    I'm not "on the fence" about the Gen8 V2, I'm just on the "lack of funds" train. This video and the entire series have helped me decide what I'm going to do when I get mine. Thanks for you helpful videos

      Look forward to a long and enjoyable, yet somewhat unhealthy relationship with that rig, lol! They are great little crawlers and the aftermarket sure has plenty of offerings for them. Keep an eye out for the phase 2 video that should be coming out in the next couple of weeks. Sneak peek, we will be doing a couple of mechanical upgrades including more of what Club 5 offers as well as a boat load of their exterior accessories.

    I too am upgrading my Gen 8 and was not too sure on what to do with the servo situation. I like how you went with the Hobbywing brushed ESC, Holmes motor, and the 35kg servo. I am building on a budget and that seems like the best bang for the buck. Great video and thanks for sharing man!

    You should see my Gen8 v1. It’s on straight axles, 120mm shocks, 2.2 wheels with huge boggers. The body had been trimmed to allow the tires to flex up to the hood and rear windows.
    Top speed about 3mph, torque enough to blow out axles.

      Some of those servos require higher voltages to hit their max power. I have the 35-45kg Betu that if run directly off the battery, not does that make a difference.

    So, I just subscribed.
    You have a very likeable personality.
    I like the mods that you did on your gen8 v2.
    Good video quality and editing.
    As far as mods go, please check out the club 5 racing rock sliders.
    They are brand new. They are some of the cleanest most functional sliders made.
    And do the free mod.
    move all of your links top and bottom to the outer hole on your Center skid.
    It improves your climbing dramatically.
    it also improves your approach angle and your departure angle.
    once you stretch your wheelbase you don't need to push the front bumper in or the rear bumper in.
    you can leave them in the stock location.
    Great looking rig..
    I am eagerly anticipating your next video.

    move the rear taillight lenses to the inside of the body for more protection and better scale look.

  • @c21aaron
    @c21aaron Год назад +1

    I'm new to RC, I just got my Gen 8 V2 today, seems very well built. What is the term "scale" refer too, I see it often. Is it okay to use 11.1V Li-ion 3x18650 batteries under Li-Po setting? I have those batteries from my DeeRC 200E I bought a few weeks ago.

    • @BaconNinjaFPV
      @BaconNinjaFPV  Год назад

      well then, welcome to the hobby!!! Scale refers to the whole rig being a scale model of a real vehicle. It does not how ever reflect a reduced scale in the cost of parts for them, lol...these things get expensive. As for running a Li-Ion, that should be just fine in there. You won't get any more run time than you would with a LiPo since the low voltage cutoff will be the same at 3.2v even though LiIon get their extended runtime by being able to go down below that. There may be a little less torque as well since they can't put out the same amps as a LiPo can, but it really shouldn't be too noticeable.
