It's good to see Paul's sense of humor is still alive and kicking
:)
Best sense of humor in the skys…and probably on the ground.
Great video and even better shirt Mr Stewart. And a special mention to the chunder bag comment! Looks like a fantastic seat - love the colour & design elements.
Siem Reap is amazing. Went there 15 years ago. They've obviously expanded the airport as back then it was only one big waiting area at the boarding gate. Looking forward to your A380 first class report.
Great to have you back in the air Paul! Good to have the tantalising food descriptions pre-flight and on the flight - I like my food! Good to hear those engines spooling up and see the scenery from the windows - including the biggest freshwater lake in S.E. Asia. Great videoing and commentary Paul. Looking forward to the next one!
Thanks for a wonderful review Paul. Many skip a detailed business lounge tour so i really appreciate that you always give us a short but detailed review of the lounge before you board. Didn't expect any other airline to do the throne seat. Thought it would just be JetBlue. This is definitely a much welcome difference to business class seating on a narrow body aircraft which generally have always had poor seat options.
great to see you back. It's been a long time since your last flight video. Looking forward to the future Singapore flight reports.
Hi Paul thanks for such a great review, good to see you review Airlines again
Thanks for sharing. Good to see your sense of humour hasn't left you :) Look forward to your next video.
Glad to see you traveling. Thanks for posting
Hi Paul Singapore Airlines use these aircraft on the Singapore - Darwin and Singapore - Cairns services.
We have been told that some of the Singapore - Perth flights will also use the 737-800
Love the business class.
For a short flight the food was ok
As you mentioned it seemed strange the crew did not bring a welcome drink or cold towel. It seems to cheapen the business class experience that SQ is renowned for.
All in all I give it a thumbs up.
Great vlog once again
I think that onboard service will differ from one route to another and longer flights will have all spoileteroires like hot towels etc.
Been such a fan of your videos from the start. Appreciate you sharing them with us, big fan
I appreciate that!
Never thought we would see a narrow body in Singapore colors again, let alone a 737. I would have thought that cabin width would be a problem for them and how they would incorporate their legendary service and business class in to this type of aircraft. Alas they did it!
PS. i am impressed that you managed to save the MAX debacle until the end unlike most youtubers who do it in the first two minutes of a max review.
So good to have your flight videos back!
Hi Paul thanks for the video very helpful
Great vlog Paul! Nice to see you on Star Alliance metal and hopefully we'll see many more!
Great work mate! Loved the look of Siem Reap airport, so authentic!
Thank you, Mr Stewart, for the splendid video. I'm thrilled to share with you that I shall be embarking on a journey from Singapore to Cairns, QLD, aboard Singapore Airline's 737-8 MAX, travelling in the comfort of business class. Your insights have certainly added to my anticipation for this forthcoming adventure.
Safe travels!
@@PaulStewartAviation Thank you.
Great vid Paul keep them coming 👍 👏
Hi Paul,
A great review of the SA 737 business class. The cabin looked good and the food looked suberb. Keep up the great reviews.
Kind regards
DS
Deadly, great to see you back mate 👍
Thank you very much, Paul, for sharing your wonderful documentary video with us.
Glad you made to the ground given the aircraft ;)
Thank you for sharing this video.
This is an amazing video as usual :)
Always enjoy your reviews. Definitely agree with your 2 garlic bread choice 😊😊
Ive not been on 737-max.Cabin lokks good.Good job
Noice! I booked a return trip between SIN and HKT next month, and luckily I found second row seats still available. I’m keen to try this!
Great video, never been on a Max aircraft but not sure how much longer that will last, seems like there's a lot flying around these days!
As always Paul a great video and an even better shirt
That's super cool for lie-flat in a 737! And I like the engine spool-up...sounds like a mini GE90
I flew SIN CCU business class on the same aircraft type. The lie flat is pretty ordinary specially in the second row where the more you make the bed flat your heel and toes get squeezed - with the narrow configuration. For a night flight it is quite uncomfortable and a 3/4 lie flat is perhaps the best. On the return leg I chose the front row which has 2 seats. On these seats the lie flat I felt was slightly better as there was more space around your feet. Overall most uncomfortable to lie down and defeats the main purpose of flying business class which is to be able to have a relaxing snooze on board.
Umm, I don't know the outside part of the lounge in Cambodia sounded nice!!! 😂
Everything about Singapore airlines seems top notch, even on their short haul flights.
