had no pro sports so SA Spurs, Buffalo Bills & Atlanta Braves where my teams.
this still hurts to this day, but if we had won in 2013, would 2014 have felt as good?
If 2014 was the first repeat? It would've been incredible.
Well, this video is like going to the psychiatrist. It still hurts. Greetings from a Spurs fan from Peru.
TP MANU & TIMMY BEST BIG 3 OF ALL TIME NON-DEBATABLE GSG🖤🚀
"kawhi leonard could not be reached for comment for this episdode (even though he was on the phone with us lol) "
Dónde lo puedo conseguir con subtítulos?? 🙏
We deserved to be 2013 Champions. That shot is why I hate the Heat Till this day
I came to the comments first. Should I watch it? I don’t know if my heart can take it. I don’t think I want to re live it. 😢
The one that got away
🎉🎉🎉🎉🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I saw LeBron miss the three, turned around to celebrate, looked back at the TV and Ray let the 3 fly.... PTSD
So cathartic.
Somehow, "healing factor" activates upon seeing/reviewing this painful feature.
Regardless how burdensome mentally and emotionally, see Episodes 45-46.
Episode 47 shall be sweet, guaranteed.

"...I am always been a believer that players react better to the truth than blowing smoke at him, or trying to manipulate him, or tell him 'something so little do this or that.'
But if you tell him the truth, then you really go after it, that assumes one thing to the people whom telling the truth to have the kind of character like you guys have so you can deal with it.
And not blame other people, or feel sorry for yourself, or get angry...but face it and then know 'What are the steps I gonna take now to take care what I'm looking at right there, and don't like, and what we can do better.'"

P.S.
Why am I putting myself through this on purpose?
