I really was impressed with this figure and went in kind of blind on the classified incarnation of Rock N Roll. Never had this figure before actually but I always prefer a modernization take rather than rehash of the O-Ring incarnation each and every time. They do have the retro carded for a few of the classified line figures as you mentioned and that should ideally appease the “I want their 80s uniform” collector to a degree, but me personally I love what they did with him in his first release in classified. I wish they’d modernize stalker as well, like they did Duke and Scarlett. Yes I know few people like the wave 1 incarnations but I prefer the modernized looks they’ve done for the most part. Interestingly, My Rock N Roll is arriving on the 6th of June, D-Day!!!! Yep, I agree this is my must have, at all costs!!!! I am just waiting to see what the colors look like in Hand before I decide on paint apps! Definitely need to touch up the belts and holster and pouches! That's why they make paint!!!! Thanks for the Review, Hasbro seems to swing and miss throughout the line...This one went over the fence!!!!! Peace!!!!
I bought 2 of these. The best figure in the wave. The one thing keeping this from being 10 out of 10 is it’s not all green like the vintage. 9/10 can’t wait to get mine.
Finally got my Rock and Roll a few days ago.... He looked amazing when he was first shown and even better in person. I'm leaving it as he came there's no need to do anything other than may adding a few paints apps to make his details on the figure pop
I don't care for tattoos but his seem to be well done. The lighter shirt breaks it up and makes him more interesting. I added some orangey brown to the panels on Breaker's uniform and helmet, then dry brushed a mud effect over his boots and bike. It brought them to life. I like that he has extra hands, but they should all have left and right fists and some gesturing/relaxed hands.
Great review! The mail away Rock N Roll is based after the version 2 Hasbro sold in the mid to late 80s. And he had 2 of the min guns. This was not the Battle Corp version. Battle Corps was introduced in the 90's. Both figures rock!!!
As a kid being more familiar with version 2, I always thought The name rock and roll was because of his two miniguns, and his guns were named Rock, and roll. So now looking at version 1, his name doesn't make sense if he doesn't have the two mini guns

Love the use of the high cut helmet with the comtac looks great. I love the turn toward more realism.

The artwork is done very well on all these boxes, but I do miss the file cards you would get on the old 3.75 figures.
