I love my cee'd and my husband is now replacing his golf for the pro cee'd version just because it has impressed us both so much. We've driven a variety of hatchbacks small and large including the focus, golf, astra, corsa, fiesta, yaris, i30 and polo - this one runs circles around them combined. I'm typically filling the tank for around £65 and getting between 650-700 miles from that. I cannot fault this car.
New Kia Cee'd is amazing car. I own old model and I never had a single issue with it. I know we all suffer from that badge in the front but with new Kia Cee'd you have amazing warranty, good quality and it looks better than VW Golf
I rented one last week and I must say I was really impressed with the mileage - I travelled 740 miles on a round trip and found it very cheap in terms of fuel and was nice in comfort. Surprising really, because I'm a guy who normally hires Mercedes E class cars - just this time the rental company had none available. I think when things pick up for me financially I may buy one.
I sat in a new Kia Ceed 2012 recently, and I must say I am impressed of the feel of quality in the interior, I dare say it is up there with the Golf, and the design is very nice on the inside and outside. Nice price on the options too, this car and brand equals and exeed others in this segment. When the question "what car do you have" comes, many, especially younger, would like to answer Audi, VW, brands that have prestige to its name, but this car is up there with them, and a 7 year warranty..
I brought a new one. But have to wait 9 days until car dealer deliver it to me :). I am excited, and on an adrenaline rush for at least a month. I tested it in a dealer, and i confirm this review. Handling is easy. Electronic pedals make driving very very easy. I never had my own car before, but this one handled so well, i did not make one mistake during testing drive. In every other car, even older kia ceed type, i either used too much acceleration, or too little. So you would not have problem to push the acceleration accuratelly with no experience. Gearing in citroen c4 was unprecise, in ceed it is quite precise. Compared to c4 test drive, it is far far easier to handle. The only thing i think c4 outperforms this car is, c4 looks a more classy inside. Hydraulics makes shitty road a comfortable experience. Audio is i think standard. Kia looks better than c4 from outside. Kia ceed also looks very good with 15 inch wheels.
I found this a brilliant review of the 2013 Cee'd. Everything about this car is spot on, especially on the CRDI 3 models with media/ satnav. Great car!
People had to go over badge stuff today, this car is so good as german vw or Ford Fiesta. You only need to care about badge is when you buy a premium car... VW badge is not premium, eve if its german and good...
Patrick Barks i recently read an articel VW are the most rubbish cars you can get from europe, they are desigend to brake after warranty expires, vw sells in large fleet to make profit when the cars brake they replace them, thats profit for theyr pockets, but they are not customers cars
I'm the last person to defend vw, but that's just a rubbish statement... There are so many old vw's driving around everywhere. You won't see me drive one though. I don't want to be associated with the likes driving those.
Have you considered that the car has no mayor downsides? Good engine, good interior, nice looking, comfy... and not that expensive. What more could you want?
Nice review. Thank you! Even i am from Germany i always enjoy your car reviews! :-) Good job! And yes, the new Ceed is a really nice car! I even think its better than the i30... Korean car makers are making big progress! Lets see where this will end!
I bought this exact car today and love it. Huge inside and stylish on the outside. Economy is stunning too. One thing I will say about cars been fun to drive is that 100% encourages dangerous driving. I really like the fact this Kia is more about practicality. It's a fact that performance cars encourage faster acceleration, faster speeds on motorways, and higher risk moves like overtaking on single lane roads. The more fun to drive a car is the greater likelihood this will happen. I don't want a fun car, I want a safe car!
actually i just bought one and when i asked for a discount i got almost 2000€ so yeah. not as bad as you say. the delivery is in 4 day. i cant freaking wait!!!
well KIA is fairly equiped and much more affordable than european rivals. The design is much more sculptured and modern than the other desireable badges.Well done KIA!!
Usually all new models are slightly more expensive than the previous but in my country Kia, aswell as Hyundai, tend to reduce the price for 10-20% in the next year or two. There is no question that Kia and Hyundai made a huge leap in quality over the years. In my opinion Ceed and i30 are one of the best in that segment.