I think engine noise sounds subdued compared to other PW products. The was no signature buzz-saw sound of the fan tips going super sonic. Therefore it cuts down on noise and maybe increases efficiency (I'm not sure about the last part). Great review as always Paul, Cheers!
I'm a pilot for this very aircraft and this route. I've flown MBA many times while it was in SilkAir Colours. Then flew this aircraft again in SQ colours all the way to Cairns around the region. I still prefer the engine noise from the 737NGs but I love the fuel efficiency of the new 737-8s. Awesome video! Thanks
It's great to hear from the crew that fly these! Are the 737-8s quite a bit more powerful too? Do you feel that during takeoff?
@@PaulStewartAviation nah it’s about the same power for takeoff. The NG is a much better climber, but burns around 3-400KGs more per hour! That’s why the 737-8s are popular with airlines.
@@pjd5046 interesting. thanks for the extra info
This model is not safe
Another great trip report Paul 👍🏻👍🏻
Glad you enjoyed it
I flew Singapore Business from NYC to Frankfurt and Stockholm. It was very different and nice.
Looks amazing. As for the 737 MAX fiasco, I was talking to a Virgin pilot a few months ago who was looking forward to flying a MAX for the first time when I asked him about them. As much fun as they are to poke fun of - in all honesty, I think if the pilots feel safe around them, I should too.
Yeh I'd tend to agree with you.
Wow Paul Just Wow!!! A fully flat bed on a 737-8 MAX That’s incredible! I cannot wait to try it someday especially with Singapore Airlines 🇸🇬 after my transplant & recovery ❤️🩹
The Singapore Sling also sounds tastely-nauseous! 🤢 with all those spirits 🍺 mixed together it sounds interesting?
Cheers 🥂

Nice aviation footage.
Nice one Paul! Keep it up!
Looks like a great product. 👌 Very keen to try a 737-MAX. Perhaps I’ll have to give Bonza a go when it starts. 🤔
Keep up the good work! 😃
I think it’s a good review of a product that I didn’t know existed in that format. Do you feel the price reflected more on the distance of the flight or the options that this product offered?
Nice luxury flight Paul!
Hello Paul.
Great video. Was there a selection of facial mist and could you mention load factors and costing either points cash or combination .
Thank you
I’m afraid not 😢
Thanks for uploading in 4K. It made me a subscriber today.
Welcome!
@@PaulStewartAviation thanks
That's a great narrow-body business class seat! Are there any others in the Asia pacific region? Philipines might in their A321 NEOs?
Hey Paul great to see you back in the air! Was there a menu for this flight? Would be great to see the choices if you have any shots of it. Cheers!
No menu from memory
How new is this new Business Class model ? Great review by the way.
Nice digs for a 2 hr flt.
Great video... I absolutely love broths from that part of the world. Vietnamese/Cambodian/Thai clear broths are the bees knees. These seats are no different in terms of functionality to other Thompson Aero shell seats, but SQ's look sooooo much better no? I am gagging to fly international but I'm still waiting for my damn passport. 🤦
SQ's nasi lemak isn't a good representation of what that dish is. It's too neat!
Thumbs up!
Quite a nice BC section. Seats look really comfy too. As for getting sunburnt off reflections... I shouldn't laugh, but my Missus, who is what you would describe as an 'English Rose', managed to get sunburnt from the sun reflecting off our vinyl weatherboard cladding at home... she thought she was safe under our gazebo too!! 🤣😂 Thanks for the review! BTW love the shirt Paul! 😎
Great work mate subscribed 👌
Awesome, thank you!
@@PaulStewartAviation your welcome Paul
Great video - was wondering what type of camera you used to film . And I’m not sure I would fly the max just yet 😳
Gopro 10
I take it you got to the airport on the back of a moto with the suitcase on the handlebars...just a wild guess
Hi Paul.
It looks like it was a good flight, with sufficient food for a 2 hour flight.
I still dunno if I treat the "Boeing 737max 80🤔
Pro Tip: You can get TONS of views, clicks, and likes by also posting the spool up and take off segments as their own specific video's. Us nerds love spool up and take off video's!
Thanks for sharing, I didn't realize the 737-8 had those accommodations. Pretty impressive for a 'small' plane. :)
To be honest, I have uploaded the full takeoffs and those videos do pretty poorly like my Qantas 747-400 takeoff from Sydney last year
@@PaulStewartAviation No kidding? Sorry to hear that :( All the take off vid's I watch have lots of views. I'm glad you included the take off with this video, it was pretty sweet! :)
@@applejacks971 I always include the spool up in real time so you can hear it, and then usually speed up the rest. I upload the full take off videos here: ruclips.net/channel/UCPnnXfUeUOKYUs5K_Ve1icg
Great channel Paul! Enjoyed the Ghan video and the Al Sawfa lounge videos.
