- Over the last four decades, China has achieved significant results in poverty alleviation and reduction. From 1978 to 2018, the number of impoverished people dropped from 770 million to 16.6 million, and the poverty rate dropped from 97.5 percent to 1.7 percent. China in a period of 60 years lifted 800 million people out of poverty. It’s an achievement no other nation can achieve. In the 1970’s to 1980 you hardly see Chinese tourists around the world. Today Chinese tourists are all over the globe. This is an amazing change & is a proof of China’s success.

I came from a poor family and education really helped me improve our lives. I think the government of the Philippines must also focus on education to eradicate poverty in the country.

@@joeawk Sad to say, quality of education in the Philippines is very low. Everyone can get a diploma but when you ask them anything about the content of their program, very few are competent enough to answer such questions. I studied in the Philippines both in public and private universities.
The main problem with rising education quality is it also raising the price to get education. And after thestudents graduated, there's very small job opportunity on fields.
The simple answer is, because there is political will from the government of China. Secondly, Chinese leaders make decisions for the long term. And in my opinion, Chinese citizens are more cocehesive and a willingness to work together that benefits the whole country. I would imagine it is not easy to govern a population of over 1 billion spanning many diverse geographic regions.

@@seananderson5334 The US believes in neoliberalism and the concept of individual freedom. That is, the freedom to be as rich or as poor as you wanna be as if it's a choice. If you only work hard enough. That's partially true, but too often a myth. We have diminished our middle class and increased homelessness due to the harsh realities of neoliberalism on the poor and even our hard working middle class.
We could use a little socialism building schools and infrastructure and basic income assistance while promoting small business (once the backbone of American prosperity). In fact, it supports capitalism with expendable income. But Americans are afraid of being called a Marxist even though we are not. We believe in personal property rights, free speech, civil and voting rights, and individual freedom. But that is not enough.

Without companies, entrepreneurial spirit and skills, this project couldn’t have been successful because you need jobs for skilled and educated workers that are in line with their training/education, high salaries, the ability to grow/be promoted and to know that if you invest your time and energy into something, you will reap the fruits.
The world is filled with graduates, who cannot and do not get jobs that match their qualification. China creates jobs that match the academic qualifications of their people. In case the job doesn’t exist, China always has a job that can become a career or ensure high income. This is incredible.
The Chinese government operates similarly to an entrepreneur who owns a conglomerate business. Entrepreneurs create opportunities and industries. They make things happen. That’s what China does.
In China, anyone can become an entrepreneur and they’ll be facilitated. It’s a possibility. If they don’t want to, they can work harder and get a promotion at their current company, since all companies in China keep growing and face the inevitable need to promote. That’s what gives people reason to invest time and effort.
It’s common sense, that employees in China do get promoted and receive high salaries because without that, it’s not possible to have a continuous increase in the number of millionaires, multi millionaires and billionaires. It’s also common sense, that entrepreneurs are facilitated which is why the number of entrepreneurs keeps increasing.
Chinese model of governing is truly for the people by the people. The governing system is based on meritocracy and it gets things done , Chinese people are really working hard therefore laughing all the way to the bank.

This is proof that this virus may have been from the US all along. In a desperate attempt by US government to then blame others, US may have planted evidence in other countries I won't say where because you all know where I'm talking about, to deflect from their own poor disgusting US practices on home soil. These other 5 eyes, are also involved in covering up poor practices by their ally US. Or downplaying it as if its not connected but we all know now, this could be the smoking gun that proves without a doubt it was actually America responsible for this health pandemic.
Chinese, including Korean, Japanese experts, now even a growing number of other experts throughout the world are now questioning where the virus came from, many are even speculating based on their scientific findings that these game from outside China, a particular DNA in the virus strain is alien to China, meaning one particular DNA sequence from this virus is NOT native to China, meaning it could not have come from China, but something could've been added to make it look as if the virus came from China.
With the track record of the US, they're well known for scapegoating other countries, whilst trying to clean their filthy hands of all responsibility for any of their faults etc. October last year, there was a military game held in Wǔhàn, I'm sure many people have heard of this assumption already. The US could've used this golden opportunity to spread or plant this virus inside Wǔhàn in order to shift blame to China since they did send a batch of solders to attend this military game held in Wǔhàn last October, and they knew this stick because they themselves have been on this crusade demonising China for so many years duping millions of people around the world.
The very fact that US withdrew from the WHO is telling. It means the US is trying to deflect from their own disgusting practices, of mishandling dangerous pathogens, dangerous practices that endanger people's life's. even the staff, some of the people handling these dangerous materials in US labs have been affected by this, some became ill because of these bad practices or lack of proper procedures, not keeping up to standards.
This if found out was true, US would lose face on the international stage, as a big fat liar, who blamed another country for their own bad mistake. But since this is China & the propaganda against China is so strong, nobody would even question this narrative because of all the western msm propaganda against China, its like one massive big megaphone against one little megaphone as Eina Tengen said himself which is true. China is fighting an uphill struggle for the truth, and the US is suppressing the truth with their propaganda by blaming another country.
With a the track record of US covering up their bumblings, mishandling of dangerous pathogens in the past, including the secrecy of these sites, it does seem questionable & reasonable to think this, looking at America's track record, there's nothing good to say about America's track record here. They've lied one too many times in the past over various things.
And since America & China are locked in a fierce trade dispute, it would certainly work in Washington's favour to undermine China, as we all know now with Hong Kong, as with Xinjiang & Tibet, of course India is also being used against China by US to antagonise China just as the other regions mentioned above are used for the same purpose. So in this light, having said all this, its not entirely impossible that this could be the US who released this dangerous pathogen in order to put China on the spot in a particular time when China is in a very strong position economically than the US, in essence a US attempt to slow down China, to give US more time R&D to develop their own 5G Tech, maybe the purpose for US doing this is different, but its not entirely impossible either.
The US has the motive, and the means to do so. As the video here clearly states, US has many bio labs around the world. And this really got me thinking, I do know US has many military bases in many other countries, over 800 military bases, i knkw they have one in South Korea, In Japan, basically all over the world. More than any other country in his world. US along with their 5 eye allies could've colluded with each other or not to release this virus in order to blame another country, their economic rival China, its very blatant that all the countries demonising China right now are within the 5 eye countries.
Coincidence? It just so happens that US has military bases in all those 5 eye countries, again coincidence? Some may disagree, which is fine. But look at the facts. Who gains by actually doing this deliberately, certainly NOT China, it doesn't serve their purpose, regardless of whether on purpose which is completely impossible of China to do, or whether by accident. It certainly does serve US motive to do so, including those 5 eye countries, who all seem to be relentless at demonising China on 100% everything China does & says or doesn't do.
If this eve came out that it was indeed the US who did this, there is gonna be hell to pay by the US, their market will go down for a number of years, it will take them a very long time to recover from it IF it ever came to light that indeed it was America who did this. Given the evidence we have so far, its still not enough to concretely say without a doubt that America did it, just not enough hard evidence so far, they have the perfect motive yes, they have the perfect means to do so yes, we need much more stronger evidence.