How does it hold up today? Driving the families 2011 Chevorlet Aveo and looking at a Focus or Ceed as my first car, preferably beween 2012 to 2014 and I can't decide
I've seen many old Kias... I actually have a three year old Kia Mohave, and my mom has a Mercedes B class (The tiny one). The B class is in the service center for a transmission failure, and I have to drive her to work each morning in my sturdy Kia of three years. The days of Korean unreliability are over and done with. Besides, you get a massive warranty... try a Kia, you might like it, and the same goes for Skoda :)
I keep the steering on sport mode all the time. I have the SW version and I just like the weight of the steering to match the weight of the car. I find Normal and Comfort much to light and disconnects me from the road. Love the car though. The only down side that it's a little sluggish when overtaking. It's a 1.6 Diesel, my first, so I don't know if this is a Diesel thing or that the engine capacity would ideally be better in the SW...
Who cares if its korean/japanese/american etc... the most important thing is that your car can transport you from place to place without complaining damages in/on your car. Why do you need people to think that your car is amazing/sporty/fast? In my opinion, car is for transporting not a statue
Mat....you get 9/10 for reviewing cars; ( I never give 10/10....who's perfect?)....keep up the good work! Ok you have a bottle thing; all men have similar preoccupations; mine's jazz vinyl....and non-fiction books....lots of them!
I see your point, but things change. I have a Hyundai Accent, 2007, and it is still working like day one, great!! just regular maintenance, and it has run over 115000 Km, it is 6 years old now and I cant complaint about it. I also have a Honda CR-V, very reliable, like every Honda I have owned, I used to have a 1984 Civic. So you can have an Idea of what I spect from a car. I have friends withToyota Yaris, and they got problems. This is 2012, no major car maker can afford being unreliable.
Steering on 2016 Elantra SE automatically varies according to conidtions. Its light at parking speeds and gets heavier at highway speeds. I never have to adjust it.
Great car great warranty .One problem though you have to get it serviced at the Kia main dealer to maintain that warranty .The labour costs over 7 years compared to my small garage will mean that in money terms you dont gain anything over a vehicle that needed a few more repairs. Yes you are right. I was wrong about the warranty .. However I was talking with my local mechanic .He has had a Kia Sorrento on a 2008 plate for 2 years that could not be fixed .KIa had the car for 2 months and said it was fine.Just 1 problem -- nobody could start or drive it.Kia have failed to honour the warranty. My mechanic has questioned the real value of the 7 year warranty and has recommended me against buying any Kia
Wow Nick that's disgraceful isn't it.These car makers are a bit like insurance companies when it comes to paying out, they often find a loop hole some where in the small print so they can wiggle out of it,i'm sure yours will be ok thou
Anyone had issues with the stability of the rear seats? Tried removing them and putting them back into place but they still move a little front and back, not too tight.. I'm looking to buy a used 2007 Cee'd, answer ASAP please!!
He said in the video that car is pretty much a Hyundai i30, which was elected as the CarBuyers Car of The Year. With that said, what downside could he say about the Ceed, beyond the artificial heavy steering wheel feeling from the Steering Setting Button? The car is good, as good as the i30, CarBuyers Car of the Year.
the visibility from that car is so much better than the others like the sportage and the rio! but the seat quality and carpets look very cheap and somehow remind you that you are indeed in a Kia!
It is more expensive , but you get more stuff as standard, and it's build quality is better. So, i wouldn't say expensive, i would say, well priced. Depreciation is a problem, but kia is getting bigger and better with each car that make so it is a matter of time when this problem disappears. As for the steering wheel this is a model for the right hand market, there is a model for the left hand market as well. It's a great car with a 7-year warranty, and those are the facts :)
i agree with you but there are some people who will only buy a car if it has a premium badge. stupid i know, but its still a valid point for him to make.
