Robin, I’ve seen where another AFOL added a 1x2 dark blue tile between the words “JAZZ” and “CLUB” so it doesn’t run together. It looked great. I did read that you had added a “sheet music” 2x2 tile on the 4 open studs in front … perfect! Love that you made a 3D sign! Very fitting for your city!
You're inspiring me to do the same to my building. The only thing I prefer on the yellow over the neon color is the available longer curve pieces which give a better angled view for the sax. It's just a little sad it didn't go officially and they released it with only one side of printed tiles.
I love the fact it's credited the original set designer. Kudos to them. Kudos to Robin Hood Bricks for promoting it. Colour wise, I want my version to have a saxophone that has orange and yellow to match the original display. Thanks for the videos . Not all heroes wear capes!
Maybe something incorporated to mount some birds in flight so it looks like they are flying out of the instrument. It could be a fun way to tie it in with the magic show stuff in the upper area.
Just when you think there's nothing else left to do to improve this mod...Robin springs up again. Omg you are a genius. It's been a while since I checked out your merch but I seriously think you need to add the 'more is more' logo to your repertoire 😅. Wonderful wonderful build. Bravo!!!!
amazing amazing utterly amazing, also i was watching the video were you build the airport (pt1) in the old town at the market with super mario wouldnt the grass be worn away because people walking overit every day
Hey Robin, great modification! I have to do that as well. Just when I saw your club one modification that I can recommend you that I did as well is adding some stacked black round bricks in the middle section of the Glasshouse. Can be attached with just moving the 1x4 and adding a 1x1 on front and back. As an alternative I have as well stacked lot‘s of black 1x1 round plates which is also a nice look.
That’s a great upgrade to the sign! May I suggest sticking a 2x2 sheet music tile on those 4 unused studs on the front? Plenty of choices. Oh, and the bit that the noise comes out of a saxophone from is called the Bell, not the horn 😉
I'm looking at my jazz club now and I'm thinking I really need to do this. Personally i would now remove the minifig scale saxophones as the neon signs is just fantastic
I like to imagine that the keys are lights that alternate in a falling chasing pattern with the dark areas in between so it looks like the instrument is being played. It looks amazing with the sign upgrade.
Wow Great build, yes the original design should have kept it. You made the best of both so now have one great sign. When I get this set I might have to add a sign as it looks great. I always think you have to add to a Lego modular to make it the very best. JJ Field
Excellent sign. I'll need to see if it can be done in gold. And, even more so, if the non-circular version can be done in gold. Not that I have the jazz club yet but it would be a reason to get it! Thanks for the excellent work.
@@RobinHoodBricks Shame. Part/colour combinations are a real pain sometimes. You can see it in official sets too, occasionally where, for example, 2 2x2s are used where a 1x4 would make more sense. So we aren't the only constrained builders.
@@RobinHoodBricks Thank you for keeping my spirits up! If you have room, maybe you should get a ferry. Though, I don't know much about Nottingham or Brick Nottingham. So, it might not be needed.
Great to see you back today, Robin! I really do hope that Lego puts out the 3x3 macaroni tile piece in that neon yellow color, as that skewed angle for the horn on the original really looked great. Might you consider doing that version in plain yellow too, so we could see the real life comparison? No worries if not. I would also like to advocate for making the “star” details all the same color, as the different colors right now look a bit busy.
The nonexistent 3x3 tiles are already on my wanted list for if they do appear one day. I nearly bought yellow tiles too but it seemed wasteful so I made a choice. Not trying out neon yellow for normal yellow couldn't really happen!
The sign Looks great and I LOVE the Saxophone! It would be great to see a 3D sign with it in the city😊! Would it be possible to Remove the bricks inbetween the lower parts of the sign? Then the "Jazzclub" sign could move down (and the Minifigures could read it). Thank you for another wonderfull Video and really looking forward to the next one😊!
Well the horn bit of the saxophone would obscure the writing then. These signs are massive in real life as they contained all the old skool electronics inside too!
Oh wow Robin, this is perfect! I'm going to be definitely ordering those parts for the sign. It looks way better than just the printed tiles. Would you know the part number for the duplo pizza as well? Fantastic video my friend. You definitely should work for Lego designing buildings for us city enthusiasts.
Fantastic as always! If you're looking for more suggestions, I'd offer that the little saxophones would look fantastic flanking the signs with words on them. It would probably take some doing to redesign those areas to fit them, but the instruments on either side of the headlines seems much more realistic than positioned above them. Thank you for wonderful entertainment!
My mother and I didn't want hers to look like everyone else's so we changed the blue front to sand green. 1x1x5's in sand green r expensive here in the U.S. tho
Two good choices. But one tip is to get the oldest modular available while it is still a reasonable price. They are a lot harder to get once discontinued. If you're going to want them later!
The Trolls sets introduced treble clef and 8th note pieces which I think might be good to put where the stars are or maybe just elsewhere on the sign. I'm not sure how they attach, but you could probably figure out how to make it work. Also I feel like those four studs on the bottom front are begging to have something attached.
I've added a 2x2 sheet music tile there now. I also tried the clefs I had left over from the vinyl store but I wasn't a fan. Also they're hard to find and I wanted a reasonable parts list!
You may have already have already resolved this in the 6 months or so since this video. The sign looks awesome, but with how big and imposing it is now the building really feels like its needs another floor slotted in between the 2nd story and 3rd story.
😮 wow wow wow it looks great it pops so much did you say you talked to the guy that made this set or was it a interview vid that was posted of some one interviewing the designer about the moduler I like to cee that if so the neon sign came up great Robin 😊👌

Just now noticing, but why? Why would you put a duplo pizza on the pizza shop? I mean, not that it doesn’t do the job, it certainly does, but why the duplo pizza and not a brick built pizza? Then again, it does look good, so could be worse. One thing though, try going to the Pizzeria in Lego Island 2 for GBA, I think you will find the ABSOLUTELY GIANT pizza mosaic in the floor to your liking, and if I had room I would certainly be using it myself. But anyways, good job upgrading the Jazz Club signage. Looks great! Now if we could just find a way to increase the floor size. Thanks very much. I think that includes a couple of "Shorts" that I don't really count, but it's still a big milestone!
I think I would have liked the standard yellow over the neon yellow. Just me
But super improvement for sure
I had to order one version or the other but you might be right!
It's typical Robin Hood bricks, well done I love it.
Yes, maybe in yellow would be better, but I love it!
I have an old jazz club MOC called Heat built in an old police station in my tiny city but I parked the blues mobile outside which suits it very well.
Nice. Although the name Heat just makes me think of Robert De Niro!
Can't beat a bit of sax in the afternoon 😂
Very true!
Best use of the new highlighter yellow colour I’ve seen so far!!
It is a bit garish isn't it!

Wowza. Thanks so much. Very kind!
One thing that you could add is a reference to Clarence Clemons, the sax player in the E street band (Bruce Springsteen’s band)
