I agree! We are currently collecting free pine wardrobes off marketplace to make a media unit for the living room, albeit we have had to use some so far for benches, replacing cupboard tops etc I couldn’t buy off the shelf wood now
I don’t have anything like your talent Ted, so I won’t be copying what you do anytime soon, but I really enjoy these how-to DIY videos: they’re so satisfying. The re-using or repurposing of old pieces is so important and you both do it so well. Thanks for sharing. 👊🏽
Good job, Ted! I agree with you both that these older pieces of wood in whatever form & shape you find them, add to the character of any room, especially in the Templar Suite. I appreciate that you care so much about reclaiming & saving what we can, to avoid losing our beautiful trees to new projects!! Thx!! 🇺🇸
Hi Ted and Lisa. Your old doors, now look beautiful. I love your repurpose integrity for upcycling... Recycle and create something new, especially in regards to saving our beautiful tree's from being cut down. What a better way to create and give things a new life with a new purpose... What a great channel you have created.❤ Thanks so much for your inspiration, vision, time and effort.❤❤🇦🇺🦘🐨
Totally agree with re-using wood and Ted knows how to transform something others would have just cut up for firewood. There is such satisfaction to be gained by creating something beautiful out of someone else's rubbish. No pain no gain.
Love how you all bring old discarded things back to life. Love the new channel! All the best. Bet you will find a use for the old lock at some point! lol Good, that is what I thought. All the best.
Great job. Personally I'm not a fan of the burnt wood technique / finish that you've used here and elsewhere, but that's just a matter of personal taste. The craftsmanship and handiwork are excellent. Cool little jacks that you have to level the panelling before fixing too!!
lol yes we do that all the time ... change our mind! lol Wonder how many layers of paint were on this door??? Love these on the wall. Great job Ted!!! Beautiful! All the best.
Well done Ted beautiful work and intro's are new as well :) great music :) Lalacelle also used old doors to fix paneling in their suites. I am guessing you will put a picture rail along the top will tidy that up nicely. You could maybe reuse the locks elsewhere. I think I would have just stained it or painted it a dark colour but that's me. Some use mdf to do the same but doesn't always look as nice as a door and so many of these type of doors are easily obtained and has dual uses.
As a neo-druid I like how these people think!! Why chop down an innocent tree when you can recover a small piece of history filled with "l'âme du lieu" -- the soul of the place? Old wood speaks -- and when it does it has a lot to say!

This was such a great idea! This type of creativity is what I love about your channel.
Reusing materials is so smart both economically and earth wise. They look very authentic to boot.

Nice dry old doors - it makes total sense to use them for panelling. Beautiful!

Sorry but k I’ll m not a fan of the music interludes. I’d much rather watch with just the normal noises.
Ann, maybe not good to hear the "normal" noises, could be in for a shock 😱😱😂😂