Notice at 1:42 how the dash is already scratched by the AUX jack on a relatively new car at the time of the review. Should have used hard plastic in that area.
well since the ford focus is quite a fun hatchback car, its easy to compare it too... its also the most common car i think so that makes it easy to compare too.
Its a great car kia made a really huge step forward with the second generation of ceed the only downside is that the engines are a bit dump with the 1.4 100hp and 1.6 135 only the diesel now is great with 128 hp i think they need a small turbo engines to do the trick
Oh come on. I've had enough with people talking about "wrong side of the road" etc. Stop being ignorant and realize that there ARE countries that have right hand drive cars. Just because your country has LHD cars, doesn't make others "wrong".
Seeing you sitting in the car makes me realize it's not that small. Have you seen the 2014 Cee'd? I think that's supposed to be replacing the Forte 5 in the states. I hope so, because it looks great.
The Golf's non-turbo diesel is actually slower than the Hyundai Engine in the Kia (105BHP vs 126BHP) - the newly announced Kia Ceed GT will have a 1.6 Turbo 204BHP engine and cost around the same as a Golf GT (who's 2.0L engine is only 150BHP). Plus, a Golf with the same spec as the Ceed 4 Tech costs a whopping £4000 more! I wouldn't have a Golf or a Ceed myself, actually. I'd rather get the Ibiza FR with every bell and whistle available for the money.
Cee'ds are £1,000 off this quarter, and the Cee'd "1" comes with a £99-for-first-year insurance deal. If you bought an old-shape cee'd from new then you should be eligible for up to £3,000 off one of these new shape ones too.
exactly. you don't just afford a good european car, you have to be able to maintain them. everything in this world is about showing off, for example, showing off how reliable your japanese cars are. i do think japanese cars can last longer w/o proper maintenance than many european cars, but please, not the koreans, not the idians, not the malaysian, chinese cars.only the japanese. i personally own a 30 year old volvo with more than 500000 km off the odo, no major problems to date, perfect!
Thats the point, what is the idea on having a car that will ask for more than a regular maintenance? I have a Hyundai, 6 years old 120000+ Km and it still runs like day one! And If you dont believe a Japanese car can last that long, I had a 1984 Honda Civic, and I sold it 2 or 3 years ago, running and working like a swiss clock. Thats why I say that I drive cars, not brands. European cars are good, but they need to improve their reliability. You gotta accept it, most of them dont have that fame.
i have a Renault Megane III ST Gt-line and if this Kia ceed was in the market when i bought the megane... i think that the megane would stay in the dealership and Kia would have come home with me. Love the design...interior and exterior, too bad the petrol engines are weak. I love petrol engines, my megane has the 1.4 TCe.
Thanks for your reply! Another question would be about the automatic transmission on the diesel model. Is it torque converter? The dealer in Cyprus claims that it is torque converter while on paper it says dct (dual clutch transmission). I am little confused here 😜
Charalampos Kounes I always thought it was the 6 speed DCT, but as you say some websites say it is torque converter. Either way it's a very good gearbox with paddleshift, the gear changes are very fast
I love my cee'd and my husband is now replacing his golf for the pro cee'd version just because it has impressed us both so much. Love the design...interior and exterior, too bad the petrol engines are weak. I love petrol engines, my megane has the 1.4 TCe.
I feel the Cee'd is changing all the time. Here's a brand new one - again.
Rebeca was full of bananas and this guy has bottles obsession.
Better than an i30?
2:33 the passenger footwell is gonna be a massive mess after that
Anyone got the 1.6 automatic diesel model? I heard that the double clutch transmission is problematic over time!
Charalampos Kounes My mum has one, bought in September 2016. She loves it and has had no issues.
How should one choose between the two of them =,=. So good!
0:17 he also left out that it was designed by Peter Schreyer who is german, he designed many german cars but now does Kia's.
Diesel or petrol?
Probably one of the best reviews I've seen, but that outro has to go, get rid of it.
Mat Watson's water bottles vs. Rebecca Jackson's bananas. Which is better?
the estate version with boosted practicality in it will make this car perfect I guess. We'll find out in september ;]
