    Yes!
    Further to previous comment went to this side as too weedy on other side, like everywhere seemed to be last week!
    10’ spinning rod, running ledger, 30g lead and size4 wormer hook..oh and Christchurch angling ragworm
    Thought I needed to upgrade rig, so not concentrating… Crash! Tripod and rod hit ground and a large splash 15m out.
    Couple of minutes later an incredible 61cm bass a new PB.
    Quiet often take for the table but this was amazing to see swimming away afterwards.
    Thanks Tom

    • @christchurchanglingcentre5428
      @christchurchanglingcentre5428  2 года назад

      No, just a single circle hook here. The key is presentation, missed bites could mean masked hooks so your bait perhaps too big for the hook size. Snoods length, weight size and shape, etc can all result in missed bites. Always worth changing things until you find a winning formula.

    wtf is 0.40 line can you not ay aswell for the old school anglers the lb rating of the line too because different manufacturers make lines the same diameter with different lb ratings .... just an observation

    • @christchurchanglingcentre5428
      @christchurchanglingcentre5428  2 года назад +1

      Hello! Sorry I missed this comment!
      I do strongly believe in teaching people the correct way, so will only talk on diameter not breaking strain as this is the only figure that really matters, and is also the only figure that is accurate. As you say different manufacturers claim different breaking strains on lines, so this can be very misleading. If I told you to use a 20lb line (which is what we used to call 0.40 line) but chose an Italian or Spanish line you could end up with a line of around 0.30 diameter which would simply not be right for this situation and would probably lead to lost fish and tangles. 0.40 is 0.40 regardless of manufacturer!
      I hope that helps explain it. Sadly we've been so poorly served in this country by the tackle trade for so long with regards to selling line it's hard to change our ways, but stick with it, it's worth it in the long run.