Do you still use a GoPro? I've had great GoPro 9 videos outdoors, but need to rethink low light and indoor recordings. Best regards David.
Hi David, yes I use a Gopro and you're right that it does struggle in low-light conditions.
Paul great vlog !
You only got a few days in Cambodia ?
yep just a few
Great video Paul I support a Cambodian family there I'll be going back later this month
Nice video as always. Recently flew business with them and it was kinda underwhelming.
Wish virgin Australia was getting this type of business seat for their 737 max!
3:56 - for European passengers, used to economy seats in Business Class on flights up to four hours (TLV, CAI), this is the paradise. Lufthansa should go to SIA to learn how to do Business Class.
Earlier this year I was flying LHR-IST on BA's A320. At the check-in desk, I noticed the 'Ask us for an upgrade"' label, so I did. I flew in C for 4:30 just for a 90 quid more, but IMHO you don't need a lie-flat seat on 4h trip. Singapore to Darwin, Brisbane, or Perth maybe, and especially on red-eye flights but not on four-hour daylight flights.
My little Cessna 182 is good 'nuff for me, but if I have to fly commercial ... it's first class ... I hate terminals, long lines, baggage claims, bi-itchy TSA agents and ticket agents. First class doesn't do away with all of those ills ... but it isn't like the abuse you endure if you are stuck with economy ... in my opinion. Business class looks pretty good actually. Might actual consider Singapore Business Class if I have to go commercial ... or Emirates if I can't fly my cessna for some reason. Thanks for the video.
I would love to see you fly to Norfolk Island one day
A spectacular cabin… puts euro business to shame! 🏆👍
I Saw 9V-MBA On The 2nd And You Went On It On The 3rd
Chunder bag but not chook? What sort of Aussie are you Paul? :) Otherwise an outstanding product for two hour flight, and the lounge looked more than acceptable. Good to see you travelling
again.
😆😆
Lucky boy I do like Siem Reap actually all of Cambodia
When you are boarding the plane in Siem Reap, do you have to walk the stairs up to the plane? How do people with mobility issue accomplish them? Do they have any lift system?
Prob a lift i guess
@@PaulStewartAviation thanks Paul. We are going in January and my grandmother is in a wheelchair. Hopefully they can use the lift for her.
@@kolaapss oh they definitely will. Just make sure the ground crew are aware :)
@@PaulStewartAviation definitely will do, thanks!
O, my God.
737-8Max
Nice video …… liked that shirt tug😏
The engines sound great! But not as great as your sense of humor. Incredible product for a narrowbody!
5:38 well would you prefer the dimmers over sunshades if the crew couldn't remotely control them?
No I prefer the plastic shades. I could still feel the sun coming through the 787 windows even on their darkest setting
@@PaulStewartAviation Well the next generation of dimmable windows are said to have an ultra dark mode. My personal favourite is the electromechanical shades featured in First / Business class in many airlines (Emirates etc).
I'd like to find out how the seats convert to lie-flat. Do they extend forward and you're lying on the cushion of the seat, or do they flip over and you're lying on the carcass of the seat? Virgin Atlantic have the flip over ones and they are extremely hard, as there's no 'give' in the carcass and they only have a very thin 'mattress' to cover the carcass and it gives no comfort.
The first option. The VS (NZ does the same) style seat if folding over forwards was a terrible setup.
I am making it a life goal to fly on a 747 to Heathrow one day
73 with lay down seats what the heck!? America could never, go Singapore!
Super duper video - thanks. I was amazed that they are even flying the 737-max/death trap planes at all.
interesting, as 737s historically have not had lie flats ever!
For travel insurance purposes……..brilliant 😂😂😂😂😂😂
You landed on runway 20R.
As a fellow skin variety with grossly incompetent melanocytes, can confirm the reflection thing sucks! Great review as always.
Angkor beer to Cambodia is what Tiger Beer is to Singapore
If it's that hot and humid outside I'd rather have a cold towel than hot one.

good question!

I drank a couple too many singapore slings last time I flew sq 🤣

Boeing max 737 ,?
Basically you are painfully white? 😂😂😂 Scottish or Irish? I am fortunately less painfully white. I also avoid veg oils, but for you, I am not sure that would help! 😬😅
Will not fly in Max 8 ever, period.
