I really hope cynder gets into another spyro game
I imagine Cynder as an Anti-Hero.
The plate really surprised me when I saw it was Cynder.
It raised so much questions about it, either be a nice reference or something bigger.
And yes, how Spyro does know Cynder?
Your ideas are really cool about that.
That maybe she and Spyro actually were friends, but she got away and Spyro barely recognizes her sounds interesting, along that the mystery of why there aren't female or child dragons in OG/Reignited.
I have a theory.
As we know, dragons possess magic, and considering what we've seen, Spyro eventually would earn magic.
So, what it, the plate he drew of Cynder, was actually seen, not of her, instead of an image of her in his dreams, like a premonition?
That also would explain why she has black scales in the draw that Spyro made, it is not of her actual state, is of her eventual corrupted state, made by the Sorcerer or other dragon/creature with possession of dark magic.

Really, I just can't stoy wishing that Cynder appears in a future Spyro game. She's so cool.
Also, I hope too that they give us some story and reason about why female and child dragons doesn't appear, seeing how Spyro is the only infant there, until A Hero's Tail where Flame and Ember also appear.
Maybe, after the Sorceress' defeat, the dragons thought that they finally were free of menaces and called the females with their children, hidden in protection, to come back home at last?

I hope they'll bring back Cynder and Ember for future games, regardless of what their roles are. One theory I have for the lack of female dragons may be due to the fact that most, if not all, were hunted to extinction by enemies of the dragons in an attempt to wipe them out. This would explain why the eggs in the third game (laid before the deaths of their mothers) were even more important than usual: they may give birth to new females.
"What happened to the other dragons spyro's age" is a great question, that I can't belive I hadn't thought of before.

There's Spyro, Flame, Ember, and maybe Cynder, and that's it. The rest are either elders or newborn.

4:50 iirc I believe Cynder was always canonically black from conception (plus also maybe that black dragons were also special somehow but I can’t remember where I’m getting that from)
Excellent vid, man! Honestly, since the Dragon designs were such a selling point for Reignited, I think they'll definitely bring them back while introducing new ones. Since there are obviously female dragons in Spyro 3, I believe they are separated based off classes just like the originals. This could be a cool way to explore the Machinists and Aquifer-like ideas while introducing new dragons, and we could see that females are separated into certain classes; that would be an awesome way of introducing new characters, hopefully including Reignited versions of Cynder, Ember, and other fan favorites.
Seeing Malefor in the Classic universe, would make me jump for joy. He's my fan favorite.

I just noticed that there are no markings on her forehead on the plate. Maybe those markings are tattoos and she gets them between the time Spyro first met her and when she returned. Either way, those markings suit her perfectly.

I think that this can be actually a hint for the next Spyro game (Cynder will be re-introduced in the sequel for Reignited Trilogy)

The Sorcerer *could* be a version of Malefor. He *did* corrupt Red after all.
And that he wasn't even in his true form or full power with the dragon form he showed us. Personally, I'd like to see his staff turn into a battleaxe when he achieves his perfect form. It's just the right shape.
To answer the question on what happened to dragons spyro's agree is a little off. It's more that spyro's the only dragon that is of his age. The fairies only deliver eggs every so many years (12 if I'm not wrong). Hence the year of the dragon celebration that everyone was sleeping off at the start of Spyro 3. Spyro is noted to have been found (alongside sparx) in a field, abandoned. Hence he's parentless and is adopted by the artisans. And why he has no coeval dragons in the og trilogy. That being pseudo retconned by AHT including Flame and Ember.
Don't know if anyone else has said this but I think it's Malefor who in my opinion is an evil reflection of Spyro or even an Evil Spyro.
I rewlly hope cynder does appear in the potential spyro 4. 2021 has to be the year for a new Spyro game already please!

I thought the original trilogy is the past and Cinder is actually in the future with a future incarnation of Spyro who in Legends is the hero. So that depiction of Cinder could very well be just another dragon.
I believed too, but there is one pretty interesting theory that says TloS is past and Reignited (Original) Spyro is future

I think it's a one-off easter egg, and not something with any lore implications. If Cinder and new lore for her are being made, I don't think they were working on it back when Reignited was in production.
Not to ruin the fun, but it's because the artist was making a silly reference lol. That's it. Also, according to one of the lead artists, Cynder was actually gonna be a wind dragon, the darkness gave her both her powers and color. I like to think the different "era's" of the games are simple when the dragon is born again, tbh, it's never made clear how long it takes for them to hatch, but the lead artist speculated it could be 10s to 100s of years. I always figured legend of spyro took place before the original games, tbh. And maybe the same reason you don't see young dragon's and females is because they live in a safer area. Afterall, Im sure dragon eggs are treasured by evil people and they can easily connect to different realms and such

Looking at what we now know about Dark Spyro potentially coming back to the "Spyro the Dragon" continuity, I'd actually begin to suspect that it was Dark Spyro, or some kind of similar process.
Maybe it will turn out that Spyro successfully escaped from Dark Spyro but Cynder is still one being of darkness that hasn't escaped from that side

So I think it's likely that it was simply a reference, however theory wise I agree with the idea of the female dragons heading to another land for breeding or other dragon culture reasons (which potentially could be the homeworld-regions Ripto originally came from since he already has a hatred for dragons) I don't think cinder needs to be corrupted to be black tbh, it does bring up why Spyro is seemingly the only hatchling of his generation the year of the dragon happening every 12 years if we go by real world time then sometime after the hatchlings gain their dragonfly partners, I myself don't have the best knowledge of the Gameboy games but if the sorcerer's a purple Dragon too, could it be possible a purple Dragon is born out of sync with the year of the dragon, although that can't work due to ember & blaze(was that his name) from a hero's Tail (I know they're in a grey area of games but to me everything up to a hero's Tail era is all one timeline) which implies there's, could it be a process akin to jedi training for lack of a better example you start off all as one nest all the hatchlings playing together until the day they gain their dragonfly at which point the females head to their unknown region and go to their respective clans at which point the hatchlings decide which clan suits them best to start their profession & start a homeworld (the difference for Spyro being his laid back nature made him last to decide and subsequently the only on-world hatchling when Gnasty attacked & afterwards his life took quite the detour from the established path set out for young dragons) after deciding on a homeworld I imagine that young dragons are taken on by a tutor of the craft they wish to learn something akin to the dragon elders of a Hero's Tail but given the circumstances of Spyro's life a few different mentors decide to team up two who potentially already have apprentices. As for cinder we have Red who was corrupted or worked for the sorcerer or something but didn't turn black, Ripto who comes from an unknown location other than it's portal coordinates are Hunters birthday (which the sorcerer could be another possible reason he hates dragons & the Sorceress, I know she's supposed to be nothing to do with the sorcerer but it's a bit to coincidental for my liking, also those two dragon spirits in the fireworks factory and crush of crush & gulp looks like a deformed dragon there's alot of lose ends and I rambled sorry

There's no female dragons... because the programmers and animators didn't pay them enough. haha, I guess if they unlock the players' spirits on a Spyro 4, they make Cynder more canonical Within that timeline instead of the "The Legend" alternative it could be amazing. As well as, in a way. Find the female dragons or something? Just my opinion UwU
