Hearing you talk about the ball pegs in the head and the joint pins makes me want a technical breakdown of action figure mechanics from you. Where you would take them apart, compare and contrast various joint/hinge/articulation designs, and explain all that. Not that I'd want to add to your workload but damn that would be so interesting to me.
This is, so far, the definitive Deadpool fig to me. And DP is drawn differently in different comics so he can be fudged in to a comic display as well if that suits someone's fancy, IMO. No pun intended...😁
Some people pose their figures in action not just in vanilla so the pins will definitely show especially if you’re taking photos you want it to look as seamless as possible. Which is also one of the reasons why cloth on figures are liked because it looks even more seamless when you articulate them even though it could be more hindered. Hasbro figures mostly aren’t made with maxim range anyway so it’s about the same regarding that.
@@lotograves it’s called evolving. I know people don’t like change but it’s inevitable. A lot of people have been wanting pinless/seamless figures for a long time obviously or the toy companies wouldn’t have made the change.
I mean to be fair, all the action poses at the end have the pins sticking out like a sore thumb. Pinless is definitely better, they just need to do a better job paying attention to the details like matching colors
I think pinless joints became such a "thing" because Legends diehards (who refuse to save money on 2 or 3 Hasbro figures to opt for the import version) equate pinless to import quality, ignoring the fact that import elbows and knees have completely different engineering.
I personally don't care much for pinless, because I'm a customizer. And being able to swap some of these figures at the forearms and the knees actually helped out with some of the proportion issues that these Marvel Legends figures tend to have
for customized functionally, sure. but for the regular collector they just stick out like a sore thumb, especially if the pins don’t match the rest of the figure. i actually import basically all of my figures and the only legends i have us the amazing fantasy spider-man. pinless, sculpted beautifully and tons of range of motion
Pins don’t really matter. For this figure there’s texturing on the suit that makes the pins not match, but it’s such a busy design that it’s fine. Nobody gripes to Mcfarlane about their pins. For this figure I have the original and I’m not picking it up since it’s a repaint, but I’m glad Hasbro is giving people a chance at it again (again again with the burned repaint)
I have the first release and I can honestly say this is a must have for all collectors the figure is so fun to pose around and they give you so many options to work with
Hey Anthony, great honest review as always. If it's alright, can you explain why pinless joints would wear out faster than pinned joints? Though pinned or pinless does not really bother me that much, I would still personally prefer pinless because it is aesthetically pleasing (especially if the figure has multi colored limbs like Spider-man), and makes the joints more firm especially on the knee area. In my observation of my pinless figures, they don't tend to become bow legged compared to pinned figures especially female figures. Thanks!
I'll do a video on it eventually. The reason the pinned figures get wobbly is have uses flexible pvc. It either needs to be hard pvc or color matched hard plastic... Preferably nylon or pom
At first I didn't care much about pin or no pin, but I realized most old Marvel Legends with pins are likely to have their limbs warped straight from the package, but the pinless joints are less likely to warp and more secured than pinned joints.
My experience so far has been my pinned ML figures sag in the knees and the ones without the pins seem to be straighter. Mixed bag with some pinless joints being too loose but have been able to fix that.
I think this is probably one of hasbros best sculpts in the past few years, I know its pretty much a single release of the one that came in the 2-pack but its still great and honestly better than what hasbro has been releasing as of recent.
Yo! I got mine from BBTS on Thursday! I was so excited to finally have a movie Deadpool to add to my Legends collection! I had him on pre-order since April 19th. And this past Thursday is when I received him in the mail! Enjoy yours man!
In my experience ive found the pin joints to wear out faster than the pinless so idk. Literally as ive been playing with this deadpool the knees got loose before the elbows
I don't like abominations like Cable or Forge, in the case of Forge one leg is pinless, the other isn't, in the case of Cable one arm is pinless, the other isn't, that's the big nonsense, and on females, they need to be pinless all the time, that's just a thing of stability. In this Deadpool, I don't care, there is a good balance of everything.
I get the general consensus about pinless joints. I just don't agree. I rather have the exposed pins so it'll be easier to customize. Plus, pin joints been better than pinless joints,v and are easier to troubleshoot.
I already own the previous Deadpool release with Negasonic Teenage Warhead, and I love it even to this day. Also, IDC if an action figure has pins or not, even if sometimes it can be distracting like on Spider-Man. Also my friend and I are planning to see Deadpool and Wolverine.
