I used to use Acronis back in the day.. but it seems the current version went to subscription model. Regarding RescueZilla.. isn't it a fork from Redo Backup and Recovery / Redo Rescue, not CloneZilla? Clonezilla has been around.. can that be used instead? Or thoughts on EaseUS Todo Backup or Macrium Reflect?
I have made a backup of my manjaro kde plasma ssd, but When I restore the backup to a virtual machine I get error message When boot. ERROR: resume: hibernation device 'UUID=long number here' not found. I have checked the UUID and the number is correct in fstab. Any idea what I do wrong?
I have dual boot on my external hard drive which is only 250GB i want to clone it to my internal hard drive but my internal is larger than my external i have to allocate space on my internal hard drive 250GB for clone OS but i don't see my allocate partition i see my 1TB internal drive only so my question is How to clone Ubuntu from an external hard drive to an internal hard drive with allocated space dual boot
Best tool ever. I included a menuentry in /etc/grub.d/40-custom to boot the ISO directly from ssd. Works like a charm. When downloading Rescuezilla I would recommend version 2.3.1 and not 2.4, as it shows following info on download page -> Rescuezilla v2.4.1 Coming Soon Rescuezilla v2.4 introduced a number of bugs, sorry. I ran out of time this weekend to fix everything. Now aiming for an updated release next weekend.
Im having Kali linux on secondary HDD drive (i switch it which i want to use ) Currently on Windows OS HDD - can i clone Kali that present in secondary HDD to new 3rd HDD
i have an external hard drive that spins and then stops and an error message pops up saying it cant mount it....would this help me get my stuff off there?
Can I use Rescuezilla to backup my cloud VPS server? If so, do I install this Rescuezilla on my desktop computer or install on my cloud VPS server? I appreciate if you can reply.
I get a black square in the middle of the screen after choosing "graphical fallback mode" and then nothing happens. Is there a solution for this issue?
Yes it can. Just select the partition you want to backup. You can also make a Disk Image, and restore a selected partition from that Image. WARNING!: When restoring a partition from a Partition Image or Disk Image, you MUST DISABLE the "Restore Partition Table" box! If the destination disk doesn't have the same partition table (i.e. same disk size, same partition sizes, FS-types and labels) as the source disk, the partition table of the destination disk gets destroyed (and data can only be recovered using special tools), when this option is enabled. I hope the RescueZilla team disables this option by default, when restoring partitions, in the next edition.
There's also an option (like "Symantec Ghost Explorer") available, to mount and browse a Backup Image File that contains your data (f.i. personal files like photo's and ODT's), and restore a single file from that Image. FYI: Image Files of RescueZilla are compatible with CloneZilla Image Files. Be warned: The interface of RescueZilla is beautiful, the interface of CloneZilla Live is awful!
You can copy to a smaller disk, but you first have to shrink the partition of the source disk. The target disk does not have to be physically bigger, only bigger in terms of total partition size.
It lets you roll back from bad updates, security issues, and just about anything else that can go wrong with your system, even the mistakes that you make yourself
Sir can I use SSD & HDD together with ubuntu OS. Ubuntu will be installed on SSD & all the files on HDD. Many people days that either you cannot use both of them as internal drives or there will be no benefit of ssd? Please guide ne Sir
You can install Ubuntu on SSD , and use HDD to store the Files, Try to format the hard drive to Exfat that allows to store big files. Also in ubuntu you need this package to be installed in order to work with Exfat drives. sudo apt install exfat exfat-fuse
@@kskroyaltech No. I did the backup on a huge pendrive and copied the backup to a second laptop. The experimental image browser says the backup is there. Probably my problem is solved (preserve the original win11 installation from my new lenovo).
Thank You KSK, You really saved my day❤
I use Ventoy for simple load of any bootable ISO files.
Nice
Very good video ! Exactly what I needed. Good explanation. Thank you very much ! 👍👌

I think it works best with the same drive type

Reboot, and when you see grub menu press E and add (*nomodeset*) argument at the end of Linux Statement.
@@kskroyaltech I currently see 4 Linux statements in my GRUB menu. Which and where exactly should I write *nomodeset*
Can rescuezilla backup partitions selectively? That would be a big plus

Why are you switching to Ubuntu any specific reason not to choose Fedora?
I use for Crypto mining, mostly ubuntu has packages and its very easy to install. So....
So it doesnt only copy the files but i need to have a disk bigger than the whole system disk size(even the empty space)?
Yes
You can copy to a smaller disk, but you first have to shrink the partition of the source disk. The target disk does not have to be physically bigger, only bigger in terms of total partition size.
You can use a Partition Editor like GParted to shrink the partition before cloning.
Hey is it different from gnome disk utility ? I mean it has clone feature too.
Sir, Its more advanced than gnome du.
@@kskroyaltech thx

Of course you can. Depends on the used file systems on your SSD or HDD. Just mount them manually or auto mount over /etc/fstab.

Sad... my fucking laptop just can't see the SSD where I want to put the backup in.
Is your SSD encrypted ?

does this work moving a sata drive to nvme drive?
Why not ..
My PC just went black in the middle of cloning. Fuck!
What happened ?
Waring that crap of a program destroy my machine, spend over a day trying to rebuild all my program... TOTALY CRAP!!
