Great video! I have the Samyang as a general purpose lens. It's size and weight are the deciding factor. It is on my camera body all the time unless I know I have something specific to shoot.
Nice review and comparison as always! I just wish you'd include some night shots like in your previous ones though... I tried the samyang 45mm, and the bokeh balls is rather rough compared to any 50mm lenses I've tried so far. Maybe it's the wider focal length? Or did I received a bad copy? Sadly the yongnuo lens is not available in my region. Would like to try it someday though.
Thank you 😊 I’m not sure what you mean by “rough” , but it does look quite busy to me because of the wider perspective. And I also think the Yongnuo lens’ auto focus works better. I borrowed these two lenses to test, and now I’m debating which one I should get myself. I like the YN lens better but it’s so much heavier, so now I’m thinking maybe I should keep the cheap Sony 50mm f1.8 lens?🤔
@@ConstantineSPhotography the edges doesn't look very round and the bokeh balls are textured. But like you said it could be to the wider focal length. I think you should definitely keep the old sony 50mm if you're not doing a lot of video work! Save $$$ for other lenses you might need in the future.
@TheMinsieurSalty yeah that makes sense, the Sony lens has great af, the bokeh looks nice (a bit sharp though, not a big deal), I think I can live with the focus noise
@@ConstantineSPhotography On another note I finally decided to sell my 7artisans 50mm and ordered myself a Samyang 45mm V-AF cine lens. I've heard good things about it and it'll work wonders for me as I'm a hybrid shooter.
Samyang has the lens station dock, can we change focus speed and manual focus throw there?
I actually haven’t tried it yet. I’m thinking about whether to get one or not 🤨

It’s a great go-to lens indeed, you can hardly feel the weight

😎Cool! I haven’t heard of it before, just did some research, it’s a cine lens with AF? Very interesting!
Informative video as always !
Thanks for supporting ☺️
Yongnuo lenses are good. Their focusing motors are usually QUIET .
I am also very satisfied with YN’s autofocus, very helpful when I m filming my dog 🐶
@@ConstantineSPhotography That's awesome. Your video is nice and detailed.