Yeah, I like the original enough that I picked this one up too. The pins kinda suck but don't stand out to badly. AND this time the pistols aren't glued in! Anthony could you pick up a Classified Quick Kick and shit all over it please.
The neck drives me crazy on this mold. The square in the middle of the neck is supposed to go on the back to cover the zipper of the suit. Why haven’t they fixed it still?
I've had some pinless figures for years now and the discoloration seems to be an issue unique to Marvel legends. Idk what "both done correctly means but, my Joes are showing no signs of ware, same across board for the other brands in my collection. I don't see a benefit to reverting. Especially as the pinless tech gets better over time.
I don't mind pins so long as they're non-intrusive. The pins on the MVC2 Cable bother me enough because Hasbro couldn't be bothered to go all the way. The pins on Darwin are too big and hollow, while the pins on the Diamond Select Cap are small and flushed. You may be right that they're hardly noticeable looking from the front, but in many displays/photos, poses take on different angles. It's kind of like the double ball peg vs disk hinge for the neck POA argument. One is superior (pinless), but it's just that companies can't be bothered to implement them correctly, so the alternative looks more appealing.
I completely agree this is one of Hasbro's best ML figures ever. I was happy to have this as my sole movie Deadpool figure for awhile before Figuarts offered their updated version. I'm sure they will release an updated version down the road that matches his look in DandW, and when they do I would be more than happy if they kept most of the build from this figure as the template.
I'm with you on pinless joints, they all wear down so easily. Even single joints. However I think they're necessary for some parts, like the shoulders specially.
import figures never have pinned joints since when i first started collecting. so do those joints wear out easier or are they designed differently so they don't have this issue? if they don't have this kind of issue, why don't hasbro do those kinds of designs?
In my experience pinned joints vs pinless only bugs me if the pins aren’t painted on a character with two tone arms/legs where the color is different on each side of the limb.
QotD: the movie is aiming to pivot both the universe away and audience expectations. The whole “I am Marvel Jesus” line plays for both the movie’s adventure and the fact that Disney needs Ryan and Hugh to pull off a “clean up in aisle (phase) five”
Cautiously optimistic about the new movie. They're really showing a lot of the action scenes, so I hope the humor and surprises in the movie are what blows us away.
Aesthetically I don’t really care if my marvel legends are pinless or not (I would mind the pins more on high end figures), but the reason I prefer the pinless joints is because the legs don’t get warped so easily now. It sucks that most of the my MCU figures have warped legs now☹️ I do think they have to solve the discoloration issue on the elbows and knees though, like, it’s such a basic thing on a figure. Oh and yeah, the original Deadpool did have pinless arms, it was one of the first figures in the line to get that “new technology”
Deadpool 3 is a dream movie besides Spidey/Deadpool. The original was half pin less too. This is one of my fave ML's of all time. I own 3 of the original, the Amazon version and got this in box for now.
I was interested in the movie til I read the leaks. It’s the same as everything else these days- film starts with the hero now being a loser, with DP being a used car salesman and failing in life. Vanessa has left him, and is dating someone else. Etc etc.
I missed out on the previous release so I got this one last week, I was actually disappointed with it, the arms being to tight, and that the elbow bend was way too long so it doesn't really bend in the right places just threw out the fun factor, it looks great but not fun to handle and doesn't look right when posed so yeah Im kinda sorry I picked this over the wolverine that was hanging right next to it
i feel like the pinless joints as done in the movie figres now are more sturdy, every pinned joint i have are gummy and not that durable while the only pinless one i have is incredibly solid and i don't know why
I got this figure and had some of the worst. QC I think I’ve ever had on a marvel legends figure. My eyes were printed on wrong, so they constantly looked to the left, which was a mild annoyance, but the back of my head was molded wrong. I’m hoping I can snag another one, but given how popular Deadpool is, I think it’s gonna be sadly unlikely.
Yea. Guess you can mod the neck by drilling a slit on the back to allow for more movement. Hasbro still can’t figure out neck articulation (or proper usage butterfly joints)
I’ve been wanting a Deadpool. This actually might get me to finally do it. Also I need a figure that can strike literally any pose and for it to still be in character.
8 out of 10 accessories. Would've been nice to see a new head since this is a re-release. Either a different expression (angry, happy) or an unmasked head (probably a licensing issue).
