What's to be safe about? I achieved levels in five careers that few achieve in one. That doesn't make me a DaVinci, it makes me one who's unafraid. At 76 I'm in excellent health - do archery - play basketball - can drop for 50 pushups, etc.., etc., and I'm currently working on my 13th book. Now I'm able to pass advice down to there from all that I've learned over the years, and it's a great feeling to be able to leave that legacy... Had I been afraid, that wouldn't be the case.

I'm 74. For the past three years, I and my spouse (4 years junior to me) are asleep by 10 p.m. daily and awake by five A.M. we, both are diabetic. Before breakfast we have a warm tumbler each of 2 tsp of Moringa Leaves Powder (on week days mixed in a tsp of Chia Seeds) and an hour later a light breakfast of toast and boiled eggs. An hour later , our usual diabetic medicine and vitamins. Our second and final , slightly heavier ( with fruit and vegetables salad) meal of the day is at 04 p.m.

I agree with all that’s said here and I do exactly the same things. Particularly not dashing out of bed quickly. Stretching before sitting up and sitting at the edge of your bed before standing is good advice. I always drink a glass of water as I find I dehydrate over night. Then Pump your arms and legs 6 to 7 times , it also improves circulation and blood flow helps you move more easily before walking to your bathroom. I’m Now 74 and it’s something I’ve done for a long time … it sets me up for the morning 👍

Some good advice in this video, especially number 1. I am 80 and generally exercise later in the day (brisk walking) but when I was younger there were a few occasions when I tried jogging in the morning. I found that my jogging performance could not match what I could do later in the day, indicating that my body was not as ready in the morning for such strenuous activity even at a younger age. On number 2, I have never felt dizzy when first standing up but that may be because my blood pressure in higher than normal. But I tend to take my time on standing after sleep anyway because my body is still tired when I awaken. Number 3 also make sense, although constipation can occur due to factors other than diet, such as certain medications. If you are constipated, wait until later in the day to try a bowel movement or maybe try a stool softener. Even then, straining carries some risk; wasn't that how Elvis died (although his body was a mess anyway)?

Your breakfast food does not process into nutrition and energy, until hours after digestion. The first premise is flawed.
Premise #2 is for people who have gained considerable weight over the years and haven't stayed in good condition. I'm 76 and weigh much the same as I did in college and high school. ...Not genetics - consistency. I pop out of bed in the morning. As far as an easy morning poop...1) eat two prunes before going to bed at night 2) Make a morning cocktail of a shot of olive oil, a shot of aloe vera, a capful of lemon juice, a capful of AC vinegar, sprinkle some clove and cinnamon into the cocktail. Down it. You'll never have to strain taking a poop. Due to several years of severe IBS when I was in my 20s and 30s, I have reduced flora in my lower colon, but I still have no problem taking a dump. Happy New Year, and happy crapping.
P.S. I also play basketball two or three times a week with guys half my age and twice my size. If I drop dead, I drop dead. What's the difference. Being afraid of death will put a significant dent in your health. How long did it take you to get into your 70s. Don't get crazy about leaving this life - it's coming. ...Part of life.

I am 78 and a long time widow. At age 60 I was diagnozed with diabetes 2. I take metaformin, statins, enaladex pills for heart and high blood pressure, a pill for hypertension, medication for an enlarged prostate, and pee every 2- 3 hours even with medication.
For the last 18 years, I weight lift 3 - 4 days a week. I now include light calisthenics. I am 1.80 m tall and weigh 74 kg.
I am very fit for my age despite not keeping to a strict diabetes diet. So what's my secret for keeping going?
The answer is threefold; Exercise, Medication, and Attitude which is:
    1. Constant and new mental challenges, such as starting my own RUclips channel 18 months ago when I hadn't even done a selfie previously.
    2. Social engagement with many friends at home, and with my 2 kids, 3 step-sons, 4 grandkids, and 8 step grand-kids.
3 times a year I travel overseas to South East Asia and date ladies much younger than myself. I return home revitalized and energetic. This renewable sense of well being is a tonic that far outstrips all my pills and medication.
Each to his own. This is my recipe for living and enjoying every second of every day. I enjoy nostalgia and country music, but look forward to my next adventure tomorrow.
Despite funerals being a regular part of my social calendar, I love using my humour to mix with younger people half my age.
What about you? Do you squeeze pleasure out of every available second?

