This is so superior, no weak links anywhere, fighter pilot players (F1 drivers?!) all, executing just an incredibly well written and well considered book. 🎉
@@EnsembleBlock pleasure is mine. I guess it's a testament to how good the video is. You get completely drawn in and can really focus on the performers and each section, as the shots switches between them. It must have taken time to get it all set up right, and then editing!
@@RickCogley That's some really good feedback thank you! We'll be sure to keep making videos like this! And yes, it was a lot work, but it's worth it to bring it to individuals like yourself who appreciate the quality!
Nobody is playing this well. It’s not even close. Snares now lining things up as they head into the thicker part of the tour…catching the quads and basses. Front arrangement and musicality is so strong. Great video production by Ensemble Block!
Absolutely awesome I love how they structured all of the different sections to have solos throughout the show. Shout out to the bass line y’all were cooking those notes
Marched with Les Eclipses in the 80's , Vanguard was already an inspiration for me and a "plus" for the world of drum corps. Listening to this makes me feel the same way ... So Beautiful ... Thank you.
This is the best SCV Battery & Ensemble Book I've heard since The Devil's Staircase. Excellent features, with choppy, dynamic, rhythmic sections. 3:27-3:42 section is a Chef's Kiss! Evil Snare Line! >:D
Believe me I'm no alumnus of a world class line & certainly nameless in the activity, but this past decade has truly proven Paul's repertoire is limitless. In an evolving activity where every composer is pulling out the stops to have their ensemble leave an impression, his ambition and creativity really have come to a head and these kids have the hands to bring his genius to life.
I actually prefer the outdoor recordings that are more free of indoor reverb but this line is so freaking good that I'll take every recording anyway I can get it and this is amazing too!
Former tenors player here- listen for the timbre change. They held the sticks in-between the index and middle finger so that the 'visual' allows them to let the sticks flip over/invert with gravity (hidden behind drum 3 and 4) and have a seamless transition from the wooden-bead end of the stick over to the soft-rubber mallet side of the stick on the backside. It's a dual-bead stick that they use for that segment, rather than a stickbag transition to another mallet/stick. Edit: Unless you're referring to the lean-in visual that happens in the break before that. It's a step out with one foot, putting the weight on the outwards foot to lean from the core, and then bringing both feet together to recenter. It looks different with drums on.

YES😀
Congrats to the SCV drumline for winning top honors yesterday at finals!! It was epic!!!

And I should really mention how professional the video itself is. Wonderful stuff!
@@RickCogleythank you! 🙏

If you enjoyed this, I might suggest the 80's lines under Ralph Hardimon. They are all excellent. 88 and 89 took high perc. Mr. Hardimon is legendary.
Straight 🔥
Stunning.
They may take best drunline this year. may even near sweep l awards. aside from guard. They are killing it. No line comesclose to them this season
Oh they are so back
This ensemble is elite 😮💨

Love this 🔥🔥🔥🔥
This is what I call REAL drumming!
You have to see if to believe it!
Love to see the bucket hats still in the quad line. Lets go boys

The proximity of the plates to the mic at 7:40 brings a new perspective to the writing.
The Best
Holy shit man!
I like the timpani players energy! 🤩
home in Denton...brings that A++ content from the stage!! Love it... this show is so slick....a thunderous comeback season indeed. ❤🌡🌡🔥🔥
Real drumming is making a comeback, these pioneers of the art form
Rich Hammond probably loves this book.
There’s no physical way this isn’t a Sanford lock
Well they're in ~3rd right now so...
_"I remember you was conflicted..."_
Wrong album but yeah
What is that back-and-forth thing that they do at 2:00

Awesome Video @EnsembleBlock Awesome Santa Clara Vanguard Drumline so clean congrats!! 🤩 Was this a clinic? Or? Thank you!
soooooo sweet & tasty
Couldn't agree more!
Are they winning percussion at shows ??
Boston and bluecoats are beating them rn
I also noticed the bass player wearing a mask ...did they get sick?
Bass 5 (Thomas) had been sick the last couple of days, slept most of the day and stepped up for the run. What a team player! ✊🏼
@@AAyaPercussion Thanks ..on a tour that happens... that happened to me several times and it's not fun! 😀