I have plenty of pinless figures with great articulation. The look is certainly better. Especially for us toy photographers. Never had a figure ruined by pinless joints. It’s my preference
Neither joints bother me, i think there is an action figure charm to pins but thigh swivel is a bit of an eyesore, it doesn't need to be on every figure. Edit: spelling errors.
I like pin less joints definitely looks better. however the way Hasbro does it is absolutely ass because they don't want to spent the money and engineering to actually make it work.
One of hasbros best marvel legends. It especially hits more as a single release. My only real gripe with it is how much the paint chips off the swords from being in the sheaths
It's so strange that the ML team nailed this but flounder on so much other stuff. Does the MCU have a different team working on those figures? I'd rather they engineer the pinless joints in a way similar to mafex or figuarts. But for that reason I just buy those figures instead and cherry pick hasbro figures whenever they put out something kind of passable for the price.
As far as joints, don't care. If they can make better figures with accessories like this one and it has pins because it was "cheaper" to produce, I say go pins.
I only ever think about pins if somebody mentions it isreally not on my mind! bad QC and paint apps are way ahead in in the worry box oh and price but its been a while since i paid full price just complelted 3 BAF waves recently with most fig less tham half price.

He just complains. Idk why he said pinless will go loose before the pinned. 100% of my figures with loose jointed are pinned. I have zero figures with loose joints that have pinless. Idk what he’s goin on about
The pins have nothing to do with the "gummy" joints. That comes down to the plastic used for the joint. Pinless joints (the way hasbro does them) wear out because they are insert molded. That's no force from the sides. The only thing retaining the joint is notches on the edge of the disc which is hard plastic. When that hard plastic wears away the softer pvc, the joint is useless. That's also why the joints are usually stuck initially. With pinned joints, you can make the notches as small as you want and apply force from the sides. Maybe instead of saying I'm just complaining because you don't know something, consider that I do know someone. I've disassemble and worked on hundreds of figures, reviewed thousands, and designed my own line. I have first hand knowledge about how various joints work and which plastics are best for different applications. Can you tell me the benefits of nylon over pom? Or the best type of nylon to use for joints? Do you know the difference between nylon 6 and nylon 66? Which would be better for joints?
@@AnthonysCustoms did the guns come Attached to his holster out of the box ? Damn target scammed me for my guns 😅 and it was the only dead pool on the shelf. Wondering if somebody bought it and took the guns and returned the figure back lol
@@AnthonysCustoms yeah I think so too because I carefully inspect other dead pool boxes online and yup there the holsters lol. This ain’t the first time I got swindled at target smh 🤦♂️
If the pins were painted it wouldn't bother me. When we get a spiderman and there's a big red peg on the blue it's annoying.
Yeah painting the pins where appropriate is important.
I have the same complaint about pinned joints .

The head looks really small
For me, I like them pinless cuz it doesn’t give that rubbery leg
Is this the same figure from the 2 pack with Teenage Warhead?
Watch the review
I think the red is more prominent on this version and gloves don’t have the silver paint from the 2 pack version
his arms were pinless in the 2 pack i have him right here
He had pinnless arms before I believe
Why are pins better than Pinless? I'm new to collecting and I thought Pinless was better.
They both have benefits. I wouldn't let either one be a determining factor if i was you
I just bought the last preorder on BBTS 🤦🏽♂️🎈
Yo I got mine at target but it didn’t come
With guns ? Did I get ripped off lol 😅
it was in the same packaging i showed in the review?
@@AnthonysCustoms did the guns come
Attached to his holster out of the box ? Damn target scammed me for my guns 😅 and it was the only dead pool on the shelf. Wondering if somebody bought it and took the guns and returned the figure back lol
They come in the holsters i think
@@AnthonysCustoms yeah I think so too because I carefully inspect other dead pool boxes online and yup there the holsters lol. This ain’t the first time I got swindled at target smh 🤦♂️
The bare cardboard showing through the window on the side makes it look sloppy. Nearly bootlegged.
He’s absolutely correct: Hasbro does suck 💯
Hahahaha negasonic teenage blowpop!! That's frigging hilarious!!
Hasbro got covered those who like pins and those who dislike them.
Action figure collectors when an action figure has pins 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯
Pre-order him , hopeefully i get him soon :)
I've only seen Marvel Legend fans cry about pinned joints.
