Paul seems to be such a positive and humble educator. That's why his groups are some of the most successful.

Paul, it was always a pleasure to study with you back at UNT in the 80s! And also being in drumline with you in 1988! I wish I had taken my studies more seriously back then when I was young but I have kept practicing all these years and remember all of the great advice you gave me. I'm so proud of the inspiration you are giving so many people in percussion! Keep up the great work and keep the fire burning!

And above all..... keep your mental health in check, because if that ain’t there, the music ability (or any other ability) won’t be there.

I went to see Paul in a masterclass at a percussion clinic/show with my percussion group at DePaul in Chicago, and it was really helpful!

45:56 Does anyone know what the phrase "Allowing sound to escape through windows" on the second line of the slide here means?

No clue, but maybe allow the air to pass through the vents without being distorted? Fast velocity to move the air column, but not too fast to distort it or add resistance? No clue