This advice seems reasonable. However, light stretching and toning exercises helps me get moving in the morning. Otherwise, arthritis and lower back pain hang with me for hours, preventing comfort and basic mobility. You can warm up your body like a car and avoid injury and excessive wear and tear. No need to push too hard. We were taught these same principles in high school sports. Nothing like a good warm up to prevent a muscle pull or to get your heart and brain well oxygenated.

Perhaps this advice is valid for most elderly people. However, if you have been very active all your life some of this advice is not true. I am 74 and have been involved in training for triathlons and participating in triathlons for 20 years, including full Ironman races. I only eat breakfast and dinner each day. Most days I am running, swimming or biking for 30 - 90 minutes prior to breakfast. As we get older most put on many pounds of fat. Going 10 - 12 hours without eating and then doing significant exercise is not significant. Your body has plenty of fat to use as energy.

    • @saintsone7877

Exactly. The AI has no idea that exercising before a meal makes you burn stored fat thereby creating a leaner you which is HEALTHY. By eating food before exercising unless you exercise enough some of your breakfast gets stored as fat which is UNHEALTHY. This like when we were told eggs were full of cholesterol and we should remove eggs, fats etc from our diets and soon after the Diabetes and fat epidemic began. The so-called healthy diet triangle was for elite athletes who train 6-10hrs a day at moderate to high levels. Most people exercise at low levels and could not understand why they ate healthy diets, exercised yet put on weight. Like all diets they are all designed to over time increase your weight so the smarties cash in on your next diet/exercise attempt.
Eat whatever you want that does not set off an allergy(if you have them) in moderation, exercise regularly and get 30 minutes a day out in the sun and you will remain/get healthy. It is the deprivation that causes more problems than it solves we need to avoid at all costs.

God is allowing you to learn from this regime. Not you.

There is no one rule for everyone - we are all different, with different heredity and states of health. The old Greek rule "Moderation in all things" is a good rule for everyone. No one of any age should overdo anything.

We learned two things: You’re in denial about mortality, and a belief system can help that situation… e.g., ‘you’re going to live longer’ because you had that high carb breakfast before yard work. Or, I’m going to live longer by working on an empty stomach (hydrated though), so my strength isn’t sapped by my body’s resources digesting said food. Incidentally, most heart attacks are between 4 and 10am in the morning. Just saying…

We need to know more about the taboo subject of death.
If it's possible to know more whilst in life.
Personally speaking I've seen absolutely nothing to convince me that death is not the absolute end.
What does it matter anyway ?
We don't know what consciousness is.

Actually, (assuming the older adult has no existing health issues), exercising before breakfast (referred to as 'fasting exercise') can have important benefits such as: (1) Improved Fat Oxidation: Exercising in a fasted state may enhance the body's ability to burn fat, which can aid in weight management. (2) Enhanced Insulin Sensitivity: Fasted exercise has been linked to better blood sugar control, potentially reducing the risk of type 2 diabetes. So basically, this video is wrong. Have a nice day.

This video promotes consumption of processed food in the morning. I'm sorry, but that's not healthy and can lead to detrimental insulin spikes. Getting up too quickly may be a greater risk for those who've chosen to take high blood pressure medications. Better to find out why you have high blood pressure (poor nutrition, stress) and fix that instead of popping pills. All medicines have detrimental side effects, and modern doctors prescribe medications instead of attempting to deal with the actual underlying health problem. I'm glad RFK Jr. will be involved in attempting to educate the American public, and I hope a few will listen.
