IMO this is why they won the Sanford over Boston. The combination of Boston leading the Sanford race the whole season and everybody wanting them to win due to them not having won one before resulted in so much emotional and expectational pressure that it got to them. SCV's relative youth and coming off a sabbatical year actually played to their advantage, in addition to them having many, many Sanfords to fall back on.

SCV is famous for their Cymbal line, but in almost every SCV video they dont show them. For a lot of marching bands outside of DCI (even globally), Cymbal players look up to them. But its sad we cant see them in the videos, so disappointing 😢

Boston’s perc ensemble is good this year but nothing compares to the sound of a SCV perc ensemble

Gonna get crucified for my opinion, but I don't care for this book. Sure, the difficulty and technicality is there, but where's the music? It sounds too technical and not musical.

10:41. Likely the cleanest snare part I’ve ever heard played.

I actually prefer the outdoor recordings that are more free of indoor reverb but this line is so freaking good that I'll take every recording anyway I can get it and this is amazing too!

Rennick is just the best writer/arranger of at least the last decade IMO. We did a watered down version of his ‘94 UNT indoor show when I was in high school. Could be mic placement, but sounds like the snares are still trying to clean up the last few specs of dirt. Tenors and basses have it locked down hard. They’ll pull it all together over the next week or so heading to East and then finals. Sound amazing for a come-back group! Rooting for them!