The greatest human right is to ensure that your citizens do not freeze to death in their homes. It is shown in prolonged and painstaking actions, not in talks.
China need to continually improve the living standards of the rural area. This not only reduces poverty of the regions, but also help to attract those who emigrated to big cities back to their home towns and thus alleviate the pressure on the big metropolis.

@@slimk3836 China seeks economic growth too yes. Firstly, because China is not yet a developed country and secondly, because it still uses capitalism. When industry has developed to such an extent that everyone can be guaranteed a decent living there should be a point at which this wealth is somewhat fairly distributed instead of creating artificial scarcity, which is what capitalism has been doing for decades now and it's getting worse every year.
Electronic devices could be made so well that they could last decades before they have to be replaced but they are intentionally built to break after only a few years to make sure that the client buys their new product again because this is more profitable to the capitalist than providing the customer with a qualitative product. This phenomenon is called planned obsolescence and it is a symptom of late stage capitalism creating incredible amounts of waste whilst making people do unnecessary labour that could be eliminated were the industry more efficient. Instead, people are forced to work just as much even though productivity skyrockets. When are we satisfied? When do we have enough? Money can't buy happiness, so what the hell are we struggling for?

The economy is capitalist market economy and the politics is communism. Communist politics can eliminate capitalist monopolies and allow more people to benefit. If it is just a capitalist economy, oligarchic economy will eventually be formed. If there is no government to restrict capitalists, then more benefits will only flow into the pockets of capitalists, and the people at the bottom can only be slaves of capitalists' workers.

because Yunnan has lots of deep mountains and boarder with Tibet, there's no roads to the villages and many remote areas. On the other hand it has the most beautiful unspoiled sceneries in China. Vegetables you have never seen or heard of in other parts of the world. It's a magical province. Glad they have better lives now even in such rural places.

Poverty and walking on streets safely is the basic human right and freedom. Yet democracy and freedom sometime produce bad politicians(US), gun fire on streets(US), resources wasted on arguing all the time rather than get anything done and violence protest by crowded emotional uneducated people(HK).

I have to admit that China has the best system of government for the talent of the Chinese people. Leaders in China do not worry about gender identity politics. Sacrifices are made to fight poverty for the common good. Personally I don't want to be sacrifice because I am not Chinese.

The US & the West kept criticising China’s authoritarian regime. But they never acknowledged the achievements of this authoritarian regime.
The US is more interested in its hegemony than caring for its people. The money the US spent on wars & maintaining 800 military bases around the world should be spent on poverty elimination, improving infrastructure etc. There are no high speed trains linking major cities in the US. How many countries in Europe have high speed train?

Yes, there are still so much problems inside China, but overall they are targetted for improvement in targetted time table, thanks to the recent leaders od China.
Its is uphill battle for the Chineese government to lifted all of it 1.3 billions people out of poverty. We are the people live in the highly developed in both living standards and income. But China with a nation with 30% of world population but only have about 7% of its land area fertile for agriculture because most of it land are mountainous or desert. So in the early 80 the Chineese government have to make the painful decisions to have a one child policy . And focus on stear the whole nation out of poverty and giving its people hope.. and with that focus and determination the whole country moving towards an manufacture factory of the world . China have the man power with 1.3 billion people and the western capitalist have the expertise and know how.. that's is how the world see today. It's a decision the Chineese government make 40 years ago. What a enjoyable experience to be a witness how the Chineese achieving their goal in short amounts of time..I hope the Chineese people shown their appreciation and respect towards the western style of business.
